Chris Collins (speaker) reports from NADA Day 3 (video uploaded Apr 2, 2016). He explains an "instant inspection" practice using a Rotary Lift placed in the service drive to inspect vehicles with customers present; the specific lift mentioned cycles in ~40 seconds, costs about $6,000 installed, and—per the speaker—has delivered a minimum of $100,000 additional labor sales (not including parts) in dealerships. He also summarizes a packed gamification workshop that drove employee engagement and can boost metrics like sales, CSI, and customer data capture.

Okay, we're here with Jim from Rotary Lifts, and I did a workshop on Thursday talking about instant inspection, and everybody stopped me going, wow, why didn't I think about that? But if you think about how inefficient service departments are, the way that we write up a customer dispatch to work, the tech's pulling the car in and out. We've been doubling sales and increasing CSI by putting lifts in the drive and actually inspecting the cars with the customers there. And then most of the time, a customer. Customer's never seen this. The underside right of the. Of the car. That's pretty. So how much is a lift that you would put in the service drive? What's the investment of the investment? Depending on the lift, this particular lift, which goes up and down in 40 seconds, his investment's going to be around $6,000 all in, bolted to the deploy. So I don't think we've ever done this in a drive where it wasn't. The minimum increase was 100,000 in labor sales, not including parts. Okay, $6,000 for 100,000amonth, for over a million a year. Are you, are you into investments? It's easy money. It is. It's easy money. So there's no excuse, really, for instant inspection for $6,000. It's too easy. Cool. Thank you so much.
Hey, Chris Collins here. And we are on day three of nada. We just got done doing a workshop for gamification. It was amazing. They were actually turning away people way before it even started at capacity. And so fun. What happened in that to see grown men turning into little boys and just to showcase how powerful gamification is and how it's your secret weapon for employee morale, for increasing sales and basically anything you want to do, collecting more customer data, getting more emails, better csi, selling more, you can use gamification to do it. And it was very fun. So I hope you can come by, come to one of my workshops the next two days, get there early because they've been packed and turning people away, and come by the booth and say, hi and we'll see you soon.
