Nikki DeLoach talks about people-pleasing and self-rejection, and why stopping to feel your feelings matters more than pushing through. She discusses the mantra "We Can Do Hard Things" and how lacking validation from others can damage your confidence.

Have you talked about this before?
Nope.
I mean, I don't, I don't know if you're aware, but when you, when you're, when you were going through some of this, like, how many people need to hear your story?
Oh, thanks for saying that.
There's.
I mean, just like the book had.
That effect on you. There's so many people out there that feel like they don't fit in, that feel inauthentic. They're trying to please.
Yes.
They're trying to survive.
Yeah.
And they don't have the circle or.
The confidence to just stop and feel.
And start pushing through some of that.
It's so hard.
It is. It's really hard.
But, you know, she has a podcast, We Can Do Hard Things. That is the, that's the call. That's the cry. Right. That's the we can do hard things that she talks about and that I said to myself thousands of times, we can do hard things. I can do hard things. It's so worth it. You are so worth it. I can't express how valuable you are as a human. Every single person.
And also a lot of times when people are feeling that way, they make themselves, like you said, small and undesirable. And it's hard to get love.
Like, I'm going to reject myself before somebody else does.
It's a self fulfilling prophecy in a way. Right.
Yeah, it is. Because then, then that mind will say, see, I was right.
I mean, just so many people go through life and nobody stops and just accepts them or validates them for who they are or sees the things that are special in them.
Yes. That is a superpower. I have to really see people.
You also have a charismatic superpower. Very charismatic. So it's inviting.
