This is a YouTube video titled "Books That Changed My Life: Tony Weaver & Three Plays PT. 1" containing a monologue or personal narrative by a single speaker reflecting on a formative experience with a teacher who accused them of plagiarism, discussing themes of intelligence, self-worth, and resilience. The content was created in July 2025.
There's this scene where the teacher thinks that you plagiarized. Yeah. That lady almost derailed my life. She had no evidence that I had cheated on anything, but she so deeply believed that I had. The unspoken message that was communicated was, I don't think you are capable of creating what I just read. She had an idea in her head about acceptable sources of excellence, and I didn't fit that mold. And when that happened, the way that I processed that pain was I was like, I am going to divorce myself from everything that you consider as the archetypical idea of what it means to be smart. And I'm gonna be smart anyway. I'm gonna go find my intelligence somewhere else. I held onto that for a really, really long time. Yeah. And what a mist.
