You don't have to be the person at the top to be a leader. You just have to know what qualities are really important that people will appreciate and respect and love about you. If you can do it, and if you're not in a leadership role, then you could just step up and just be the pilot. Be the person who is just running hard, always working on themselves, calling themselves out before other people have to call them out. Sharing your goals with whoever it is that you're reporting to and let them know at the end of 30, 60, 90 days how you did what you learned and then what you're going to do with that, learning to apply it to the next quarter. And if you do that, you're rare. You're in the 1% just by simply doing that and sharing it and making sure that you're taking and owning, being responsible for everything that happens with your performance. And if you can do that and then step into other areas of the business to add value, you'll be someone who's irreplaceable in the eyes of leadership and management, and you'll soon be the leader who's leading other leaders.
