Chris Collins argues that service departments lose technicians over small disputes because they don't understand the math. Customers ultimately pay for technicians, and when shops pay them $70 an hour, fighting over $2 makes no sense.
And there's a bunch of things in the shop that happen from not understanding the math. The. The first one that we hear all the time is, well, I lost him over $2. The tech. When they're. They have a tech and they lose them over $2. Yeah. If you understand the math, you would never lose anybody over $2. It would never happen.
The customer is paying for the tech. You're not. Like, it doesn't make any sense. Like, I've had service departments that were paying technicians.
I want to say, like, the highest is 70 an hour. Is that about right?
With. Without blinking. Like, because that's what the area was, and that's what it required, and the customers were paying for it. There was demand.
