"Can you make it cheaper?" vs. $8M Closer

Two salespeople negotiate an $8,000 content program. Speaker B reframes the cost as investment, argues mindset matters more than price, and pitches toward $50K monthly revenue. Speaker A hesitates but agrees to move forward.

It's, it's a little bit more than I was willing to spend. Maybe give me a little bit of a deal while you take some of the content out or anything like that.
Typically that's a little bit more than what we can do, man. But help me understand, when you say it's a bit like, much like, what do you mean by that?
I don't really want to spend 8k on like just some videos and stuff. So it's like, can you just kind of segment it to what I need and kind of like just lower the price a little bit?
Generally speaking, man, is something that's, you know, more general or more custom, which one is going to be like more costly? Just generally speaking, when it's more one to one. Yeah, exactly. Right, so. And like when we're talking about costly, there's a difference between expensive and costly. Expensive means you don't get anything back. Costly is a high investment, but we're also looking for a high return. Like, is that right?
That's a good way to put it.
So it's like I can appreciate like right now it might look a little bit more than what you expected, but we're also looking to reach a different level than what we've reached before. So wanting to be reasonable, if we're looking to do something we've never done before, we have to invest in ourself like we never have before. Would you agree with that?
Yeah.
So for you, would you be willing to look at what you can get out of it? Like the actual money you could be making, the skills you can learn rather than just the money you put down. Because like, otherwise, like, dude, I'm not even sure how much we can help over here.
Yeah, I'd be willing to look at it like that.
Why would you though?
Well, kind of the way you broke it down, I mean, if it's, if we're focusing more on ROI mindset, the ROI is higher than investment.
So if we're talking about like roi, man, do you want something that's just like cheap or do you want something that's actually going to get you to where you want to be? Because like, dude, choice is yours.
I mean, obviously I want to going to give results here.
It's not so obvious, man. Or we want to have to be having this conversation, but why would you choose the one that's like actually going to get you to the results?
We're startup, so what's my money too? So I can actually acquire the skills to just get to that 50k a month?
So it's like right now we're not even talking about like the program, whether to do it, whether or not to do it. Like we both know the program works. We both agree that it's like doing more hands on help is what's going to get you there. All we're really deciding on right now is like really the type of person who we're going to step into and the person we're going to be moving forward. Because we really have two options. Like number one, we can be that person who's always looking for something cheaper, not go in all the way, like doesn't really give it at all. Or we can be the second type of person that 20k, 30k, 50k version of ourselves makes it work regardless of the investment. Which person would you rather be?
The one that makes work, regardless why. I'm sick of where I'm at income wise. I want to get to that 50k a month.
But what if you hold on to this old mindset of just wanting? That's cheap, bro. And you never actually get there.
You get cheap results.
Do you want to be that guy?
No.
So what do we need to do? So we don't choose that because it is a choice.
Let's do it him.
