WAKE UP! You're Being Brainwashed

Chad Silverstein argues that social media and work have replaced faith and family as primary influences on our lives. The average American spends six hours daily on phones, and tech companies deliberately design addictive notifications. He urges people to clarify their own beliefs and prioritize faith and family over unconsciously following others' agendas.

For thousands of years, the two biggest influences in people's lives was faith and family.
Always.
They were the two staples that heavily influenced everybody. And never in history before has there been such a shift in how we're being influenced and who we're being influenced by.
Today, it's unfortunate that faith and family are not even at the top of the list and that social media and work has a bigger influence than those two staples that have been around since the beginning of time. And to be able to recognize that is such a big deal, because understanding.
That there are individuals who are sitting.
Around a big conference room table figuring out how to addict you to your phone, how to get these notifications to hit that dopamine within you, to give you this reaction that you feel like your phone's buzzing and the reason why you keep your phone next to your pillow when you go to sleep at night while you check it first thing in the morning, it is your biggest influence. And the people who are behind those notifications and behind the messages being sent to you behind the first page of your apps on your phone are not looking out for your best interests. They're actually trying to get into your pockets. And they've done a pretty good job.
With it because they're living in your pockets.
And they have influenced us so much so that we are, have been brainwashed.
That we don't even know we're being.
Influenced with the decisions that we make.
On a daily basis.
And so you got to wake up and you got to just have some.
Awareness of the fact that that's happening.
So that you can work towards becoming.
Your own biggest influence in your life.
And the way you do that is to clarify what you believe and why you believe it, so that when others are pushing their agenda onto you, you could take a stand and say, that's I don't agree with that, and not just be kind of brain dead, sleepwalking through life and just reacting to everything that everyone's pushing upon you. And for the average American who's spending six hours a day tied to their phone, which I think is probably on the low end, and now with mixed reality hitting the scene with Apple's Vision Pro and everything that's going to be coming out in the future, there is nothing more important than making sure that you become your own biggest influence in your life and not letting other people push their agendas onto you and unconsciously living someone else's life that they want you to live. And so faith and family bring it back into your core, make it your priority. Understand what and why you believe and how you want to live. And don't be such a sheep. To let other people make you think.
And do what they want you to.
Do, and that's how you become a.
Strong, core centered leader, is to have the awareness that that's happening and then doing something about it.
