A deep-sea fishing trip off Miami in late 2023 left the speaker with a sailfish catch and a clearer picture of what financial freedom means: the ability to afford experiences and time with family, not accumulating stuff.
Yeah. So I've been deep sea fishing, I think 4 times in my life. And then I was 0 for 3 before this trip. This was in, this was late of '23. And I actually met with my 2 partners in Nighthawk Equity. And we don't normally do fun things. It's always like, let's get stuff done. But we actually went out and on the, off the coast of Miami, and then we all caught the sailfish. And, uh, I was like, man, that is, that is amazing. So this is now on my wall, but really to me, like financial freedom is all about experiences. Like there's other people who want to get rich and they buy stuff. Okay. That's cool. For me, like if you look at the photos on my wall, it's all about experiences and a lot of it with, with my family as well. So to me, I associate experiences and the ability to afford those experiences and also to afford the time away from whatever's income producing. I associate debt for financial freedom. So that's why that's on my wall.
