A short excerpt from a YouTube conversation (Chris Collins channel) where two speakers discuss the U.S. Marine Corps culture—joking it’s like a cult—describe its brotherhood, in-group language, and how ‘the crazy ones do really well.’ The speakers also banter about starting an actual cult (proposed name: “Free California”), with one identifying as a logistics-oriented person and the other mentioning loyalty to “Colt” and having blindly signed up for the military.

It's a wild team. You know, the Marine Corps. There's the joke about the branches of, like, the Navy is a travel agency, the army is the military, and then the Marine Corps is a cult. I mean, they're all.
Kind of culty.
To a degree. But, you know, the Marine Corps, like, we have our own almost language of very, like, weird grunts. The crazy ones do really well. Yeah, it's a brotherhood, right? Yeah, it's. I stick with Colt.
I'm trying to start a cult.
You want to? Yeah. What are we doing? What do you think? See, I'm not an ideas guy, man. I'm a logistics guy. We need the pretty face, right? We call it Free California. I'm down for the names. This is how I wound up in the military, Right? It's just blindly signed up for shape.
