Ruth B. explains why fans connect with her music: she writes about real human experiences without the polished pop sound. After six years away, she's returning with an album that keeps the honesty and unglamorized storytelling that made people listen in the first place.
How do you think your fans are going to, uh, take it? I think they're going to love it. I think they're going to love it. I think it's been a while, like it's been 6 years since my last album, so I've made them wait quite a bit. I think, you know, people like me for just my honesty, and I think people, when they hear my music, they know that they're hearing a real human experience. I don't— it's not like popified and glamorized, and it's just a real human going through real shit. And I think that's why people appreciate me. And I feel very lucky actually that I get to do that and that I haven't had to like switch up and like make music that I don't like.
