21 Banks Just Told You Where Crypto Is Headed

In this solo market‑commentary video, Chip Mahoney argues that the coordinated actions of 21 major banks—among them Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, UBS—and the DTCC’s migration of its CAN Network to the Stellar blockchain constitute a watershed moment for the cryptocurrency ecosystem. He frames this development as the emergence of a "new normal" that will accelerate settlement speeds (from months to weeks) and embed crypto deeper into traditional finance, even if retail investors remain unaware. Mahoney links this institutional shift to a bullish outlook for Bitcoin, forecasting potential price levels of $200k, and stresses that Bitcoin will retain its status as capital regardless of short‑term price swings. Using a stadium‑construction analogy, he illustrates how large‑scale infrastructure investments create durable value capture that eventually translates into higher prices. He also highlights Ripple’s regulatory settlement as a case study of how crypto firms can navigate SEC actions and reinvest settlements into strategic acquisitions. Throughout, Mahoney promotes his own research products—Free Substack newsletter, paid Signals subscription, Token Trust Network, and one‑on‑one consulting—positioning them as a starting point for investors to uncover hidden opportunities before the broader market catches on. The video blends market analysis, analogical storytelling, and self‑promotion, aiming to align viewers with what he sees as the next phase of crypto adoption.

21 banks just showed you where crypto is headed, and almost no one is paying attention to that. It's my job to pay attention to these things and, as I like to say, make some of the invisible more visible to people who follow my Substack, my YouTube, and other places. So, 21 banks. You know that Bitcoin has 21 million total supply, so you're aware of that. However, 21 banks at this time. I kind of feel that's a thing to really pay attention to. Now the names are you know typical of that roster. You know Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, UBS. A lot of names that were involved in you know 2008 or friends of friends in that arena. So here we go again. You know 2008 was. Probably last time we had the American dream before it got mortgaged, and so we're waiting for something else. I think that's Bitcoin at a much higher price, really closer to double at this time, maybe even you know two hundred thousand at some point. I think it will get there. I just don't know when. But regardless, 21 banks doing what they're doing, you know, first part of 2027 could be really interesting. You know, crypto is always putting stuff out in the future, but the reality is that, you know, the Genius Act is definitely set in stone by, you know, mid-January. The DTCC will have already got beyond CAN Network into Stellar. Stellar is also in the news as well with, um, US Bank. Um, so when we get to 2027 first half, uh, you know, 21 banks like forming their own company, their own stablecoin. I don't think it's another stablecoin story. So it's like the new normal, you know, whereas before in the last, uh, you know, 50 years or so where SWIFT dominated things and, you know, when they got started in You know, early '70s took them four years to send out the first message, so it took some time. Now I think it's going to be about four months. So get ready for a new normal where I don't think your average retail is paying attention to that, nor would they be aware of these companies or really what's going on. And that's perfect for traditional finance. I mean, that's a lot how they do things very stealth. But if Bitcoin were to be chopped in half from here, trading around $80,000 or so, at least lately, and, uh, you know, chopped down to like $40,000, then I still say that Bitcoin is capital. Another 50% from there, still capital. We're not going back to previous labels where it's dangerous, it's rat poison, it's a pet rock. Sorry, we told you you could use it for collateral. It's still a pet rock. We were just kidding. No, there's just too much commitment, infrastructure, and so on. You know, recently I made the analogy with the Buffalo Bills stadium. That's $2 billion to bring that new stadium for the fans. And they opened up the preseason, the fans were kind of disappointed where they didn't have really a good field view from most of the seats, like the cheap seats really, or there are no cheap seats there. You know, the Jumbotron is not as good as the flat screen in their own home. So they're just really disappointed in that. But that doesn't mean that the builders are going to, you know, stop what they're doing, not open for the regular season and rebuild, redesign. No, they're moving forward with what they're doing, going to value capture and durable value capture. And that would mean where they're like, we wonder if our, you know, fans people in the seats are going to pay our prices now for concessions. You know, will they buy an $80 beer when the Bills are 5-0, 6-0? They'll do that because they're kind of drunk on the atmosphere. So there's no going back in that commitment. There's no going back with, uh, what the DTCC is doing, um, where these 21 banks are telling you crypto is headed. Kind of a new normal. So it's time to get aligned. If you're looking for alt season, ALT is in alignment. I've said that before, and I think this is a good time to get aligned. I'm Chip Mahoney. Thanks for aligning with me today on my Substack. You can also find this on YouTube, but I appreciate the subscribe wherever. Just note that on Substack you can get, uh, The free newsletter, Front Run the Week, then upgrade to Signals if you like. Signals is updated every week, just made an update today, and I will cover that in this video here. Um, and then there's Token Trust Network and some other things, so link in the description. But with the Signals, um, you can get the free look. And what I will do in this video, since it's for everybody, is just to kind of you know, smooth over that a bit without giving away too much information, because that's for Signals members, Token Trust Network members, and people on the Substack, and a lot more than I have planned in store. But Signals updated every week. Um, you know, just the other day during Labor Day, like here in the United States where we have this thing where you're not supposed to work but everybody's working And, uh, you know, I was kind of moving around looking at some retail shops, a lot of people around. And, you know, if I were to stop people and, you know, just talk about the project names, then I don't think people would know what I was talking about beyond Bitcoin. They had heard of Bitcoin. They might not know a lot about it. Certainly they know of that. And I do think they're conditioned to one, even though they're not invested. They're only going to be interested when it's at a much higher price. But, uh, leader on Labor Day, uh, top 100 on the 24-hour, really taking charge on Labor Day, really working, uh, was one of the projects I have in my author note. Been talking about since January. And then, uh, yesterday, Venice AI back in the news, tapping like $28. Been on Signals since, uh, under $2. So Signals is there, uh, for the research. You know, my research is a starting point for your research, um, updated every week, kind of coincides with Frontrun the Week, the newsletter. And you can definitely trade your email to get that, but I encourage you to join that because, um, you know, it's real research, uh, 30 hours a week, been doing it for years, certified in DeFi and blockchain. And other runners on signals as well, at least a handful that have led top 100, 250, 500, even coming out of 1,000 into the 500. And people are like, you know, what's this token? Must be good because a lot of people are conditioned with crypto that if Bitcoin's up or if things look green, then, you know, crypto is good. And if there's a lot of red, It's bad. Something's wrong. Something's broken. Something must have got hacked. And so Signals has had a lot there where, you know, others are like nothing's going on crypto. They're paying attention to the big names, and that's fine. But there are, you know, some distractions there. Things have been pretty good, in my opinion. And they could get better. From September into October, DTCC beginning with CAN Network, they custody $114 trillion, not all at once, but no more innovation by press release. They're ready to go. They have a 3-year no-action letter from the SEC and they're running with that. So it's going to be interesting. Doesn't mean prices are going to go up because in this commitment You know, with what I talk about with the commitment chain, which you can also get, um, you know, get the commitment chain, get 30 days of signals. I got an offer for that. I'll leave that in this video description as well. But it's the commitment, it's the capital, it's the infrastructure leading to value capture, then to durable value capture, and then we kind of see narrative and price and so forth. And again, I don't think there's really any better example of, you know, the new Highmark Stadium for $2 billion. You know, I said on the podcast recently, Chip Mahoney Show, been around for 5 years, looks like top 25 on Apple. So if you ever check it out there, I appreciate the subscribe. But I said it before that, you know, no one has done more In crypto in the last five years than Ripple and XRP. No one. No one's done more in the last five, six, seven months than a project that was leading on on Labor Day that's been on signals since January. But that's where they were run through, you know, the TSA line from the SEC or the former administration. You know, unpack your bags. Yeah, you think you're going to the moon, but we're gonna scan you. And ask you some questions. Now, that was a former SEC. And so we made it out of the TSA line onto the Dreamliner, and that's where I think we are today. We're not going to deplane and go back to the TSA line. That's not going to happen. But during that, uh, time when they were being sued, speaking of Ripple, you know, they went from like $2 billion to $1 billion And then they got to $100 million. The SEC was like, okay, we'll settle with you for $100 million if you say you're sorry and pay us that $100 million. So they started like $2 billion. That's the price of a stadium, isn't it? So Ripple, being who they are, you know, just waited for the new administration. Um, what a gift that was. They took that $100 million, bought Rail, and I love that move. So no one's done stuff like that. Regardless of the token and everything, how they operate their business, just know that that's unprecedented. And so they're, you know, at this point making sure that we don't have to deplane on the Dreamliner and go back to the TSA line. Now granted, they're on a private jet in a private airport, but still, you know, rules and regulations can hit them. And that's why they were standing side by side the president in the White House. You know, Coinbase, Kraken, Hyperliquid, and behind the president. Ripple. I didn't see Solana there. Now Solana is not on signals, not that it's bad, but I just don't like, for instance, how TradFi loves Solana for whatever reason and doesn't put it through the same litmus test as like Ethereum. Ethereum must be perfect, don't ever screw up Ethereum. Solana gets a free pass and gets talked about a lot. Uh, so I do think that when the time comes and Bitcoin's at a much higher price and people are like, well, what else you got? So if they're not going to buy one, maybe they FOMO into those alts. And if they're not invested right now, then, you know, a lot of people will stay at the party too long is what I'm saying. So things to pay attention to, I've talked a lot about it. I think my signals, uh, reflects a lot of the research, a lot of what, uh, there is quality here in crypto, you know, with cream rising to the top. And sometimes price does reveal itself and it looks pretty good, and people are, you know, attracted to that. Whereas before it was invisible, it might still be invisible, but it's my job to kind of point that out and show you what that looks like before the crowd shows up and, you know, always, you know, behaves like they do. Um, so you can get everything I have on my Substack as far as my content ecosystem, free newsletter, Signals Upgrade, Token Trust Network, Uh, 1 hour with me if you like. Um, dozens of people have done that. We go over the tokens, what you got, and, you know, have a real personal connection there. And that's what I think of anyways, is that, uh, you know, getting into this business, just like, uh, maybe a professional athlete doesn't just go out to the field without the preparation, without the, the coaching, without the meetings. They don't just do that. And so don't go it alone in this business because this is a 15-year-old market. It's an emerging asset class. If you believe that it's going to go from like $2.5 trillion to $10 trillion and beyond that, like myself, then you got to prepare for that, particularly mentally. And you got to like what you got to hold. My research is a starting point for your research, not financial advice, just sound advice. And I think you would agree with the analogy. So as I finish this video here, appreciate any likes, subscribes, 5 stars if you got them on Apple, really helps. Um, but with that analogy again, you know, $2 billion for that stadium, you know, you can just imagine that you don't have to be in crypto to understand that. You also don't have to be in crypto to understand what it costs at the previous stadium to the new stadium. A parking pass at the new place are like season tickets in the old place. And when the team is really good and everybody's drunk on that, then they're going to the concessions and they're paying and the numbers are going up for the builders and they have more durable value capture. Where they have those conversations, maybe in the skyboxes. We're like, see, we told you they'd pay our prices. They pay the ticket fees. They pay this. They buy the shirts. They do everything that they do because we said that they would. That's why we built this place. So that two billion—it's like what the SEC wanted from Ripple. Hey, pay us two billion. You did something wrong. We said you did something wrong. No, we didn't do anything wrong. You just. Need to leave. And then they waited out— pay us a billion, we'll get done right now, we can do this deal. They got down to $100 million. New administration, they bought Rail and some other companies. And so remember that. Remember, you know, that's where we are. Uh, you know, clarity is coming up middle of the month. I think that could be good, but it's not dependent on having success in crypto. It's just Something that probably needs to happen, and therefore I think it could be pretty good September into October. We deserve some good months. Last year I said it was going to be abruptober. Certainly was time to get aligned with some of the best stuff in crypto. Appreciate you checking out the video. Come back for more. I have more for you. Links in the description. But on this video, I'm out. See you later.
