In this motivational video, Chris Prefontaine challenges the common claim that many people are "burned out." He argues that what is often labeled burnout is actually a state of indecision and lack of clarity, especially among real‑estate entrepreneurs who juggle multiple strategies, courses, and tools. He explains that decision fatigue stems from constantly weighing options, and that clarity emerges from taking action, not the other way around. Chris cites Steve Jobs on avoiding over‑planning and emphasizes the need to pick a single lane, follow a mentor who has survived market cycles, and commit to one strategy (he favors the "creator" niche). He urges viewers to stop consuming endless information, make one concrete decision this week, and use momentum to solve problems. Throughout, he promotes his Smart Real Estate Coach resources (free books, strategy calls, roadmaps) as a way to get started.

All right. Welcome back to Motivational Monday. Today, I want to challenge you, as usual, challenge you with something that I hear constantly in the community and outside the community. People tell me that they're burned out. You've probably heard this from people. Could be family, could be coworkers. They're overwhelmed, they're exhausted, they're mentally fried. You hear all these things, right? Sometimes that's true. That's sort of life. I'm not, I'm not watering that down, but most of the time it isn't actually true. Sorry. It's just not in reality. When you rip this apart a little bit, most people are not burned out. They're what then? They're unclear. And there's a huge difference there. See, burnout comes from what? If you think about it, burnout comes from doing a little too much, right? And so some people might challenge this, right? And I'm not even 10% into my video yet. Okay. Confusion comes from trying to do too many things all at once. And I see that all the time. Example, somebody is looking at, say, wholesaling, and then they're looking at another niche in real estate. If you're new, then they're looking at creative deals, then they're looking at multifamily, then they're over here looking at AI, and then they're looking at Social media, and then looking at another course. I could keep going. Then another strategy, then a fancy shiny CRM, then another shiny object. I can go on and on. Geez. By the end of the month, they've consumed 100 hours of information and accomplished what? Almost nothing. So get this. What I just described is not burnout. It's definitely not burnout. What is it then? I hope you know, but from where I was going, it's just indecision, plain and simple. See, our brain gets tired when it's constantly making decisions. And some of you have been making the same decision for 6 months or maybe even 6 years, sadly. So for example, if you keep asking yourself, should I do this? Should I do that? Should I wait? Should I jump? Should I commit? I hear it when I'm running these Deal Lab classrooms we have. Meanwhile, people around you are moving. Someone's moving. Someone's always moving faster than you. Not because they're smarter. What's the difference? They just decided. They took action while you were saying, wow, wait till blank, you fill in the blank. And one of the biggest breakthroughs that I ever had in business was realizing that clarity doesn't come before action. I used to think it did. I used to think everything had to be perfect and then action. No, Clarity comes from action. Most people have that backwards. They think, okay, as soon as I get clear, then I'll move. No, you move and clarity shows up. I love what Steve Jobs said, and I quote him all the time. Stop trying to connect all the dots for a perfect, clear pathway. And then I just added that, set the beacon, right, for your ultimate destination and then go. Sometimes you just don't know the exact destination. It's okay as long as you get there. You don't know the exact trail. So you make the calls, you talk to sellers, you have detailed conversations, you stumble a little bit. It's normal. Then you adjust. Okay, that's great. And eventually the fog starts to lift. I promise you it will, but it never lifts while you're standing still, right? Of course not. I promise you that. So that's why I simply tell people, look, especially in real estate, pick a lane. Pick a lane with someone who has gone through economic and life cycles, Pick a lane with someone who has been where you want to be, right? Because of the internet now, this is not difficult to do. What I'm, what I'm telling you to do. Example of experience. Not sure where to get started? Go to smartrealestatecoach.com/getgoing for free books, strategy calls, and a whole bunch more. We're going to help you get going the wicked smart way. We've been after this for over a decade doing exactly that. Recently on my podcast, the gentleman said to me, look, Chris, and I'm not going to expose him, but he said to me, What I always scream about. He said, look, I've been in the business for X amount of years, but it was only like 10. So he didn't go through a lot of cycles. He said, I got my butt handed to me in the last few years because the market changed. See, I've been through that 3 times. So with the right support and the right person, and then I'm not so naive to say it's only me, but pick someone who's been through these cycles, right? And then commit for a few years. Stop negotiating with yourself every single day. You don't need 5 strategies. You need one. Of course, again, I'm biased for creator because it works best in any market and has one of the highest quality of income, if not the highest quality of income versus just quantity than any other niche. I've dabbled with a lot of them. You don't need, you also don't need 10 goals. Need one to start. You don't need another month of preparation. You just need to start moving. Because the longer you stay unclear and not moving, the more exhausted you're going to become, to go back to my opening thought. And you'll start calling it burnout when the real problem was what? You should know now, indecision. Okay. So here's my challenge this week. What is that one thing that you've been avoiding deciding, big or small? Could be one strategy, one action to like do something or Maybe it's to come with us, whatever it might be. One conversation, one commitment of some sort. Just one. Make the decision, then go execute. Because understand this, momentum solves problems. That's it. It's going to solve problems that thinking never will. Hmm. Ponder on that one just, just for a bit. It's going to solve problems that thinking never will. If you're sitting there wondering where to start, right, do this. Stop collecting information and start getting direction. Start moving.
