What Can't AI Do?

Chad Silverstein says AI has made website building, video creation, and digital marketing cheap and fast. Early adopters of free AI tools will have a major advantage as job requirements shift, even if AI doesn't eliminate jobs outright.

It is crazy how much business has changed over the past 12 to 24 months. And with the AI tools that are out today, I don't know how much time I spend during the day using these tools, but it's a lot. And I've saved so many thousands of dollars that I feel like an idiot knowing how much I spent on websites and marketing tools and all these things that I can do today for basically nothing. So if you're an entrepreneur, if you're a leader, here's a couple things that I would, I would tell you that I think can really help you leverage your ability to give people value, including yourself. So it's an investment in yourself. The first is get a website builder. And if you're not gonna use a website builder, then use some of these free AI tools that you can prompt and create a website in about 10 seconds. Because these days everything's pretty much done for you. But having a website builder is extremely powerful. And I'm not talking about like a wix, I'm talking about a real customized, easy to use system that allows you to just really quickly put up a webpage or a website, put the template in, put your content, your pictures, your images, your videos, or your copy. Now that you have AI and ChatGPT, you could just have them create the copy for you. And to be able to have things up so quickly and more importantly, the ability to edit and then have different iterations of whatever it is as things change is literally, I don't know how marketing companies who do websites are going to stay in business over time because the technology is getting so good and the ability to do it yourself is, is there and sometime even free that the companies who are charging 5 or 10 thousand dollars again, outside of the big 500 pound gorilla companies, I don't know why you'd ever pay that ever again. So I definitely highly recommend, you know, making sure that you can, you can build websites quickly for, for your business. And the second thing is that video has become such a big deal and there are so many free tools that you can use. So from project management like Trello and things that you could use for free and video editing and videos like Lumen 5 is a cool one that I've used before. And you can just make free videos and they're just so easy to use. So you want to find the tools and if that means you sit on the Internet for an hour and do research on the best free tools you know, you can go to medium, go to medium.com people write articles and they'll share their top list of AI tools and you don't have to pay anything for these things. So not only can you save a ton of money, but you can learn. I've learned more in the past year than I probably did in the last decade just because I've been consuming information and having ChatGPT teach me courses and put together content for me so that I can understand anything that I'm curious about. And I think that way of self educating yourself online and using all these free tools, it just changes everything for everyone. And I don't know if it's hit mainstream yet. It feels like it hasn't. And I think if you can get ahead of the game, especially if you're coming out of college and you're looking for a new job, I mean, this is a way that you can bury people with experience. You know, the days of saying I don't have experience, you know, I personally think that that's a big mistake saying that, because I don't care who you are, if you know how to use these tools and you can play with them and get really good at them, which kids in college can do much better than someone who's been out in the workforce for 10 or 15 years? And you stack up a college kid who knows how to use all these tools and knows which ones are the go tos and then how to put something together very fast so they can impress someone that they're interviewing for with, and you compare that up to someone who's been with a company for 10 or 15 years making $250,000 and you got some college kids, some whip that's just going to come in and say, let me show you what I put together for you. And they just give you whatever, maybe a website, a landing page, a social media strategy that they put together and it's something that you're paying someone a quarter of a million dollars to do and the college kid did it better. Oh boy. You just have to know how to leverage it and focus on the skills. And if you're going to focus on hard skills, focus on all this new stuff that's out. Because never before in history have you been able to put yourself on the same level as everyone else. Because it's all brand new and there are hundreds of companies every single day launching new products. You can go to appsumo.com, you can go to any of these companies that are launching all these new startups and these companies are pretty much giving it away for free. My company does it at restart, join restart.com, check out the app. It's free because we want people using it, test it, and it's a way to get activity. And right now there's real power for software companies and all these places that are basically launching their businesses to get users on their platform using it. And so you have to take advantage of that. And if you're not, you could lose your job. I don't believe AI is going to take people's jobs, but it's going to change people's jobs. And you want to stay ahead of the game. I believe, and I would not gonna say I'm confident in predicting this, but there's gonna be like a little bit of an uncomfortable period when people realize that they have to shift and they have to learn a new skill and it'll be acutely painful for people, but overall, once they learn their skills and they adapt and they incorporate it and it gets integrated into their role and their responsibilities of their job, then eventually things will kind of catch up and then it'll just be like, you know, getting out of bed because you just have been using it, kind of like new technology that you just started using. But if you can get ahead of it now, you should. And the people who are doing that, taking advantage of it, I really believe they're just going to be just light years ahead of other people who are not even using it. And it still shakes my head when I hear people tell me they're not using it. I'm like, wow. Even for your current job, you can apply it to pretty much any job right now, no matter what you do. So take advantage of it. Use those free tools. Project management, videos, copywriting, websites, digital marketing, social media, every single one of them. There are free tools that you should be utilizing, and there are hundreds of them. So you just have to find the best of the best, play with them, find your, your, your few that are your go to, and then start using them and you'll see your performance. Not only will you start saving time, but you'll start producing better results. And that means you'll be more valuable, which means you should be paid more money and, you know, secure your job a little bit as there's going to be a shakedown. When people are looking for alternatives, whether it be overseas or a younger generation coming out of college, they can pay less or having automation replace a human being in certain responsibilities. So get with it.
