Jenna Johnson explains why spray tans are essential armor for competitive dancers. She avoids sun exposure to prevent dark spots and skin cancer risk, relying on spray tans instead and getting vitamin D from limited morning sunlight.
What's something about dance competitions that would surprise most people?
The amount of spray tan.
You know, I just grew up in a spray tan constantly. And it's part of your armor. Like it's part of the costume. It just is.
It's kind of like. Like bodybuilder events.
Yeah.
And. Yeah. Beauty contest.
Part of what it is.
Did you ever, like, have a moment where you thought maybe I should get a real tan and like I'm going to spend this summer.
Let me be honest with you. Right now I have a spray tan on. I live by them. I'm so scared of the sun for so many reasons. It's terrible for your skin. So I've just gone spray tan. And how nice is that? I protect my skin. I'm not getting dark spots. Don't want skin cancer.
