Short excerpt from a YouTube video by Chris Collins titled "Are You Building a Team or a Fan Club?" The speaker contrasts true leadership with a desire to be liked, arguing that many people asking about culture prioritize being liked over winning or achieving goals; he frames that as not a leadership question but a popularity concern.
When you talk about culture, you pull the string and a bunch of other things come out with it, in a sense. And so the one thing that you kind of have to.
Understand is the people that are asking that question at the end of the day, want to be liked more than they want to win.
Hmm. Okay. I mean, it's true. Like, so most of the time, those people aren't leaders. There's no leaders asking that question. That's not a leadership question. That's a how can everybody get along and like me question. Oh. When they say this kind of thing. Yeah, yeah. So you're talking about somebody who's more focused on being liked than they are hitting a goal. Right.
