Jonah Tucker, a Marine, discusses how General Smedley Butler's War Is a Racket forced him to reckon with his identity in the military. The book presented a critical view of military service that made him question what he believed about his own role.

Chapter 1, War is a Racket. Where were you in life when this came into the scene?
I'm in kind of like a moral dilemma of how do I feel about the military? Because I care about being a Marine. I care about my guys. And then I remember this book, War is a Racket.
So you're kind of at a crossroad.
Of is the mission that I'm supporting worth risking my life and, like, the lives of people that I care about for?
