What's the Best Profit & Retention Video to Show My Owner?

Short Q&A-style YouTube episode where Chris Collins and Chris Joan answer a viewer (John) asking which video to show a dealership owner to improve financial and people retention. They recommend the On Demand general managers/office managers course for shared understanding, and—if one short item is needed—the 'one hour of labor' video/exercise as the clearest, most actionable single piece to present to an owner.

Swag bag.
T shirt, coffee mug, SDR hat. All kinds of fun stuff.
Trucker hat.
Trucker hat. That's important distinction.
Yeah, it's a. It's a higher level of hat.
I'm Chris Collins, and this is Chris Joan.
Hello, everyone.
Puppy Cho.
See?
Let's go to this week's question.
I watch you guys every day. I've seen all your videos. My question for you is, I want to sit down with my owner principal, and I want him to watch a video on running a dealership and the best practices for money retention and people retention. So we keep this thing going the way we're going and maybe, you know, go to the next level. I would appreciate it if you tell me which video would be the best one for me to sit down with him and watch together.
In our On Demand, we developed a whole entire course for general managers and office managers. And let me tell you why. One of the things that happens is service managers sometimes struggle with getting certain parts of our program through. So the gamification, the pay plans, that sort of thing. So we've developed this to explain it in a way that gets everybody on the same page. So I wouldn't say it's a video. It's a course course. There's maybe seven videos. I don't know. There's. There's a few. There's a handful.
It's.
It's meant to be compact.
Yeah.
It's meant to be light.
It's fast.
Now, if you don't have time to do that or you feel like. No, Chris, my question is very specific. I. I'm saying one video, one miracle Hail Mary video that's going to fix all this for you in one sit down. I would say the one hour of labor. So in our On Demand, I would do the one hour of labor. I would print that out. I would tell your general manager, hey, grab your financial. Let's do this exercise. Because the, the one hour of labor. Exercise is everything. It's the basic foundation of how a service department works. We're selling hours. What are we making per hour we sell? It's pretty easy formula, but it puts. Puts you on the same page. And gives you a roadmap. Like it's very clear what needs to happen in order to for you to move forward in a productive way.
It is a phenomenal exercise. It is great for a GM and a service manager both to understand that there are certain things that affect the bottom line more than anything.
How about that puppy? Trulo agrees.
I do. Also, I like the idea of when you do this and you go into the owner's office and you take your laptop with you and be like, sit down. I want to show you a video. Like, what do you think the owner thinks is about to happen? Like they're going to get blackmailed.
Maybe? No.
Want to tell me where you were last week?
Right. Like do all those leading questions and then play the one hour labor video. They'll be paying attention for sure.
Would it be funny if they turned white and walked out?
Yeah.
Never came back. That's funny. Well, thanks. Thanks, John, for the question. I know you're from Washington. I hope you're a Seahawks fan. Gotta be so many cowboy fans lately.
Is it going to be a good year for the Seahawks, you think or no?
Yeah, we're going to be good.
Okay. I like that.
I like that we were good. We outplayed our talent.
Yeah, you should have been like a 6 and 11 team.
Probably.
Hope you're a Seahawks fan. Thanks for the question. We'll see everybody next time on Service Drive Revolution.
