Chris Collins offers a short spoken review of Pearl Jam’s album Dark Matter, praising the songs and Eddie Vedder’s performance, noting the album was recorded relatively quickly, and raising interpretive questions about whether the lyrics address Vedder’s wife or broader themes about America; he also briefly praises drummer Matt Cameron.
The way that I understand the story here is that Pearl Jam usually takes a couple years to make an album. He kind of got him in a room and they made this fairly quick.
The songs are great. I think Eddie Vedder is at his best here. This is the kind of album that you get. You put it on the turntable and you get out the lyrics and you read the lyrics while you're listening to it, which is the old fashioned way to do it.
And the thing I was trying to figure out about this album is, is it about his? Is it about Eddie's wife, or is it about America?
Maybe if you know, please put it in the comments or if we know each other personally, just text me. But.
It feels like it's about America.
But it also feels like it's about his wife. And.
He'S always trying to figure out how to close the gap between.
This lost love.
Some of the lyrics are just insane. Eddie is so good. And the other thing too is Matt Cameron.
