The 4-Step Guaranteed Formula for Success

Chris Preet outlines a four-step framework for success: be honest about where you are, set a specific weekly goal, identify mental blocks, and build a massive action plan with mentors. He spent four years stuck after 2008 before applying these steps himself.

Okay, it's Chris Preet. Welcome to this week's Motivational Monday. I want to share with you a very simple but very effective 4-step guaranteed formula for success. Surprise, surprise. Nothing to do with real estate, even though every single boot camp in the Trenches boot camp we run here at our office— I hope you can attend one soon. They're free. Every time we do this, people go, ah, there's a light bulb or two that goes off, but it has nothing in the steps specifically about real estate, although I'll integrate some of the things we do into them. Okay, so here we go. 4 steps, real simple. Write these down. If you're driving, maybe record them. If not, go back and revisit them. Subscribe. Make sure you don't miss any of these. Step 1, be honest and clear about where you are right now. This is a biggie, guys. Like, this is really big because I'll say in the In the Trenches boot camp, okay, Who wants to leave their job? Yeah, I do. Who wants to get after these free paydays worth, you know, $45,000 to $350,000 per deal? Yeah, I do. And then they're not willing to take a really hard look, a candid look at where they are in order to then go to my next few steps here and bridge the gap. So number one is be honest and clear about where you are right now. It's just a gut check. Okay. Number 2, and we're happy to help you with this. You want to email us? My email is my personal email. The company is Chris, Chris@SmartRealEstateCoach.com. Now, step 2, decide this week, like make this your week, right? I don't care what time of year this is. Make this your week where you go, all right, here's where I want to go, because this is scary too. The only thing stopping us, the only thing stopping you Is you. It's scary. For 4 years, example, for 4 years, I was the only thing stopping me after the 2008 crash. The national market came down, but because they blamed it on me and I was having a pity party for 4 years, I was stuck. Can you imagine that? And when, when 2 or 3 people said to me, you got to get out of your own way, you got to get with someone who can help you and you got to find a way to pay for that and you got to get a mentor, etc., etc. Then boom, the light switch went on. I was— it was a whole different path. What the heck did I do for 4 years? I was stopping me. I wasn't thinking big enough, right? So step 1, be honest and clear about where you are. Step 2, decide this week where you want to go. You're the only thing stopping you. And usually it's not who you think you are, but who you think you're not. That was me. No question. I'll say that again. It's usually not who you think you are, but who you think you're not. That's why I say we kind of stop ourselves, right? So that's step 2. Step 3, now that we know where we are, we're clear on that, and we've kind of expanded our brain a little bit to not stop. Like, think big. Act as if there's no way you can lose. Like, where do you want to go? Steve Jobs said, stop trying to connect all the dots to get there. Don't think about that yet. Just where do you want to go? Just if you could wave a wand today, just for one second, pretend. Okay, step 3, now that you know that, is identify the blocks in your brain that could be real and that could be perceived. For example, my situation, I had a lot of blocks. I was broke. I was in a one-bedroom apartment. Like, I had a lot of blocks, but a lot of them were perceived too. Like, oh my gosh, I can't do this anymore. Oh my gosh, I must be a failure. Like these things, right? Those are perceived. That wasn't true. That was my brain. So identify the core issues blocking your path. Right. Then get with someone. I don't care if it's us or someone else, guys. Get with someone. In my case, it was people like my wife, my father, this gentleman, Cle, who owned a bunch of businesses. I wrote about him in my book. Like, I need to get with people to get me out of my own way and identify a massive, massive action plan based on, okay, I'm here, I want to be here, but I got all this crap here. I don't know if it's real or not, but I got all this crap here. So I did. So go get with them and Create a massive action plan. Let me give you a small example. This is just one example. We were creating a course or recreating a course recently in the team, and I said massive action plan would be things like this. I said, let's just for one second not limit ourselves and let's wave that wand and let's pretend there's nothing stopping us. What are all the ways we could improve that? Like just listings and don't list it going, yeah, but this team member might not like it. Oh, I don't know if we can video that. Just list it. There must have been 30 or 40 things that came out like that. Boom. Why? Because we did this exercise. Massive action plan. Okay. I think Tony Robbins talks about a lot. You might call it something different, but just pour into the paper with your trusted mentor, advisor, friend. Just make sure that they can make you think bigger. And I'd love to do it with you. Right. But, but for now, those are the 4 steps for Guaranteed Formula. And again, I said at the beginning, I warned you, I said, surprise, surprise, they're not real estate. But I tell you what, when you get these, when you, when you not just get these, when you practice these over and over again and you revisit them in your journal, like this should be something that's in your journal and you revisit that and you revisit the spot you were to think big. It's going to change you. It's going to change your trajectory, guys. It's going to. Not sure where to get started?
