A brief excerpt from a YouTube video (Aaron "Tex" Finnin - Books That Changed My Life: Inward by Yung Pueblo Part #2) where the speaker argues that America lacks unity and collective thinking, criticizes reliance on individual 'leaders' or heroes, and calls for people to recognize shared struggle and begin organizing collectively rather than acting as isolated individuals.
Revolutions are started by artists. You know, I think that if we have any hope, we as a people, just in America in general, have to come together. We still are looking to quote, unquote, leaders for saviors. There's not a hero, there's no hero ready to scoop us out. We're divided by everything. Like, there's not one single strand of linking everybody together in America right now, especially in la. Yeah. There's no patriotism. And everybody is thinking as an individual, like, I'm struggling. They're not. We're not group thinking this out. Like, hey, we're collectively all struggling. We should get together, we should start amassing.
