In this Motivational Monday video, Chris Prefontaine delivers a hard‑charging message to real‑estate investors, arguing that the market is indifferent to personal fears, media narratives, or any excuses people use to avoid action. He illustrates how investors constantly generate reasons—high rates, low inventory, elections, economic downturns—to justify inaction, yet those who wait for perfect conditions remain stuck. Using a water‑flow analogy, he explains that opportunities never disappear; they merely change shape, citing the shift from fast‑selling homes in 2021 to longer‑standing inventory today, which now gives sellers more equity and flexibility. Prefontaine stresses that creative deal‑making and adaptability, skills he honed after the 2008 crash, are essential. He critiques the reliance on headlines and social media, urging investors to engage directly with sellers across the 80‑plus markets his community touches, because real conversations reveal hidden opportunities. The core call‑to‑action is to stop asking if the market is good and instead ask what opportunities the current market creates, followed by an invitation to a free masterclass (smartrealestatecoach.com/mastersyoutube) that showcases how investors are thriving despite market challenges.

The market doesn't care that rates are high right now. It doesn't. The market doesn't care that you might be scared about the market. The market doesn't care that you're waiting for something to change in the market, which so many conventional people are doing right now. The market doesn't care what the media is saying. So important. And that's exactly why some people are winning right now while others are standing still. Hey, welcome back to Motivational Monday. Let's have a conversation today that some people need to hear, especially in this market. Sorry, let me rephrase that. Everyone should hear it so they're clear about this. Not some people, everyone. The market doesn't care about your excuses because we all have thousands of them if we want. Now before you get offended, newsflash, neither does success, right? That's right. Success doesn't care either. Look, every year I've been in this business, somebody has had a reason they couldn't move forward. I shouldn't even say year. I say every month when I run one of our workshops that we call our Deal Lab, there's a reason. It's a good reason to them. Too much competition, not enough inventory, rates low, rates too high, election year's coming, not an election year, the economy's bad, the media said that this is a bad time to get in. Real estate, good economy, you fill in the blank. The bottom line is it's crazy. There is always something, always. And the people who wait for that perfect condition, guess what happens? They're still waiting. Guys, I'm not going to call someone out, but there was a person that came to one of our events, gosh, I think it was 2018, who came back last year and told me the same thing. They're still beat up from the 2008 crash. I went through it. I took my head out of the stand eventually— out of the sand, rather. Meanwhile, the people who build businesses understand something very, very important: opportunity never disappears. It simply changes shape or direction. It's like water— it finds a path, and if not you, someone else. Think about that for a second. In 2021, people were making money because homes were flying off the shelf. Today, people are making money because homes are sitting longer. Interesting, right? Back then, sellers held the leverage. Today, sellers have lots of equity and the sellers are becoming more flexible. Hmm. Different market, different opportunity, same result. See? The problem's not the market, ever. That's why I love creative. That's why I pivoted into creative after the crash. The problem is that most people become emotionally attached to how they think success should look. And when the market changes, they don't. Voilà. So they get this picture, it's in stone, and it's gonna be that way for the next 30— no. That's why and where they get stuck. Okay, so listen carefully, please, please. The market owes you and I nothing. The market doesn't care about your schedule or mine. The market doesn't care about our fears. Doesn't care about your confidence level, doesn't care about your excuses. I could keep going on. We actually have signs and t-shirts in the office here that say, life rewards action. Well, guess what? The market rewards action, period. We have t-shirts and banners that say it because I think it's so true. And here's what's interesting. Most of the people complaining about the market haven't actually talked to enough sellers to even know what's happening in the market. There is no one market. There's pockets all over the country. They've talked to headlines in their mind. They've talked to social media in their mind. They've talked to their fears, but they haven't talked to enough real people. And real conversations tend to change everything, right? We have sort of this microcosm of society in that our family community here touches like 80 or 82 markets right now. So we directly and indirectly are talking with loads of people every week. That's where opportunity lives, with people. Not on YouTube, not in the news, not in the comments section on social media, with people. So this week, I'm gonna invite you to stop asking, what if the market gets worse? Or, is this a good time to be in real estate? Instead, start asking this. Given the market, what opportunity is being created right now? You can do that constantly because I promise you somebody's making money right now. Somebody's solving problems right now. Somebody's closing deals right now. Here's a big question for you. Gut check. Big gut check. Why isn't it you? It's your choice. The market's not stopping you. It's not. The excuses are. Period. If you want to see exactly how investors are thriving in this market instead of complaining about it, Watch my free master's class. I'm about free, guys. There's so much out there for opportunity. Watch it for free. Go to smartrealestatecoach.com/mastersyoutube. Because as a reminder, the market is not your obstacle ever. It's your opportunity. You're not understanding how to adapt it. That's your obstacle. Let's get after it together. Look forward to seeing you next week.
