Welcome everybody to service Drive Revolution in your Friday drive by. Some food for thought going into the weekend, a little something to inspire you, make you think a little bit different. We're gonna learn something together. Now we're doing our series on Bruce Lee. See how I rolled the R's there? Bruce Lee. I think Bruce Lee has a lot of wisdom. Left us with some amazing quotes and writings. And I've been going deep into this book called the Warrior within the Philosophies of Bruce Lee. And I just thought, man, these would be great drive bys. So what I'm doing is I'm going to read a quote or a thought from Bruce Lee and then I'm going to tell you how I interpret it and maybe you think of it a little bit different and you have something to add to it. Please do that if you in the comments. But this is a good one today. I'm really excited about this one because.
Really is the, the secret to success More, more than anything else. So Bruce Lee said, knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do. Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do. And so what I imagine when I read that is a manager in his office and he's running reports and he has access to all kinds of information and sometimes he runs those reports and looks at them, sometimes he doesn't want to know the information. Like for example, there's a lot of managers out there that don't want to know what the efficiency is in the shop. They don't want to know what that one pain in the ass tech is flagging every day. That really at the end of the day is costing you more money than he's producing because he's running at 50% efficiency. You don't want to run the numbers on your quick lube and see what those techs are doing or the quick lube advisors because you really can never make a quick lube pencil financially. You don't want to look at that because you know it's bad, right? And so knowing is not enough. We must apply. We got to look. We got to look, we got to know what it is. And then the second part is we got to do, we got to take action. And another thing that it makes me think about is, you know, we get a customer complaint, we fix the customer, but it's not fixed because we didn't address the problem, we didn't fix the system, we didn't go and address why it happened. Why did we have a comeback, why didn't the advisor call? Why didn't the advisor quality control the work? Why didn't the advisor go an extra step and have some empathy and button it all up? Why did it end up on your desk or why did it end up a bad review? I'll tell you why. Because we're letting that happen. We got to do it isn't easy just knowing what the numbers are on the report or just having a customer issue and fixing it is just the beginning. What we need to do is go fix the system. We need to go fix the people. We need to role play, we need to coach, we need to practice. It's a journey, not a destination. We never arrive. You're never going to put your feet up on the desk and say I won life. Everything is perfect. That would be boring. You don't want that. You want the challenge. You want things to fix. You want to get addicted to solving problems and leading and fixing and recruiting better people and constantly upgrading your system. That's what it's all about. So let me read it one more time. Knowing is not enough. We must apply. Willing is not enough. We must do so right now. What are we going to do? What things do we know but we're not doing? Who do we need to address? What. What do we need to go after in our department that we need to fix? And let's do it. Starting Monday, let's a task list of three to five things that we're actually going to go attack on Monday and get after and let's have some fun with it. You're never going to arrive. And then do me one little favor. Watch this clip from the upcoming episode of Service Drive Revolution and have a great weekend. Next week on Service Drive Revolution, we're going to talk about our five tips for time management. Kristen. We want to change lives. We want managers to make more money, be free, happy, have a toolbox. We want to teach them new stuff. Impressed with myself. I'm in love with myself.
Well, I think it's good to love ourselves, right? But maybe you're in love. Like you're feeling an infatuation type thing going on right now.
Feels good. People are stinky. You can't put lipstick on a pig.
I don't think so.
I'm still a pig.
Is that how I laugh? Yeah, that's funny.
