Chris Collins describes his experience writing his book The Irreplaceable Service Manager, recounting that he rewrote it multiple times (including using a ghostwriter and following a friend’s system) and that the final draft took about three years of work during travel. He reports that they have sold over 35,000 copies, not counting copies given away.
The Irreplaceable Service Manager was the first book. I don't think anybody knows this. I wrote it three times. So the first time I had a ghostwriter, and it was terrible. So I threw that away. I started over then I had a friend who'd written some books, kind of give me a system. And then the third one was the one, but it took me about three years riding it on planes and hotels. We, by the way, have sold over 35,000 copies of this book. Like so. Imagine the amount of service managers in this country, and that doesn't count the ones we've given away.
