"Drop it by $1k and i'll do it." vs. $8m Closer

Christian Polk refuses to drop his $8,000 program fee to $7,000, arguing that discounting undermines results. He pushes back on the prospect's limiting mindset and gets them to commit to paying full price by asking what happens if they keep seeking shortcuts.

Yeah. So the investment to go ahead and get started, it's going to be $8,000. Make it $7,000 and I will say yes right now. Dude, why would I do that?
Can we negotiate the structure? I can just lower it a little bit because I can't do it.
Now help me understand, man. If I have all these other clients who got the results that you're looking to get, they all paid the full price. Why would I go ahead and discount it?
Well, that's what I'm saying. Let's work something out. Let's make it fair for the both of us.
You know, like, dude, if we were being fair, I could raise the price. Don't do that. No. So let's be fair. Why would you think I would go ahead and like lower the price? I told you my situation. I understand you're struggling. Like, that's why we're here. But ultimately, if I give you special treatment and I don't hold you to the same standards of everyone else that got the results that you want, like, what type of results are you going to get if I allow the standards to be lowered? Do you want me to lower the standards and you get lesser results? The money you pay, that doesn't really dictate anything. It's how you actually come into the program, because we can come into the program like looking like, okay, how do I take the shortcuts? How do I get discounts? And most people do that their entire life on everything they do. And the results in their life shows it. On the other end, we can say like, hey, this is what's required and I'm going to make sure that I'm going to do everything to make this investment pay off. So who are we wanting to be right now? I want to be the guy that makes it work. Why though?
Well, for my family, man. I gotta pull something together. I'm the provider.
We got to take a look back and we have to look in the mirror right now. If that's the person who we want to step into, us hopping in, giving these like, hey, just give me a discount, like how we've been showing up so far. How are we showing up compared to the person who we want to be?
Of course.
I have to ask you, like, what if that mentality and us not coming close to who we need to be, like, what if this continues for another, like, month, another 2 months, 6 months down the line? So what do we need to do to make sure we actually do breakthrough?
I got to do something.
Yeah, well, it's like we got to do something. But again, we got to focus on like, how do we actually do it? Are we going to do it looking for shortcuts or are we going to do it all the way?
It's all the way.
So we're going to do it all the way, man. Let's do it all the way. Let's go all in. I'm going to be in your corner, but I need you to pull your weight. Can you do that?
I'll pull my weight. I'll do that.
Let's go ahead and get started. I'll just need a little bit of info from you and like, let's get you onboarded. Okay. It's work.
