Why Great Leaders Know When to Stay Silent (The Power of Secrets)

To keep the right secrets, because there's something really powerful being able to, like, know when to not speak and to kind of live by that mindset of better to let people wonder what you're thinking than to wonder why you're speaking. And the way to do that is just to keep your mouth closed. You know, if you're leading anything, be the last one to speak in the meeting. You know, and if someone is curious and they want to ask you a question, then, you know, the floodgate can open and you can share whatever it is you want to share, but speak with purpose. And if you're going to, you know, do what I like to do a lot, which is brainstorm, you just kind of disclaim that so that you're being clear, not sending any mixed messages. And when in doubt, be silent.
