In this Motivational Monday video, speaker Chris Prefontaine addresses the pervasive problem of distractions and how they sabotage progress, especially for real‑estate professionals. He introduces an "earplug" metaphor, likening effective distraction filtering to wearing noise‑cancelling earplugs that let in only useful information. To illustrate the power of focus, he recounts his own experience after the 2008 real‑estate crash: despite widespread criticism, he bought 12‑14 properties within six months, grew his portfolio to 60‑70 properties, and reached a $1 million milestone in his "3 Payday System." He then pivots to promoting his community’s resources: free Thursday "Wicked Smart Sit‑Down" sessions (featuring guest experts like lead‑generation specialist Nick), free books via wickedsmartbooks.com/youtube, and the content‑rich QLSlive.com event. Throughout, he urges listeners to adopt the earplug mindset, engage with the free resources, and attend live events to experience the supportive, content‑focused environment his team provides.

Welcome to another Motivational Monday. You know what, guys? I know this for a fact as I look at our whole community. Distractions in general most definitely impede your progress. They hurt you. They kill your progress. Distractions of all sorts. We all have them. So I did a rant on a Monday. We do like what we call Monday rants in our community on Slack, and I hope someday you're in the community and you can see these. There are always things that we, either myself or one of the coaches, one of the leaders, just gets an itch about. And the one I did and I want to share with you was to put in earplugs. Now what do I mean by that? Well, here's an example before I tell you exactly what I mean by that because it's going to address the distraction thing for you. After the crash, after the 2008 real estate crash, nobody was buying and people told me I was nuts to buy. I'm telling you, it was coming from left and right. My wife to this day remembers it. Yet in the next 6 months after they all screamed at me not to buy real estate, I went off and accumulated like 12 or 14 properties. We hit $1 million in the 3 Payday System. We hadn't had it trademarked then, but we hit that. And of course, we built that portfolio up to 60 or 70 properties running into, running into COVID. Now here's why I shared that story with you, and here's how it relates to the you wearing earplugs. Is the world— ask yourself this question— is the world full of people who get up every single day and do whatever it takes for as long as it takes, no matter what, to accomplish all their goals? No, it's not. The world is not. It's— that's not society, right? So let's talk about the earplugs so we don't get caught up in the noise. There's a next level, right? The AirPod Pro, the AirPods. That's why I got them on my desk, so I want to Tie this together for you— has the noise-canceling feature where you can still be kind of listening and let some things in, right? So what happens if you're not great at putting on earplugs? What happens if you're not great at filtering all the noise, especially when you get busy? And our goal as a community is to help you design the lifestyle of your dreams, to change your life. It's not just about doing a deal. So you're going to have distractions as you build that up and stack things. But I can tell you what happens if you don't get good at that. You get dragged backwards literally by the suction of people not going in the same direction at the same pace with you, in the same alignment with you. Because make no mistake about it, who you listen to, who you hang out with, who you rub elbows with, who you allow to let in, so to speak, without the earplugs, really matters. Really matters. I invite you to, if you're not familiar with our community, come hang out with us. It's free, guys. On every Thursday at 4 o'clock PM Eastern Standard Time, we have a Wicked Smart Sit Down. Sometimes we have a guest, like we have a gentleman coming on tonight. Uh, you're not going to see this till after he's on, so I'll give you his link here in a minute. And his focus is not mindset like I'm talking to you now. His focus is lead generation. Does that not take away a lot of stress if you have a bunch of sellers to talk to that are anxious to speak with you. Go to smartrealestatecoach.com/leadminingpros. He's awesome, his name is Nick. But my point is, we bring people like that from our dream team into these Wicked Smart Sit-Downs. We're on them, me, my son Nick, my son-in-law Zach, our amazing team, our coaches. We're there to help you. That's an environment that you can glean a lot from. And I'll give you some other free resources because I'm big on free. I want you to be able to see, taste, touch, feel the community and what we do, and only then, if you want to get committed, we'll help you. But at least you can look for free. Go to wickedsmartbooks.com/youtube and grab our free bestselling book. We're actually going to send you a few. All right? Now ideally, as I wrap this up and encourage you to wear earplugs and be conscious of that this week, I'd love to meet you in person at the QLS Live event. There's no better place. QLSlive.com. You can't go to that event and leave there going, hmm, I wonder if the community works. I wonder if these people are good. I wonder if these people are the same thinking as me. I wonder if these people are going to support me. You can't leave saying that. It's just overwhelming support and positive and content. I had a student, he's coming in this week, high 6 associate, highest, one of the highest levels we have. He said, okay, I'm going to go to the event. I've been to a lot of events and they just sell stuff, so if I'm already in, should I go? And I say, whoa, whoa, whoa, huge question. Thank you for asking. Our events are content-rich. In fact, this event, we have like one outside speaker and he's coming to provide content. Content. Nothing but content. Okay? Now, there'll be booths and vendors and things you can interact with, but we are going to load you up with content. Wear your earplugs this week, guys. Make it a great week.
