How to MENTALLY Prepare for Your DEALS

Chris Prefontaine leads a group coaching session on mental preparation for sales deals, focusing on visualization before calls and overcoming imposter syndrome. Participants discuss how limiting beliefs keep them stuck in lease purchases and owner financing, and how expanding their toolkit and viewing other agents as collaborators opens new opportunities.

It's not new stuff, I'm telling you. Why don't everybody just do what we tell them to do? This is what we think all the time, by the way. We're like, what the hell?
Why don't you just do everything, not just a few things?
That shit works. Did you guys, after day 1, like just what we did so far, is there any area or several areas where you feel more clarity yet? Using just the word clarity, are you more clear with any piece of your business or your life from what we did yesterday? What are your thoughts on clarity?
I would say for myself, yes. I want to explore more of these resources, for example. And, um, it always helps me to just get re-envisioned for, you know, like even just hearing what you're saying now, I have— I feel like I have clarity because whereas Russell is feeling like if he gets a deal, it's going to go to crap, I'm feeling like, well, if I get a take and it's not going to sell, so what's it matter? Um, and I, I was actually telling Leah before I came, I think that like I do the follow-ups, but it feels like I'm just gonna call, they're just gonna be sold. And so it's just helpful hearing you like, well, yeah, of course that's what's happening because that's what you're expecting. Um, so just even that's just clarity. Like, you know, I need to freaking expect that they're gonna wanna do business with me. 'Cause I have something.
Visualize it, John. What, uh, I, You guys, I don't know, it's not new stuff I'm telling you. I just want, uh, you made a comment, why don't everybody just do what we tell them to do? This is what we think all the time, by the way. We're like, what the hell?
Why don't you just do everything, not just a few things?
And so with the visualization before you call, picturing the seller going, yeah, I didn't sell you, I need your help, come up. That shit works for your mental peace. So try that before you go on a session. Um, Carola, same with you, high end, right? Visualize that before you get on the phone, and they can't wait to talk to you. I can tell you that I can't wait to talk to that guy that we left messages for. That's how I feel about it. So you just gotta change that a little bit, right? Anyone else on clarity? You guys on Zoom?
Clarity is just hearing you talk about other ways to make money. I've been, you know, for 5 years, it's Lease purchase, owner financing, subject to, AO, and that's what I've been coaching since I've been in this lane. Yeah.
Right?
And then it's the imposter syndrome. When you talk about, you know, these meetups, I feel like if I go to these meetups that I don't— I'm not worthy, or, you know, even though I, I probably, like you said, I probably know 95% of—
I, I would say 99%.
Yeah, but Mentally, I, I've been stuck in this lane, and if I go to these meetups, I'd be like, you know, oh, this is the only thing I do, and I'm not creat— I, I, I'm in myself, I don't, I don't feel like I'm creative enough to do what you're talking about. So now I'm, I'm starting to like, why not? You know, why can't I just go to these meetups and say, hey, this is what I do?
If you went to meetups—
It's not a competition, it's collaboration. I always thought it was a competition. It's more I need to start reaching out.
I've done the same.
You know, that's what I'm getting clarity on, Matt, where I need to start expanding.
Russ, that's a great goal for you, and you can lean on Zach to help you. Because if you just— if you don't expand, you just do your 4 things, you know more than 99% of the room. They don't know it. We've proved it a million times at speaking. Great. That's great.
