In this 12‑minute personal‑development video, Charlie Hugh‑Jones – founder of Living On Purpose – shares his own journey from a high‑earning law career built on security to a period of loss and confusion, and explains how he discovered a practical method for uncovering one’s life purpose. He argues that purpose cannot be handed down by gurus or books; it is already embedded in the patterns of one’s life and can be revealed through five focused questions: (1) Who are you? (2) What do you do? (3) Who do you do it for? (4) What do those people want or need? (5) What is the result of your action? By answering these, viewers can identify “fingerprints of purpose” and commit to at least one daily action aligned with those insights, even if only for 15 minutes a day. Charlie also teases a forthcoming video on improving attention and focus, and ends with typical YouTube calls to like, subscribe, share, and visit his website for further resources.

Hi, it's Charlie Hugh-Jones, creator and founder of Living On Purpose, unlocking the power of inspiration, imagination, and innovation to live a richer, more fulfilled, and more abundant life. Welcome to this video. I help people who recognize that they want something to change in their life make powerful decisions and follow through on them so that they experience more clarity and focus, more energy, greater contentment, and often financial freedom. In this video, In this video, you're going to learn how to know your life purpose from answering 5 simple questions so that you can take at least one action every day that leads to a happier, more fulfilled life, no matter what your circumstances. For a long time, I never really questioned my life purpose because I thought it was basically just to have a secure salary and avoid being financially at risk because my parents had lost everything when I was a teenager. And so I started a career as a lawyer in one of the nation's best law firms. I had my plan and within 10 years was married, had 2 children, and had made partner. Then a personal tragedy destroyed all that and I was left wondering, what was I supposed to do? I didn't have a dream. I had no goals. I felt lost and purposeless. You see, I'd built my life on my competence, what I could do, but not necessarily what I should do, the things that mattered most to me. So I made one decision. I was going to find out my life purpose and then I was going to equip myself to live on purpose every day. One of the greatest sources of frustration in life is not just lacking an authentic sense of purpose, but more often it's the experience of looking for it in the wrong place. I've worked with hundreds of people who read self-help book after self-help book, who sought out gurus, spiritual teachers, and experts expecting to be told, this is your life purpose. I know, I did all that too. I spent thousands and thousands on books, courses, retreats, coaches, and so on. But it just doesn't work that way. Your purpose is not something someone else tells you. It's something you rediscover as it's always been part of who you are. The telltale signs are in everything that has brought you to this point in your life already, just waiting to be noticed and acted upon by you. Now, it's not been straightforward or easy, and I've made a ton of mistakes along the way that have cost me not only lots of money but years of my life as well. What I discovered though was that with the right questions I could bring into sharp focus the things that resonated at the deepest level with who I was. The things that inspired me and gave me energy. The things that made me feel like I made a difference. And the things that reminded me that I mattered. So here are 5 powerful questions to help you rediscover your life purpose. Question 1, who are you? For example, if someone If someone was describing what made you, you to someone else, what would they say about you? How would they characterize you? Question 2: What do you do? In other words, what's the one thing that right now when you stop and think of it makes you feel empowered and motivated? Cooking, coding, cleaning, designing, hosting, writing, building, whatever it is. And if there are too many things on your list, you could also approach the question like this: What is the thing that you do that you'd be happy, or at least pretty confident, teaching others about or to do? Question 3: Who do you do it for? Who benefits when you do that thing that gives you energy or that you could teach others about? It might be as simple as who specifically gets enjoyment out of seeing you do this, but it might also be who is helped by you doing this. Question 4: What do those people want or need that aren't How does it benefit them when you do your thing or give them what you have to offer? What is it that they want that you can help them achieve? On to question 5. What is the result of you doing this thing? What I mean by this is how are other people's lives changed or impacted by you doing this thing or these things? What do they get or how do they feel? Now the answers to these 5 questions will give you some very powerful clues as to what your life purpose is. These finger The fingerprints of purpose are written all over your life already. So now you know what these are, you can choose every day to do one thing that's connected to them. And even if you just spend 15 minutes each day doing something aligned with your purpose, you'll feel happier and more fulfilled. Now I know sometimes it's really hard to make space mentally or in your schedule to do stuff like answering these 5 questions. So I'm going to be exploring ways to increase your attention and allow your mind to focus better in another free video that I'm going to release soon.
