18 Year Old Makes $20K/Month in High Ticket Sales (Started Broke in High School)

Nathan went from broke in high school to closing $20K/month in high-ticket sales at 18. He learned to ask questions strategically rather than recite scripts, and optimized his sleep and diet to work fewer hours while earning more. Christian Polk, his sales coach, is flying him to Vietnam once he hits that number consistently.

In this interview, I talk with one of my clients. When he first started working with me, he was a broke kid in high school. Now he's 18 years old and makes 20,000 per month as a high ticket closer. If you don't know, I am. My name is Christian Polk. Made a ton of money in sales and now all I do is just focus on getting other people to make a ton of money in sales. And this is a prime example. Success leaves clues. So take notes. Let's dive into it, dude. Let's dive into the interview. First and foremost, introduce yourself and how long have we been working together?
My name is Nathan. I've been in the high ticket space for like the last two years and that's how long I've been thinking. I've been working with Christian as well for like the last two years. Yeah, like, it's been a while, bro. Been a while.
I don't think it's been quite two years, but it's been, it's been a hot minute, right? I think it's been about. Yeah, it was definitely, definitely a year. It's been at least a year.
Yeah. I think because I remember I was 16 walking around in high school and then I turned 17, I was still walking.
Yeah. So it's, it's been a hot minute. And because you're in school, because you're in high school, it did make some of the things in terms of you getting on a good offer and everything along those lines, like, more difficult.
So.
But now that you're out of high school, you're actually able to do something full time. You hit a record month. Tell me about that. What happened?
Oh, Yeah, I hit 20k per month. Yeah, like, it was, it was a fun feeling. I think the biggest thing was just like consistency.
Yeah.
But yeah, that was my record month. 20k. Like, I've had smaller months of like 10k some months where like I made no money as well. But yeah, like actually being consistent. This is my first 20k month and then it's looking to be consistent as well. So that's good.
Yeah, so you told me, like, it's been, it's seven days into the new month and you're already like on pace to outpace 20.
Oh, yeah, easily. Yeah. Even with less days in February, like a PIF a day.
Yeah.
I should be outpacing 20k easily.
Yeah. So let's see, like, hopefully by next month you're hitting 30. But let's talk about like the 20k per month and let's just talk about kind of how you're selling before, like, when we first started working together. I'm pretty sure you're doing like your own agency, right? Like, you're kind of doing your own agency, but you wanted to step into the high ticket space. Like, what was life like back then? You know, naive. Nathan. 16 years old.
Yeah.
Like, what was saying what was things like in the, like, before we started working together?
Oh. Like, I was, I was still in the NDP space back then. But even when I took those sales calls for, like, my own agency, what it was was like, I understood, like the NDP process, but I didn't really understand, like, why I was doing things. Like, I feel like that's the biggest thing right there is like, I knew the word tracks. I knew what to say, but I didn't understand why. Like, I was saying it. So it didn't really fit, like, in the context of the actual call, if that makes sense. Like, I was just saying words just to say words to close them.
Right.
That's really.
We didn't actually understand, like, the why behind it. And because you're talking to people, you're a younger guy.
You.
You looked younger, right? This facial hair is new. When you were just saying things and you didn't know why you're actually saying them, how did that actually translate to your sales calls? If you can think back.
Yeah, I used to sell realtors back then. So lots of fun. And especially when they sense when you're saying things, to say things, that's when the entire college shuts off. Like, they're very, very closed off from the beginning. But especially once they sense that. Yeah, they're completely shut off.
Yeah. I, I love realtors because they think they know sales. They have giant egos. Right? That's what I told you. Like a media of like, oh, yeah, Realtors. It's good. Like you selling realtors, it's gonna make. You have to be good at what you do. Right? Because, like, they give you. There's such a squirrely bunch and they will take any exit that you give them. And before, like, we started working together, like, generally speaking, how do those calls end, dude?
Like, most of those, like, they'd give me. It was just like the dumbest. Most screens as well. Like, it'd just be like, think about it. But sometimes, like, it wouldn't even get to the end. Like, my discos, like, discoveries would run like maybe 40 minutes or something because, like, I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing in the discovery.
Yeah.
And some of them would be like, super short, like 10 minutes. Because it'd be super closed off. I just ask all the questions, like, just check it off like on a list. And I'd like. There's no actual fundamental process like what I was trying to get at in their discovery. So some of them would like, they're all just end. And think about it. Like, I think my, like my clothes are. When I run my own agency was horrible. But some of them wouldn't even, like, I wouldn't even pitch right. That's how something would end.
Yeah. And then what did you actually see for me, if you can remember that you're like, okay, maybe this guy knows what he's talking about. Yeah, let's see. About working together. Yeah.
You know, it was back in the early days when you had that low ticket school, like the low, low ticket. Yeah. But it was your YouTube specifically. I think it was the videos. It was your calls on. Back when you're on a seventh. Yeah. Like your calls with actual prospects. There's that one younger guy, I don't remember his name, but it was. You're walking him through. And it's like the call with like the long silence. That call.
Yeah, yeah. Something that I got a cease.
That.
YouTube video that I got a cease and assist letter. So unfortunately it's not on YouTube anymore. But for a little bit of context, it was a call where I was talking to a younger prospect who was making like 8k per month, but he really wanted to get to like 20, 30, $40,000 per month. And there's a lot of fear. And in that, overcoming his fear, it was just sitting a lot in silence. And. And because you're in the mastermind, you still have access to that call. You can go back to it, all that fun stuff. But if you look, there's like literally basically three to five minutes at the end where I don't say anything. And then at the end of, he just goes crazy. Let's do it right away.
Move forward. Right.
So it was that call, you see, and you're like, okay, somebody has this figured out. And then when we started working together, what. Once you actually started understanding it, what was the immediate difference that you started noticing on your actual sales calls?
I think the biggest thing is like, I just understood like what I was doing in the process. So, like, it wasn't just like, ask this question, ask this question, ask this question. And you hypnotize them into buying. It was like, no, if they ask. If I ask this question, I know what outcome I need to get from the Question to continue on. And if I don't get the outcome, sit in the actual pocket, make it uncomfortable, and then keep looping until you get it. Like, it's like, don't give up on the actual answer and that question that you need, right? Yeah, it's like, just stay uncomfortable with them, because that's like being comfortable sometimes.
What you need for them. Yeah. Because the biggest thing when it comes to the questions, like, questions are just tools. They're a tool to get an outcome. So if you don't get the outcome, what the fuck is the point of the question? Right. And ask. It's something I will say that I've noticed with people who get, like, better results than others or quicker results than others that you really shown is when you didn't understand something you would constantly ask. I remember especially when you, like, bro, like, for the first. Like, for the first while, I at least had one to two questions a day that you're like, hey, bro, what about this? What about this? And it's like, what about this scenario? What about this scenario? Can you explain this? And it was just, like, constant. And I really enjoy it because it's like, you could tell, like, you were paying attention, right? And it's. It was just like you trying to understand it, like, frontwards to backwards. Right? Because. And then once you did that, once you actually understood it, like, frontwards backwards, how do you. Like, what were the. How do the outcomes actually start to be different?
Like, on the calls I had, this was. Especially when I was still selling. It wasn't for my own offer, but I got another offer where I was selling Realtors sales training and marketing as well as, like, two different offers in one. But on those calls, you just had so much more authority as well, right? Yeah. Like, especially in the beginning of the conversation with Realtors, that's something I struggled with a lot. Like, getting a problem or, like, an actual outcome that's tangible. And then as soon as I started understanding what I needed at the beginning of the conversation, because I remember, like, walking around in high school, like, messaging you on, like, Facebook and stuff.
Change it, dude. You sh. The coaching calls. You sh. The coaching calls in class.
Yeah. Yeah. Lots of fun. Yeah. Doing call reviews in class.
Yeah.
Yeah. But, like, once I actually understood that, like, I just had. They respected me. I could tell at the beginning of the conversation, like, they actually knew that wasn't like any other sales rep, and they couldn't just bullshit me the entire call. That was a big difference right there.
Yeah, you gotta. Especially with high ego prospects, which a lot of real estate agents are, you gotta suddenly let them know, like, bro, you like this with everyone else, but not with me. Right. The only way you're going to know that is if you know where the you're going. And so that happened relatively early. Right. You started having better, better outcomes from your calls. But then like the next. I would say the next big hurdle that we ran into was offer. What do you say?
Yeah. Yeah.
Right. So kind of walk me through because it's a bit of a journey. We won't talk about too much of the offer you're on right now because, like, you know, we'll just keep it just vague. We don't want any. Yeah, we'll just keep it ambiguous. Right? We'll just say it's a biz op offer, make money offer. Right. That's as much detail we'll go into it. Right, but what like you're. You're on the real estate offer. What we noticed immediately because skill set, yes, it's probably the most important, but offers a close number two, right? It's not like, oh, offer doesn't matter. I hate when people say offer doesn't matter because it fucking does matter. And you're on this real estate offer and you're doing really well. You're doing better than anyone else who had been on that offer. But they didn't even have a clear thing of what they're selling. And they're switching back and forth from marketing to sales training. It was kind of a shit show. And, you know, you being young, not knowing any difference, I'm like, okay, we need to do something different. Right? So it's like walk me through, like, what was the journey like from, like just some of the different offers and what you had to do differently.
Yeah, it's really interesting because you mentioning that the biggest thing that helped me, you really did help me get on a lot of solid offers. I wouldn't have landed half the offers or probably all of them if you didn't put me in contact with them. That helped a lot with getting my foot in the door. But even when it comes to transitioning out of that offer and getting on a bunch of different offers after that point, a bit of offer hopping as well. Like, the biggest thing is like, before that, like, I was struggling to get offers. But then after that, like, once I was able to show them my skillset, especially just understand the process, right? Not being like every other sales rep, like, dude, like, I even. I think I told you about it as well, like, I got offers, like, people trying to raise their commission to get me on, right? Like, people, they were reaching out to me, trying to get me on their offer, Right?
Yeah.
So that's the biggest shift right there.
That was the biggest shift. And I remember, like, I had a conversation with you. I'm like, hey, bro, I'm gonna get you in contact with a couple offers. But, like, I also, like, I show you step by step how to even get more offers, how to reach out to companies the right way. And you did it for, what, one day? And you already had, like, five offers lined up, and then it was just choosing which one. I will say, just a caveat for anyone listening, one of the biggest setbacks was the fact that you were still in school, right? Because, like, you couldn't work the hours that some of the higher, like, more like established, you know, established offers would want you to work. You just couldn't work those hours. I know one, for example, right? Like, for one example was like a biz op offer. They're doing a million plus per month. They have like a month trial period. And you're like the top during the trial period, but because you couldn't take 10 calls per day, like, they couldn't take you on the team, it was. Yeah, yeah. So kind of heartbreak and.
Bro.
Heartbreaking. I know. And it's like. And even with that, like, the trial period of what you made like, 8, 8, 9K, like, just in a trial period, too.
Yeah, the first month I did, like 80k cash, and then I was on two calls a day or three calls a day.
Yeah, two call, three calls. So it's like you had the skill set, but then it was about dialing an offer. And then now that you've been out of school. Right. Because you've been out of school for just a little bit here, I will say the biggest lesson to learn from all of this is I'm always right when it comes to what offer to choose. Because what we. What. What if. If we're gonna, like, paint a picture.
History is lots of fun. Yeah.
If we're gonna paint a picture, what happened? So as soon as you got done with school, you basically had a choice of three different offers, right?
Yeah.
So there was one biz op offer that I would say is, like, more generic. There is a health offer, and then there was a more specific biz op offer that you're currently on. And what happened is you did the two other offers first, right. Made some money, but you realize, like, hey, this isn't exactly What I wanted when I told you to do the very specific biz op offer, the make money offer right off the bat. And your. This is your first full month. There's. Right. Your first full month, you hit 20k per month and became the number one person on the team, right?
Yeah.
Right. And hopefully you get a bonus for that.
This guy knows something. Yeah.
So what do you feel like really helped you separate and just even though you're newer to this offer and there have been people selling this for like months that you're able to come in and just become the like, number one on the team your first full month.
I think even you can attest to this is that like, I got this skill set, like fairly early on, but it was just the fact, like, even what I was sharing with you, it's just energy, right? Like, the biggest caveat for me personally is like, what I did to learn the skill set is like very, very quickly was I went back and I watched all the past call, like coaching call recordings or like literally all them. Like, if you played them, I could probably like recite them. But that's just what I did like 247 is I just watch all the past coaching call recordings. Even like before I was in the Mastermind, but even when it comes to like just the biggest shift recently has just been diet, bro. Like the more not even the skill set side, but all everything else in the Mastermind that goes over. Like how to optimize sleep, how to optimize everything outside of sales. How. How to optimize everything outside of sales. That whole section in the Mastermind, that's been the biggest shift, right? Because like on the other biz op was doing like a million a month. Like I was working like seven days a week, right? Like doing the three calls a day. But those three calls would run over and I wasn't taking much time to myself. But like on like recently where I've been taking more time to myself working like just seven hours a day, right? I post like 11 hours a day. Like, I've made more money working less hours, right? Because I'm just optimizing my life outside of sales, which is crazy to me.
And what'd you tell me about that? You're like, I'm making more, working less.
Yeah, Yeah. I thought that was crazy.
Like, I feel guilty.
Like, should this shit not be harder is what I thought.
Like, like, no, dude, like, once you have this skill set and then once you start to optimize your life, like, it's. It gets relatively easy and Then it's like, now it's only going to increase. Like now, the second month on the offer, you should blow 20k out of the. Out of the water. And then like, once you're in the third, the fourth, with, like, referrals and, you know, more dialing in the entire process, it's only going to continue to increase and increase. So. And I told you this is the only offer that I saw that 40 to 50k per month is achievable. I didn't see it. And there was other offers. And your first full month, you did there. You did 20. Right. So without even having all the processes dialed in so vindicated, all of our.
Ended I told you so.
Yeah.
Conversations end I told you so.
Well, I feel like if I just let you know that I was right enough, you can listen to me the next time. Yeah, but the big, big caveat, now that you hit 20k per month, I made you a promise. If you hit 20k per month, I'll do something for you. So what is that going to be.
Waiting for you to fly me out, bro.
I'm g. Fly you out to Vietnam. We're going to, like, have a good time. It's going to need to be like, probably in April. I'll fly you out to Vietnam. We'll. We'll see if. If Satya hit 17. Let's see if he hits 20. I'm like, I'm not flying you out unless you hit 20.
Oh, he's gonna hit 20. Okay.
Yeah, you gotta hit 20, bro. It's like, I ain't flying people out for hitting 17k in a month. What you. Oh, boy. Numbers.
The.
Yeah, other Nathan hit 12. I'm just like, bro, gotta raise those numbers and rookie numbers. But those are the only three people I talked to. There's a couple other people that have, like, hit like 40 plus. But I didn't make the promise to him, so we don't talk to him. But fly you out probably Ho Chi, main city. Enjoy. Enjoy Vietnam for at least. At least a few days. I don't know, maybe you find yourself a nice Vietnamese girl. She doesn't have to speak much English. They're very nice, very traditional. She'll cook, she'll clean. It would be really, really sweet.
Time buyer visa to fucking. But fuck Canada.
No, no, no. First of all, Canada is not a real place. Second of all, even if it was a real place, you don't take the good, nice, traditional woman out of the good, nice, traditional environment and implant them into the socialist waste. Is Canada like, no, you don't do that. That kind of defeats the purpose. I say, as I met my wife in the U.S. cool.
Go to Alberta.
Fine. Yeah, go to Alberta. You guys are going to separate. I can't believe I knew about that. You didn't know about that. But I guess we can wrap up. Yeah, Canada, whatever it is. But I guess we can wrap up here. In terms of anyone who is in, like, who's, like, younger, maybe they're just getting into sales or maybe they've been in sales for a while. Like, what would you give, like, in terms of advice if they really want to master this and get to the point where, honestly, it does feel pretty easy. You're making more money than you ever made before, and you're continuing to grow. Like, what do you feel like would help somebody, like, speedrun the track that you got to.
Especially for younger guys? Because, like, I think I definitely met Christian and I joined his mastermind when I was 16. Like, still walking around, like, grade 11 or like, grade. I think it was grade 11. That's when I met Christian. And what. I would get a lot in my calls as well. And the biggest caveat, as well, for, like, younger guys, and you look young. Like, you can pull up a column that, like, I look very, very young. Back in the day.
You did.
And I sounded young as well, right?
Yeah.
But, like, the biggest thing is that, like, that's what it would cut to my authority on calls.
Right.
Like, the caveat of just being young is, like, that cuts the authority, especially with realtors. Like, they'll poke at it all day long, and they won't really take you seriously. But the biggest thing that helped me shift that was just understand the process of not taking bullshit answers. Like, if you. If you have the right process and you understand what you're doing, it undercuts that entire thing. Like, your age doesn't matter.
Right?
That's the biggest shift right there.
Because you convey the authority. I think the, like, actually speaking from your diaphragm more now and growing a little bit of facial hair might help a little bit. Right. But it's definitely not necessary. You're making sales before you grew the facial hair out, but again, just things that help you hold authority.
Right? So, yeah, I wasn't.
I wasn't able really to grow anything until I was, like, 23.
Dude.
And I'm still. I'm still pretty baby face. I'm not gonna lie, dude.
It's okay. Me and a dad helps out.
Yeah, yeah, it's fine. It's fine. Yeah, just straight unk status over here. Just old as bro. All right, well, I guess we can end interview there. Hopefully it's been informative. Okay, cool.
