5 Gut Check Questions to Change Your Life

In this live workshop, Chris Prefontaine guides participants through a series of "gut check" prompts designed to sharpen execution, mindset, and planning for achieving a target outcome by August 2026. He emphasizes the importance of execution over merely acquiring knowledge, urging attendees to write down four concrete items: required skill sets, mental‑game practices, key relationships, and habits to stop. Throughout the session he shares personal routines (morning workout, gratitude journal), promotes the 31‑Day Billionaire mindset program (with Nick, Zach, and Dr. Joe Vitale), and highlights the QLS (Quantum Leap System) community as a support network. Participants discuss their takeaways, focusing on consistency, persistence, and the need to align daily schedules with long‑term goals. The session ends with practical next steps, including daily action items and recommended reading ("All In Your Head").

A scary stat is that 91% of books, at least in the United States, that get bought don't even get read. Isn't that ridiculous? So why am I saying that? Just execution is going to be what's key when you guys leave. Execution. I'm biased, but I think you can run—
Hey, she's up.
All right, well, she can set up. We got 10 minutes here. I'm biased, but I think you can and will run faster by locking arms with us. But I also know that some of you will Go through the QLS program, just bank group calls and crush it.
That's great.
Whatever you decide, but just don't leave money on the table in the process. My encouragement to you. Let me give you this little— you guys write, you can write 4 simple things down. We talked about a lot of this being mental, right? After lunch, we're going to show Nick's— sorry, Rick's portfolio. We're going to talk about the quadrant a little bit, and I'm going to give you what I call the guaranteed formula. I want to get you mentally thinking this way. You talked about exposure today, so I think this is probably good timing. What— you can sketch this out on your way home maybe, but what does it look like in August of '26 for you if you could design it? August of '26. I'm just doing it one year, but you guys can play with this concept. Yeah. This is where it gets to be the gut check. Interesting, I think. How, make believe for a second, it's not you. How would the person that wants to get to that point on August 26th, how would they go about getting there? So for example, bullet points for you to write down. What skill sets are going to be needed? Remember Zach talked about the Genius Model? What skill sets do you have to fill in between now and next August? You know where you're lacking. If it's all scripts, if you're brand new, great. That's what we got to obsess over. We obsess over scripts. What route would, would that person take for the mental game? Now, what do I mean by that? I don't know what you guys did this morning, but for me, a morning routine is critical. So I'm working out, and those that report to me from Nightly Accountability know, because I can't breathe when I'm answering all their messages that they left me the night before.
Okay.
So for me, that's important. And then I do my gratitude journal. I think I'm on 87 straight days without screwing up. If I screw up, I go back to 1. To me, that these mindset things are super important. Why? Because 80% of the thoughts we get thrown at and crap around us is negative. You can't stop it. So what route for the mental game would that person need to go? Well, first, oh, you said number 3, what mindset do you have to be at to get to that level? Well, what route to improve the mindset? Because you'd have a thing. Oh, okay. Right. We have a program I gave to you guys last night in your homework. If you want to go get it, it's called 31 Day Billionaire. It's me, Nick, Zach, and Joe Vitale, Dr. Joe Vitale from The Secret.
Oh no.
It's powerful. It's meant for you to watch one a day, one a day, one a day, one a day for 31 days. And then you stop. And I would suggest 90 days later you do it again because you're getting bombarded in between. Steve said also a good reset. Yeah, equally getting bombarded in between.
Okay.
So what skill sets, what route for the mental game, who would they hang out with and engage with? I highlighted that in my notes. I think it's the most important because that hits the mental piece. Who would they hang out with and engage with? That's why we do these. That's why we do QLS Live in Boston. So you have chances of immersing yourself with the right people. Okay. So those are kind of like some gut checks. 3 more points here. What is your current level of focus? This is another gut check. What is your current level of focus and intensity? Right now, take a snapshot. So I'm bringing you back to August 25th. And here's the key, will it produce the result you want? The next one's going to be even scarier, but what that— will it produce the result you want if you don't change anything? Those of you guys that are flying, you can play with this on a plane a little bit, journal about it, think about it. So here's the scarier one. Looking at your schedule, does that support where you want to be on August 26th? Looking at your schedule, your schedule is a lie. Are we all at the same time? I will say, to this point, nobody's had a phone go off, and I— that brings great joy to my Side note.
Okay.
Last thing. This is going to be the most challenging thing, I think, because we all have paradigms. As we grow, we still have paradigms. What, to get there on August 26th, what will you stop doing? Not start. All those other things were like, hey, what can I do? But what will you stop doing? I was speaking with the only person that knows her is Nick, so I won't be exposing anything, with my sister while I was walking last Saturday. And she was telling me about this Brutally negative conversations you have. So why don't you just not talk to them about it? Why are you talking to them if every time you talk to them you have this? So what will you stop doing in order to get you there? Any questions on that? I did it quickly because we have lunch and I don't want to stab you guys. Any questions at all? Does that resonate with you guys?
Yeah.
If you couple this, in my opinion, or some bias in it, I just told you. But if you couple that with the thought of no goals, just plans you commit to, I love goals, but make them plans that you're executing on and you won't turn back and that you'll tell 4 of the coaches, hey, help me. This is my plan. This ain't a goal. I have to, I want to be here. That's my suggestion. 4 minutes before lunch. Any thoughts or questions on this from Zoom or here? Helpful nuggets. I'm good. Still waiting. Well, let me ask you a different way. What's your biggest nugget from the morning before we go to lunch? And then we'll sync up the clock here in a second. Consistent. Consistent came up a lot. What else?
Yeah.
Biggest nugget or takeaway or action item. To incentivize the buyer to put down 20%. Nick can talk a little bit about that. Is that a question or an aha? No, it's an aha. Okay, good. I was gonna say Nick can brainstorm that, but he's the master at that because over the years we've extracted, I'll say, all we can advise while respecting them and not crippling them. Yeah, right. Important. Good. Other ahas, takeaways, action items, Zoom?
Do more.
Activities.
Do more.
Yeah. Do more.
I need to get clearer on my daily activities.
Yeah. Tomorrow, Dana, I will boil it down to the most simplest thing to do daily tomorrow. That's what I'll do for you guys. And I'll go back to when I first started and I'll share some of that stuff with you because I needed to do one thing, get a deal. There was nothing else that could distract me. I was in deep doo-doo. So we'll go over that tomorrow. What else? Who else?
My biggest takeaway is that, uh, to get outta my head and that I see people that looks just like me, that if they can do it, I can do it too. So it's more about me. I've, uh, connected with the mindset. of just saying, it's possible, I can do it. So this is my biggest takeaway. I love it.
It is the biggest thing. Nick, can you grab the little book on my shelf that said Get Out of Your Head? Debbie, I'm going to mail you this book. Can you give Sue on Slack your mailing address, please? I'm going to mail you a book. The book is called— when Nick gets here— get out. It's All in Your Head. It's All in Your Head. Not sure where to get started? Go to smartrealestatecoach.com/getgoing for free books, strategy calls, and a whole bunch more. We're going to help you get going the wicked smart way. We've been after this for over a decade doing exactly that. It's a super easy read. Jessica had a challenge about a month ago. You guys haven't read this. And I said, get this book. It really helped her. And then I heard just recently she told Steve about it. It's— look, guys, Whoops, put that page back. That's super easy read. Before. Hey, page 94 is loose, Debbie, when you get it. Tell Sue to mail this to Debbie. Thank you guys. I would suggest you all get it. It's It's All in Your Head. Get Out of Your Way. In the author's name, one one name, Russ.
Got it.
Only guy who did that. That's why I bought it. I thought it was cool he did that. All right, who else has an aha? Everybody has. I hope at least one nugget I gave you.
Yeah, well, 2. To mirror what Steve said, that was important, consistency. But the other one was persistence, because I heard several times where there was a huge gap between first and the second deal or—
Or no deals.
Or no deals. And that just to hang in there and have that faith that if you're consistent or if you keep doing the work, it'll come through. Yeah.
You know what that makes me think of, David? When we first started, I remember doing our first QLS event with 14 people. It was like this in the basement of a chamber building. And we were like, me, Nick, and Zach going, okay, we gotta get one deal. Someone's gotta get one deal because our community was tiny. And I think we, I think 2 people had a deal in the room when we did it. But now it's just, you know, look what happened last month. So the, so the proof of concept's crazy, but I give credit to those, to your point, that were with us early on, Rusty, Mike, Mike, Mike McCree's been with us since 2017. We had no tools. It was, get on and follow me and let's do some deals, right? So it's big to realize that what you're saying, but also understand the whole community now can play.
