What TRUE LEADERS Do Differently

Chad Silverstein explains that true leaders think and act independently rather than following the crowd. Effective leadership requires years of hard work: self-reflection, dealing with hardship, and clarifying personal beliefs so one can respond to tests and crises based on conviction rather than concern for others' opinions.

Have you ever found yourself in an uncomfortable position situation or seen others who find themselves in a. In a situation where they're looking around to see what other people are going to do? It's incredible that people can't think for themselves in situations where they're being tested. And someone who's strong, a really strong leader, can think and act independently without feeling like they need to worry about what other people are going to think. And it takes a strong core to be able to do that. And it's something that can look really easy when you see someone do it. But it's years of hard work and building into yourself to be able to think independently and not be a slave to what you think other people want you to do or how they want you to act? I think it's one of the strongest disciplines that a leader can build. Knowing what they believe, knowing how they want to live so that when things show up, situations arise, they can actually think about the way that to them makes the most sense to decide how they want to react to whatever it is that's happening. And they respond based on what they believe because they don't care how it's going to look to other people. And I don't know many people who can do that. But when you can get to a point where you know what you believe and you can act independently, then you know that you are building strength behind you and that other others will follow. Most people are born to follow someone else's lead. You know, I believe that we're all born to lead, but you have to be built to lead, no question about it. And it takes dealing with hard things that happen to you and learning from them and building yourself and doing the hard work to self reflect and find time to be by yourself, to know what you believe and what you want to do in regards to how life throws curve balls at you to be able to act independently and be able to make decisions based on what you believe to be true. And if you don't do the hard work, then you're simply just going to follow the crowd and be part of the herd. And that is not a leader worth following. And so when you're in a leadership position, you better be really clear on what you believe, because the tests are undefeated. You're never gonna have a long period of time where you're not gonna be tested if you're a leader. And if you are, then you're definitely not in a leadership role worth being in for a long time. Because anything worth pursuing and growing in a leadership role is gonna be hard. And you better know what you believe and how you want to respond to situations, because the storm is coming. Strong leaders act independently. Do you.
