Joan Lunden skipped her junior year of high school and graduated at 16. She describes a lifelong competitive streak and high expectations for herself, never feeling held back by limitations or doubt.
I wasn't your average bear. I was going 180 miles an hour by the time I was about 9 or 10.
So you had pretty high self-esteem.
Really high esteem, very high expectations of myself. Self-imposed? They were just there. I just had very high expectations of what I could do in the world and very few limitations. I didn't feel boundaries. Competitive? Very competitive.
So in, in high school, what, what were you like?
Skip my junior year, graduated when I was 16. Of course you did. Started college when I was 16.
