Chris Prefontaine says hire an executive assistant and virtual assistant immediately when entering a new market, so you stay on the phone prospecting. He targets 15 new leads in the first week and recommends delegating CRM data entry, emails, and errands to keep the founder focused on calling.

I get asked all the time, what would you do if you went into a new market, right? And not broke, because I was broke when I started. So say I had a little bit of resources today, I would go into a market and I would hire an EA and a VA day one so I could just do what I do again on the phones. I think that's what you already had in kind of the background knowledge of being able to talk. Good question.
It seems like there might be some benefit in making your own calls at first, just to get warm.
There is. Yeah. So you would go up solo. If you're aggressive, you'd go solo phone, then you'd transition into like month 3, EA, then BA.
A little bit different.
Well, EA before BA. Because You're going to get caught up in the minutia of the CRM and the— because once you start prospecting aggressively, you're going to have leads. And if you have leads, you're going to get caught up in entering the computer and all that crap. I remember doing it. So I'd prospect all day, then I have a stack of stuff I got to enter, or in my case, file away or send emails to. That all can be done by the EA. So week 1, you should have 15 leads, and those should be getting emails and getting in the database, right? So you need EA. And your personal stuff, errands, go to the house, get pictures, everything. Anything that's not calling is that, is EA. You know that? I use a lot of EAs outside of the business too. Oh, is that so? So EAs like outside of the business as well? I use and he'd say like errand things. Yeah, if they're local, like Sue does a ton of stuff for us, whatever's going on. Not sure where to get started? Remember you said something about hiring? I was going to say, that's not a virtual relationship.
No, you can do what he did. I love local if you can do it for the personal reasons, but you could have 2 separate people doing that. Like, Rusty will hit me on his nightly accountability and say, I had to go out to the house to do such and such. And he knows I'm going to hit him on, Why don't you just for $10 hire a retiree or a college person to go do your stuff locally so you can have a virtual high-end EA and then have somebody do errands locally?
And every time I tell Chris I went to put out property signs, he says, when are you going to just hire somebody off Craigslist? So, keep it simple. There's people looking to do it. Yeah.
