I have an entrepreneurial management degree and I just like, a lot of business owners don't even know how to do their own bookkeeping or, or any of those, uh, essential tasks. They don't even know what a P&L is. And I thought, oh, I can help businesses, uh, run more efficiently. But for whatever reason, in Salt Lake City, real estate investing is huge. And so a lot of these business networking events that I was going to, uh, were actually real estate investing, uh, networking events. And so I thought maybe I should just get into this. This is something that I can do part-time cuz I didn't wanna work full-time. I have 6 homeschooled kids and I just wasn't interested in going to a job and in graphic design, photography, or whatever, I was looking maybe $50K, $60K a year. And I thought, well, with landlording or real estate investing, I can really make more than my husband. I can make— there's no ceiling on it. And I started thinking about it. It took me a couple of months to really commit. And then after that, I just dove into it and started learning everything I could, going to tons of networking events, started buying deals from wholesalers and looking for commercial stuff like apartment complexes and self-storage units.
