Do You UPGRADE Your INTERNAL Software?

Chris Prefontaine argues that most people stop learning after school and operate on outdated internal software. Real growth means stacking small learning increments, embracing discomfort, and cutting stupid habits that don't move you toward your goals.

Welcome to this week's Motivational Monday. I've got a question for you guys to ponder, and a lot of times with these Motivational Mondays, I think that's the best way to go at it because it's going to take some reflection. Are you operating on old, what I'd call, internal software? Life demands, business demands that we constantly upgrade, right? So what's your upgrade plan would be my next question. What is it? This is certainly about constantly learning, right? Yeah. I often refer to it in the community as stacking, if you will, because it's hard to take on this big thing in your mind right now that you say, okay, 2 years from now I have to be this. It's a lot more palatable to say, how can I constantly upgrade my software, my internal software? How can I constantly stack these little learning things? And what's interesting is the reason I said this might be a good reflection point is think about school, right? High school, when you move to high school from elementary school, just think for a second. High school is not elementary school, right? And college is not high school. Life and business is not college, yet many of us stop learning. Like, we do the school, we get done college, and we stop. So many people, like, just look around you. So many people. And I know people will say to me in masterminds and even online and other forums, well, it's difficult, or it's, I'm uncomfortable when I do this, or it's hard. Here's the thing, guys. Comfort, and success don't hold hands. Comfort and success don't walk together. No one said it was easy. Like, like let's take our niche for example. Nobody said it was easy. In fact, uncomfortable and sacrifices and processes and constantly stacking and constantly upgrading your internal software is all part of success. And I, and I do wanna say this before we wrap up, and I, and I invite you to email me your thoughts on this whole Motivational Monday this week, chris@smartrealestatecoach.com. I wanna know what your biggest takeaway was. In the more— in the subject line, just put Motivational Monday. And the last thing I'll tell you is I don't want to act like it's always about doing, doing, doing, doing, doing, because you might think, okay, well, I only have so much time in a day. Yeah, we all have the same amount of time in a day. It's not all about doing. What stupid things are you doing right now that you can stop doing? See? So internal upgrading the software, stacking little learning pieces over and over and over again, constantly upgrading our software in our life, and simultaneously stop doing the stupid things that you shouldn't be doing that aren't moving you closer to your goals. That's it, it's that simple. So I invite you to think through these things that I shared with you today. Maybe play it again, maybe share it with a few people in your center of influence, maybe share it if you're in a mastermind group. Make sure you subscribe here, make sure they are. Most importantly, email me, chris@smartrealestatecoach.com, and let me know your biggest takeaway or aha or reminder that this Motivational Monday did for you. And I'll tell you guys, there's one way to sort of constantly upgrade your software, and that's to hang out with people that are constantly upgrading their software, right? We tend to do what people do that we hang out with, and they're a bigger influence than you can imagine. Well, come hang out with us at our live event. It's the biggest one we do every year. It's been on since 2016, and it's the QLS Live Event. This particular year, if you're seeing this prior to the fall, it's September 23rd and 24th. Just 2 power-packed days in Boston, Massachusetts, like 2 stops from the airport, 2 T stops from the airport. Love to see you there, and I can guarantee you, you'll leave there with some upgraded software. You'll leave there with a bigger mind. You'll leave there with more contacts. You'll leave there with a center of influence who also is into upgrading their software. All that equals what? Better life, better business. See you there.
