Short transcript excerpt from a YouTube video (speaker: Chris Collins) discussing punctuality as an indicator of leadership quality and respect for the business. The speaker contrasts common acceptance of lateness with the differentiator of people who show up on time and are ready to work.
The low performer. The first thing that you would notice this happens, and you're going to notice this now as a coach, is you're going to get there at 6:45. I don't know. You probably get there at 6:30 and the meeting starts at 6:45. How many people do you think will be late?
Half.
It's maddening. And so that's an indicator of the leader, the respect they have for the business, how serious they're taking their job, all of that. But it's accepted as just part of doing business. Right. So one different differentiator would be people showing up on time, ready to work. Like just their overall approach and respect for the job.
After a while, it's a habit. I don't remember. It's been years and years since an advisor has been late to one of our meetings ever. Just doesn't happen anymore.
