Two creators discuss why TikTok Shop affiliate income is unreliable. One quit after two years with $400,000 in sales but only $60-70k commission, then lost it all when banned. They argue you need multiple accounts and treat it as one channel, not your whole business.
One of the main reasons I quit TikTok shop as an affiliate that was doing TikTok shop for two years and made about $400,000 revenue, is because TikTok shop is not a real business. You can make.
You do it like a regular affiliate where you're posting a couple videos on the side and hoping you make commission, then. Yeah. And also $400,000 in revenue probably comes out to about 60, $70,000 in commission over two years.
Take all the commission you want. But realistically, if your account gets banned just like mine did, your income is
if you have one TikTok shop account. Yes, you are absolutely playing a losing game because it's inevitable at some point that one of them is going to get banned. So you have to have systems to grow accounts and obviously multiple accounts so you can actually scale it up like a real business
gone like that. All you're really building is the skill of content creation, which, if you know how to make content, you could be doing a lot of other things to make more money besides TikTok shop. I think we can all agree that we don't want to be filming TikTok Shop videos like skits and, like, silly stuff when we're 25 years old. No one wants to do that TikTok,
and you shouldn't be. And so you should be hiring creators for $25 an hour and go past where all regular affiliates go from just filming videos to actually building a business in a media conglomerate, because you already know how to do TikTok shop. So rather than pivoting to a completely different model, learn how to solve bigger problems, put out more videos, and outsource things like filming, editing, and posting. And that is how you make more money in something that you already know how to do. So, no hate to this guy in any way, shape or form, but if you're in this situation, or this is an objection you have about TikTok shop, this is like playing at the smallest level. And this guy would crush it if he just started outsourcing because he already knows how to do TikTok shop.
