Exposed: Eight-Figure Closer Breaks Down 3+ Hours of High-Ticket Sales Calls (Live)

Christian Polk breaks down two real sales calls to show how to diagnose prospects, uncover root problems, and close higher-ticket deals. Call 1 reveals a missed discovery step and a money objection, with a tactic to sell a single session first. Call 2 exposes procrastination patterns and identity issues, with Polk flagging language problems and prescribing specific micro-scripts to tighten the close.
Questions this video answers
$5,000 for the year.
About 7 months ("the soonest that you can become certified is about 7 months").
Sessions are one hour; three sessions cost $500 (three sessions = $500).
About $10,000 per year (Social Security/limited driving income).
I break down two different live sales calls and go over the exact things that you should be listening for on your sales calls. How to dig deeper, create more urgency so you can close more deals and ultimately make more money. As someone who's taken over 7,000 sales calls myself, also close millions of dollars in deals. Call reviews and call breakdowns are the best way to get better at sales. Why? Because you're dealing with real live sales situations. You're not just dealing with theory. So make sure you pay attention and take notes. Just a little bit of context. Of the two calls that we are going over, both of them are business opportunities, which means they help people start their own business. The first one helps people start their own business in the inner healing space. The second one helps start their business in the Airbnb space. So let me know that your biggest takeaway in the comments and let's dive in. I know you're just working with like you can't get this lady to turn.
Her camera on point.
We'll go and just close off my screen. But we can definitely just kind of have the conversation from here. Darlene and I appreciate your patience, by the way. Was having a really awesome conversation before this, but decided to just make some time for you.
So I'm going to have an awesome conversation, but I could have gone somewhere. I mean, someone called me and their child was sick and I said, well, I have a meeting. I can't, I can't leave right now. And yeah, yeah, I miss that, but go ahead.
Well, yeah, I'll go ahead.
You see, just right there from the very get go. And it, especially at the very beginning of the conversation, we have to be very, very aware of our authority and status of how we're showing up. Like, oh, I'm super excited for this conversation. Are just little things that can lower our status. Okay. And if you notice what she did is she's like, oh, I could have been somewhere else. Go ahead. So she's basically, and it's very, it's very subtle, but she's lowering your status just from the very get go. So it's something that can creep out through the entire call. So if it's not addressed then it can hurt us. So something to be careful of, of just lowering our status at the beginning of the call and then she responds with the, you know, yeah, you go ahead like, you know, give me your spiel type of thing. So just something to be careful of.
I just hang my head all day, darling. So again, I'm sorry about that and appreciate your Time. And I love to ask, like, what. What is it that just initially, you know, made you say no to your friend and then. And hang in with me? What was it that attracted you to Phhal?
I guess, because I've been waiting for this meeting for a few days.
What made you want to go and booking in the first place?
Like, I guess, what was it that attracted you to prophetic heart healing? Same thing.
I told the other person I spoke with that the Lord has done a lot for me during my life, and.
He'S okay, so if she. If you're in a conversation and they have talked to a setter before, this is something that we just at least need to address so we don't run into. Well, like, I told the other person something very simple at the very beginning of the conversation. It's like, okay, so it looks like you booked in about possibly getting help with xyz. Is that right? And I know you had a conversation with, you know, John a couple days ago. He left a little bit of notes, but I always tell him to keep it fairly high level because you know how things get lost in translation. You know what I mean? So just so we're on the same page, and then you go about the conversation, because if you can, we just. At the very beginning of the conversation, it's. It's super, super important. We're not breaking rapport and we're not starting off on a negative foot. So we can just get her to be as open as possible.
Giving me joy and peace in my heart, and I'd like to share that with people.
Okay, cool. And. And just so I know, like, do you know what kind of help you would be looking for specifically to continually help other people connect with the Lord?
Maybe a road map of how you guys have done it.
Okay. And done, like, we have different things that we do. Like, what we do is pretty custom. So when you say it, like, I guess, like, what. What all are you referring to?
How you found people to help? I guess. I mean, I talk to people every day and I testify to them, but I'd like to do what you guys are doing.
Oh, so what would cause you to, I guess, like, start your own business to really help, you know, share the word of the Lord or whatever she said. Right. Like, what would cause you to be looking to actually start your own business to do that? So it's like, we need to get to the point where it's like, oh, like, I want to help people. Okay, cool. There's tons of ways to help people. Why Would you want to start a business to help people? You get what I mean? So you can start to get into. Because you help them start their business. Like, yes, it's a fulfilling business, but it is also a business.
Got it. And. And just so I know it's like, we. We help people to start an inner healing business. Is that right?
Yes.
Okay. And. And just so I know, like, what's. What's coming up for you now that's making you feel like starting a business is kind of like what you're looking help for? What are you looking for?
Out for good?
Oh, my gosh. A way to get clients and to make more money.
Yeah. Well, that's awesome. So clients make more money, right? Well, cool. And I should probably. And I think you. You broke. You hit on this with Kayla. But what is it that you do for a living? What is it that you do for work?
I was a nurse, but now I volunteer and I drive. I drive people in my community when they need to go to appointments.
Okay, That's. That's like an occupational. You get paid for that.
It's a hobby, actually.
Okay, so you're doing.
I do get a little bit of compensation, but not much.
Got it. Okay. And that's kind of like the main driver, income wise, for you.
Sort of.
You don't sound too sure.
And I, like, I can definitely, like, you know, respect where you're coming from, and it's a total safe place. Darlene, I think what would just need to kind of understand your situation is like. Like, how is it that you're, you know, maybe currently, like, funding, like, your world right now?
So I think some of the reason that we are running into this issue a little bit, because she's like, oh, well, I want more clients want to make more money. I want to get. Clients want to make more money. Just ask, like, oh, you know, most people are totally fine with just how they're making money now. What are you seeing so far that would have you looking to be making more money so that way you can get a problem. You want to. You need to get her to admit that she has a problem first and foremost. Like, you can understand just from the way that this person is speaking, they're very defensive. So what you need to do, and you're doing a good job, you're being very light, but you just need to ask questions and just be as curiously as curious as humanly possible to get her to admit that she has a problem. Because without that, she's. She's not being very open So I think we just missed a step of. Oh, what would even have you looking to be making more money in the first place? You know, most people are fine just with the money they're making. Oh, well, this or that or that. Okay, well, what are you currently doing now to. To make money? Right. So lends yourself, like, then, like, once they're being more open to tell you these things now. Again, this lady is just fairly closed off, I think, again, in the first five minutes, there's a couple things that we can talk about that could have just put her on the back foot, but it also could be, again, she feels a little bit your. Your. Again, I'm trying to put myself in her mind a little bit. She feels a little bit irritated. She feels like she's told this stuff to somebody else before, and we didn't really address that. And also, it sounds like there's something in her personal life that she's having this conversation, too, which is just outside of your control. But she lowered your status at the very beginning, and we did so ourselves, too. That could just, you know, cause a little bit of a disconnect now and.
Like, maybe have, like, a couple other projects that you're doing that's helping you, like, pay things. Is that right, or.
Yes, I do. I have an income.
Okay. What do you do?
A little bit I get from driving people.
Got it.
It's Social Security is what it is.
Yeah, that. Hey, definitely not uncommon, Darlene, for what it's worth. And we have a lot of students that we help out that they're receiving Social Security on disability and things like that. So super helpful. And also, I should know this from Kaylin, but are you taking care of anyone in particular? Family or anything?
So it. And I don't like the phrasing of that question. Oh, I should know this from the setter. But I'm going to ask you anyways. So again, if we just address that at the beginning of, you know, how things get lost in translation, something like that. Or. Or, you know, just so I can just hear it from you because you know how things get lost in translation. You know what I mean by that? Oh, yeah, of course. So you get that buy in that you're going to ask some of this. Send me the basic questions that maybe she had already answered before rather than. Again, you're kind of demeaning yourself. Okay, I should know this, but I don't, so why don't you tell me?
Is it like that?
No.
Okay.
No, it's just me.
Got it. Okay. Well, Helpful to know. And so darling, when it comes to even just your occupation, right. You know, driving, Social Security. I mean, and I can definitely understand that you're wanting to be able to get a inner healing business. But, like, what do you feel is just kind of missing? Or like, what do you feel like just isn't enough? Like, in your world? Like, hey, we. The world needs people to drive them. Right. So how can I best.
Okay, so if we can just be a little bit more concise with that first question now, because we did miss the problem at the very beginning. You're. It seems like you're searching a bit. The problem with that is the question is going to lose its power, like, as you drag it out and you asked a few questions in one. So you're rather, you're really just allowing her to be like, let me pick the question I'm going to answer. And, and the reliability that you're going to be able to go through the process, if we're just, we're asking so many questions and we dilute it is just going to be lower. Okay. So I would just either stick with, oh, what do you feel like is missing? Just what you're currently doing that doesn't allow you to really affect the amount of lives you're looking to affect? Right. Something like that, like, these are already things that she told you. Or it's like, well, what makes you feel like it's just not quite enough that you would be looking for ways to make more money? Right. Because she already told you she wanted to make more money. Just pick one of those rather than like kind of getting them into two. And then you also, on the back of it, then justified the question. So if you could just make it a little bit more concise, help.
Well, I like to help people and I like to testify.
And yeah.
And I think that that's what they need is more of the Lord.
Yeah, yeah, definitely. Absolutely. And that's why we exist as well. And.
But why would you want to really affect people's lives, like, through an actual, like, business, though you can bring it back to the business.
Just so I know, like, what do you feel might be preventing you from. From just already doing that? Like, I know Uber drivers that every single driver that comes in or driver, every client that comes in, they're speaking about Jesus. So, like, why start a business? Okay.
To improve my income.
Okay, okay, got it.
Because I'm already doing it for free. Yeah, a lot of. A lot of it.
Okay.
Okay. And I know she wants to make.
More money so we got to dive into the money now. We could have dived into it earlier, but we're here now. That's all that matters. Let's dive into the money.
Know that there is kind of like a. Kind of like a misunderstanding when it comes to a lot of, like, faith based things. But what do you, like, what's shifted for you to where now you're open to possibly charging people for.
I had never heard of. I never heard of this type of thing before.
Okay.
Okay. So we need to understand. So she said she wants to make more money. We need to understand why does she want to make more money? We can't accept this as an obvious answer because to be frank, it's not. Most people do not start businesses. Okay, so why does she, like, why is she open to start a business? What has she seen so far, which is how she's currently living, that makes her open to be making more money? Or what makes her feel like just with the money she's making, it's just not quite enough? That's where we need to take this conversation. So it's just like, oh, well, I want to make more money. Okay, well, what are you seeing so far just with how you know you're making money or how you're living that would have you open to ways to be making more money? Oh, this, this, and this. Or what makes you feel like just with the money you're currently making, it's just not quite enough. Now, I would be hesitant of doing that second one because again, if you haven't gotten that problem yet, you'll run into, well, it's not that it's not quite enough, but, you know, but whatever, you'll still get there. But you have to kind of like go in a circle once or twice. Besides the point, we just got to ask, why are you open to be making more money? Because most people aren't. Most people, they don't have a business or not starting a business. Why are you open to be starting a business so you can make more money? Okay. Get her to admit she has a problem.
Advertising around Facebook kind of piqued my.
Interest because, you see, and again, it's, it's subtle, but she's like, you guys did something. So that's why I'm here. I'm here because of you guys. No, she's not. She's here because she doesn't have her needs met or she has a problem. There is a distinct difference. So if they're saying, well, oh, I saw you guys, okay, but what would Even have you open to talking to us, you know, just from seeing an ad. Because again, if you put yourself into the mind of a prospect, how many ads does this person see? Probably on a daily basis, like fucking hundreds. So you can't fall into the frame of, oh, you guys, you know, I've never heard of this before, so I just want to see what it's about. And that's along the lines of what we can be following into if we don't dive into. Why is she even open to starting her own business? Why is she even opened to make more money? Why doesn't she feel like it's not enough?
Yeah, got it. That's cool.
It's not. Got it.
And. And so, like, what. What the appeal is is like, hey, these guys are charging, like they have businesses, like, they're also ministering. Is that right?
Right. Yes. I.
We're searching instead of you. And you've done this a couple times. Be careful of the statements you make because you're putting something on somebody and then it's just very easy for them to say yes. So, like, let's not make statements and then basically ask a yes or no question. Just ask her, well, what. What really stuck out for you? Why would that be appealing to you? Why would you be open to that and get her to expand on why she'd be open to it in the first place? It's not a. Oh, like, so is this. Is that right? Yes or no? Because then it. You just make it more of a binary. And now you're putting your projection of what you think her motivations might be, rather than just ask the question and allow her to tell you her motivations. Because the thing is, if she's the one telling you her motivations, you can't be wrong. It's her motivations. And then we want to take her words, how she describes things, her adjectives, what she's looking for, her problems. And that's. We really mold those into the questions, and that's how we dig deeper. The problem, if we use our words, we try to label or do all these different things, is now we're putting things on people. So then when we try to go deeper, they can push back, because it's not their words, it's not their thoughts, it's yours. So just be careful with that.
I thought about going for a counselor for church, and I never did do it.
Yeah.
And I thought, well, this is interesting, too.
Yeah, got it. Well, that's awesome. Yeah, that's definitely, definitely what comes into to our World, right. Just to be able to really marry ministry and business. Really, really fun, darling. And well, cool and well, well again, Darlene, so, like, what's coming up for you now that it's like, man, it's time to now, like, charge? Like, is it just because of, like, maybe the circumstance that you're in? They're like, hey, I want to be.
Just ask a question. So if you ask the question and then they're like, oh, well, I don't know, then you can maybe start to give them a little bit of feelers. I would also say that this question is it can go wrong just because we really haven't gotten her to admit too much that she does have a problem of, like, oh, you can go like, oh, why look into this now? Rather than like, why? Why go ahead and charge now? Subtle difference in language, but one's a lot harder to disagree with than the other one. But just something to be aware of. But I would say just ask a question. Oh, well, what has you looking into actually starting your business now? Like, what shifted for you? You know, take away her excuse. Right. Because let's see into the future a little bit besides, you know, you just seen an ad. What has you looking to actually, I guess, like, start your own business now? Like, what shifted? So then again, you can get like, what her motivations are outside of. Oh, well, I just found you guys.
Be able to add my. Add some more income coming in. But tell me about.
It's both. It's the advertisement piqued my interest.
Okay.
I had never thought of doing anything like this. Yeah, also to improve my income. Yes.
Okay, cool.
Why does she want to.
How long have you been trying to, like, just increase your income?
For many years I've been doing different things. You know, I was like I said I was a nurse before and I became disabled and I done.
We still got to get to the root of why does she want to increase her income and how long. It's how long has she had this problem for as far as the income? And what is this problem leading to? What is it causing? What impact is this having on her? And how does she feel about this impact that it's having on her? That's how we get deeper. So it's not, well, how long have you been looking to be making more money? It's why are you even looking to make more money? And how long have you had that problem for? What is that problem causing? What is it leading to? What impact does this have on you and how does that make you feel? Having these impacts. So that way you're just able to go quite a bit deeper.
Several things to help me get along through the years. And I'm getting older, 70 this summer.
Got it.
And I know how much longer I can sit all day. Driving.
Yeah. Yeah.
I have something that's a little more active. I can't get up when I need to, you know, when I'm driving.
Yeah, that makes sense.
And I can see how I may be able to. Oh, I guess counseling. Is that what you would call it?
Yeah, absolutely. It's definitely synonymous. And. And even driving a like, I think the way I thought, like, is maybe convenient, but you feel like it's. It's kind of wearing on you or.
Yeah, it's like, I just don't want to be sitting all day.
Oh, why is that? Gotcha. Oh, why is that? Oh, tell me more. And she said, I don't know how much longer I can do this. She just said, I don't know how much longer I can do this in my, like, do my job. Boom. This is like, big, big pain point because this is like, very much future pain that we can uncover. What do you mean you don't know how much longer you can do it? Well, why is that? Like, what is it causing right now? And how much longer do you feel like you can keep it up? Do you have a game plan after? You know, you're not able to do that any longer? Like, what would happen afterwards? And I mean, if you didn't have this extra income coming in, what impact would that have? You could really start to pull out these problems.
Gotcha. And, like, and you, I guess. Oh, sorry, darling. Go for it.
I just started to say, so I need to improve my income so that I'm just not dependent on just driving.
Yeah, okay, that makes sense. And. And just so I know too, Darlene.
Like, you just because she's putting urgency in a time frame on it, but we didn't explore it, like, how much longer does she feel like she could actually drive? That's something we need to know. And if she can't drive any longer, what's in. What's the backup plan? What can she do? What will she be doing? What position would she be in if she didn't have more income coming in? Why is that a bad thing? What impact would this have? And we can really start to drill down deep into that.
I guess driving and, like, it wearing on you, like, has that had just, like, an effect on you, on your health or.
I think physically it is affecting me My back.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, expand. Gotcha.
Gotcha.
How? Yeah, well that makes sense. And how. And darling, it, you know, just hearing your voice, you sound like a lovely woman who loves the Lord and helps people. And I guess you not being able to even charge right, and like you've just done it for free. You're looking for different venues. Like what? I guess, what has that done to you personally?
Okay, so again, like, we're following the pro. Like we're going through the process. Like, let's expand. We need more context of what's going on. We still really don't understand why she feels like she needs more money. This is something we just don't understand how this impacts her. If she wasn't driving and she didn't have the income, how would this impact her? How much longer does she feel like she can drive? And how is it actually impacting her health? She said, oh, it impacts my back. How does it impact your back? And does it just only impact it where you're driving or how, like how else is it showing up in your day to day? We can really start to tease these things out. So then you being in constant pain like that, but then also struggling with XYZ with the money coming in, I don't want to assume. But how does that feel? Oh, feels terrible. You see how that question just lands a lot harder than more of just a broad how does that feel question.
Like, what is. What's kind of been the outcome of like what, you know, what would have happened if I would have started to charge sooner? So what would happen if it's kind of been the outcome, like what, you've just done it for free.
Okay, so I'm taking it back a little bit. Was re. Listen to that question.
Able to even chart and it, you know, man. Well, that makes sense. And. And darling, it, you know, just hearing your voice, you sound like a lovely woman who loves the Lord and helps people. And I guess you not being able to even charge right, and like you've just done it for free. You're looking for different venues. Like what? I guess, what has that done to you personally? Like what is. What's kind of been the outcome of like what, you know, what would have happened if I would have started to charge sooner?
Just careful of asking two questions back to back.
I don't know. I'm not sure because I own my home. Probably a tr.
See, she now she's answering the question of not the pain that she's currently in, but. But what would happen if she had Done it sooner. Which, again, we're still digging, but one is a lot more impactful than the other. And she just answered. The easier one to answer is like, well, what if you had more money? Probably travel dope. Okay. But we're not digging into her current pain of her. Like, why does she want more money? What are these things actually doing to her? Or what impact is actually having her personally not being able to charge for this. Like, if just that question, probably fine, but we just have to ask that question alone.
Travel more. That'd be something. I do. The thing you're looking for.
Yeah, like, go for it.
Yeah, I think travel more. Maybe. I don't know. I'm not sure. I do travel a little bit now.
And you have to be careful and. And not let things slip by. Is that what you're looking for? If I ever hear that, like, number one, I gotta understand that this person feels like they're in a sales process, right? Is that what you're looking for? Like, they. They feel like you're looking for something. You're doing something to them. So if you do come up to that, just understand that their defenses are up. Okay. And we have to do things to help lower that. So it's like, oh, is that what you're looking for? Like, Darlene, Like, I'm not looking for anything. I'm truly just trying to understand where you're at to see if I can even help. So help me understand. And you go back and you re. Ask the question. So you want to change the perception of how she views you, because right now, just. Just from some of her language, she views you as somebody who has taken her through a process. Like, is that what you're looking for? So. Something you have to be careful of.
Oh, but it'd be nice to be able to travel more.
Yeah. Okay.
Sounds like something I can do no matter where I'm at.
Yeah, it. Yeah. Absolutely. No equipment. I mean, really, if you. I mean, just like, you and I are talking now, it's like, if you have this technology, it's like, can have a session. So we got it. And I'm curious, too. Like, just you not being able to travel and really, I guess you could say, like, kind of marry ministry with business. Like, I mean, how. I'm just kind of curious on how that's, like. Just affected your world, Darlene. Like, what's that? Maybe what's that done? See how we can.
I think it sounds like.
I think it sounds like. Be a wonderful opportunity for me to testify, because I haven't had a life. My mom died when I was sick.
Yeah.
So that's been rough. And then I had a son that passed away. But the Lord still let me have the peace and joy in my heart in spite of what's all going on in the world at this time.
Yeah.
And I like to be able to share that with other people and know how to share it to where I can help them.
And my condolences on that too, by the way, Darlene and I appreciate your transparency.
Okay, so. And we're having a hard time getting her to actually focus on her current situation. And she keeps on talking about the future. Something to be aware of. You have to understand and listen for wishful language, wishful thinking. Oh, I would like to do these things. It would be nice to do these things. Understand if she is talking like that, it's not real. It's more of a dream. And you don't help people get to their dreams. You help them get to their goals. So you just have to redirect their thinking to. Instead of. It would be nice to. This is something I need to do. And that's. And if we're able to do that and. And we correct the way that they speak, we correct the way that they think. So you're not going to deal with objections at the end. So just be hyper aware of the language that they're using, especially if they're using wishful language. Oh, I'd like to do this. Oh, it would be nice. Right? And something you can do now again, you're not on camera, so it'll probably be a little harder to do. And we're a little bit out of rapport. But oftentimes I'll be go, yeah, and it'll be nice to be at the beach right now. But what do you need to do something like a little shift like that. Or you can go, well, can I. Can I make a suggestion? Do you know the difference between, like, you know, it would be nice to have and you need to have. And then you can explain it to them that way. But we need to start to shift the wishful language from. It would be nice to have to. I need to have. Or I'm going to change rather than oh, I would like to.
There's just too totally different, see, in that. And when it comes to how you currently help people, even just connect with the Lord, I guess what are you currently doing to help them to encounter him?
Well, I think I just. Different things I know from the Bible, I tell them, yeah, like if I Meet somebody named Emmanuel. I'll tell them what his name means.
Yeah, yeah.
Things I learned from the Bible, you know, I try to let them know and.
Yeah, definitely. Well, that's awesome. And I mean, do you like how you're helping people?
I do. I do like it.
Yeah.
Okay.
We're not getting to the. To the root of the problem. It seems like we're still searching here.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, that I think, Lord.
And yeah.
For me.
Okay. And. And if you can, because it sounds like, I mean, that's effective, right? Like, I mean, hey, to know the Lord, please. Well, that's awesome. And I mean, do you. Do you like how you're helping people?
Like, I mean, hey, to know the Lord, invite people to church and things like that. I guess if you can change anything.
So we're taking a step back in this conversation. She's already told you that she need. She wants to make more or she'd like to. It'd be nice to make more money. Like, this is what she's saying. Okay. To make more money while she's doing it instead of, like, doing something else that is hard on her body. So we just. We need to dig into that rather than, well, do you like what you're doing now? Is there anything you would change? Like, we're. We're about 14 minutes into this conversation that would be taking a step back. Back. Really, the only answer that she can give you is like, oh, well, I want to make more money while I'll do it. And this is something. This is the information we've already gotten. So it just comes down to, well, what would even, like, if you take a look back with what you're currently doing, what has you looking to be making more money? Like, why do you want to be making more money? What makes you feel like it's just not quite enough with the money that you are making? That's the problem right now. It's. She wants to be fulfilled, but she also wants to make money while she's doing so. And this is information we already have.
About how you're helping people encounter the Lord. Would you change anything about that?
Or.
Again, I'd like to do it in a more professional way. I.
Okay, again, so anytime that you hear this, just Understand if they say, like I said, or again, the. They're telling you that they don't feel like you're actually listening to them and they're having to repeat themselves. So just use that as a barometer. If you're hearing these things, you're not as into the conversation as you need to be. So just make sure you don't backtrack. When you do get a problem, dig into that problem. She already told you that the money was the issue. So you just keep digging and just understand the context around why is the money the issue, rather than staying a little bit surface level. And then we're going back to. What would you change? Well, like I said, be more professional, make money doing. So it just. We just went in a circle, and.
I'm thinking that's what I would get from taking the course.
Totally. Absolutely.
Cool.
Well, that's helpful. And so, Darlene, if I'm tracking with you, like, you're very interested in getting the training and you're interested in being able to add an income to your. Like, to your world. Right. To your circumstance. And. And just to make sure that, you know what we do can help. And I think you broke this down a little earlier, but, like, what all have you done to be able to actually, like, create just a more predictable income? I know you said you've looked at other things. Okay, but what.
Good. Now we're on the actual issue.
I've done a lot of sales. I had an antique shop.
Okay.
Had that for several years.
You ran that.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay. And then sales. Like, was that. What industry were you doing? Sales.
The antiques.
Okay. So again, we. Especially if we want to cut down call time, we.
An antique shop.
Okay.
Had that for several years.
You ran that.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay. And then sales. Like, was that. What industry were you doing? Sales.
The antiques.
Okay. So again, we. Especially if we want to cut down call time, we need to be able to make the distinction between interesting information and important information. Interesting information. What was she doing 20 years ago? That's interesting. But does it have any relevance to what she's doing right now and what she wants to do in the future? No. So this is. Need to be able to make the distinction between interesting information and important information. Interesting. Important information is what. Why does she feel like she needs to make more money now? Like, what is she currently doing now? Interesting information. What was she doing 20 years ago? That's interesting. But does it have any relevance to what she's doing right now and what she wants to do? In the future? No. So this is interesting. Important information is why does she feel like she needs to make more money now? Like, what is she currently doing now? Why does she feel like it's not enough? And the thing is, we need to be able to divorce interesting information from important information and. And just talk about the important information. The interesting information is just going to. Why does she feel like it's not enough? And the thing is, we need to be able to divorce interesting information from important information and just talk about the important information. The interesting information is just going to dilute the conversation, make it to where she's not as focused on the real issues. It's going to make the calls go longer and it's just going to cut into just the effectiveness of your sales process. So just be careful of not diving too much into interesting information.
Oh, got it. Got it. Okay. And that wasn't your own business or was.
Was.
Okay, but why does it matter?
And I still continue it, but not on a full time basis.
Got it. Okay. And how long did you do that for?
Probably 10 years.
Yeah. I mean, that's a good Runway, Darlene. And if you don't mind me asking, like, what. What maybe have you pause and just maybe turn it into a little bit more of a side thing?
Because it's a lot of work.
Yeah.
Busy. A lot of work.
Ah, I see.
But it's like, how is this relevant to her getting out of her current position? You what I'm saying how it's, it's more interesting. Oh. Like you did this like however long ago and you stopped because it was a lot of work. Like she already stopped. That she doesn't have this problem anymore. You get what I'm saying?
Yeah. Because you have to go out and find the antiques and clean them up and ties and keep your shop open and.
Yeah.
Things are getting a little harder nowadays. Trusting people to come in.
Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. I. I've. I've never ran an antique store and I'm learning about it. I didn't know. Like that makes sense. You have to find the stuff and that could be trouble, but. Okay. Well, cool. And how long ago. I know you did it for 10 years, but how long ago did you have that business? I mean, I know you still have it part time, but.
Yes. Do you still have a part time. How long ago did I have that business?
Or I guess start it like you started at 10 years ago?
Yeah, about. Probably 10, 15 years ago. I don't know the exact time, but got it.
Okay. And then and then you still, like. Do you still steward it, so to say, like, there's like, you have an input into it. Like, you're still finding antiques, stuff like that, or.
No, no, I'm not really finding anymore. I've got so many collected that I'm still selling.
Ah, I see. Okay. Got it.
Okay, well, cool.
Well, that's helpful. And I love just your resourcefulness to, like, man step in. Like, step in and do something to be able to create that for you. Well, Darlene, just to again, make sure that, like, what we do here at PHHR certification, things like that would really serve what you want to do and totally makes sense. You want to be able to find clients, add money. Not uncommon. But what do you. If I can hand you, like, I don't know, maybe like a.
We still. We need to get the context of, like, well, how long has she been, like, she said she's been looking to make more money for the past couple years. What has she tried? This antique stuff, it's like 15 years ago. It's not really relevant for. So what has she tried?
Like a.
We still. We need to get the context of, like, well, how long has she been like, she said she's been looking to make more money for the past couple years. What has she tried? This antique stuff, it's like 15 years ago. It's not really relevant for that. And why didn't those things work? And what's prevented her from actually, like, getting a coach and things like that to start her own business that would maybe be online and wouldn't take so much on your body? Like, what's prevented you from doing that? Oh, I just didn't know. I mean. Yeah. And that that could be an issue. Can I share a perspective around that? I mean, if you've had this problem for the past three years now, again, the problem is we didn't really get too much of the problem, that she just wants to make more money. We don't really know why. So we're gonna have a harder time pushing back on it. But let's say we did get the problem. Okay. I mean, if you've had XYZ problem for the past three years, I guess whose responsibility to is it to go out and actually find a solution for it? Oh, it's my responsibility. So what's preventing me the past three years of actually going out and searching to find a solution? Oh, well, this belief. And that's the belief we need to destroy. Because if she continues with this belief of whether she's just, like, fearful Complacent, whatever it is, she doesn't think she has time. Who knows? If we allow this belief to go through and then we drop the price, she's going to be fearful. It's going to be a lot harder to then break that belief at the end. So that's why right in here, after we have the problem, we have more leverage. We find the belief that has been holding her back. Typically, I'm going to dive into an identity frame, okay. Of, like, pinning, you know, her, the entrepreneur versus, like, who she's been, like, the past three years or whatever it is. We need to understand her problems, to understand, like, who she has been. But pin these two against each other. And is she going, Is she okay being this person who she has been for the rest of her life? And why isn't she. She willing to allow that to happen? Like, that's the crux of the sale.
Like a whiteboard. And I can hand you a marker. Right. And so you can draw on this whiteboard. And you had access to me, my wife, our team, our resources, our instruments, how we help people to start their business, all that fun stuff. What do you feel would be, like, the top three things that we could give you so that you can just have a little bit more of a predictable income?
Three things that you can give me?
Yeah.
Or men or training on. Oh, yeah.
How do you find your clients?
Okay, find clients.
I'm still thinking here.
Take your time.
No rush.
By the way, I don't know. I watched quite a few of the videos, so they answered a lot of the questions.
Yeah.
Interesting. Gosh. And maybe how it. Fan the bare bones of it, how you keep records.
Okay. Yeah.
See one more. And is it true that we have access to other people to help us through it? You know, we have questions like support.
And when you say help us through it, it's like you've started your business. I get help. Is that right?
Yes.
Got it.
Now available. Is that help?
Got it. Okay.
Get her to expand. Well, cool.
I'm a pretty quick learner.
Good. Awesome. Well, that's helpful. That's helpful to know. And. And I really.
Oh, so like, really being able to get your questions answered and have that level of support. Okay, so why do you feel like that? Getting your questions.
How available is that help?
Got it. Okay.
Get her text. Yeah.
Well, cool.
I'm a pretty quick learner.
Good. Awesome. Well, that's helpful. That's helpful to know. And. And I really.
Oh, so like, really being able to get your questions answered and have that Level of support. Okay, so why do you feel like that getting your questions answered and support like that would be important to you? Oh, because of this, this, and this. Okay, cool. So you have more like meat on the bone. When you do then transition into your presentation, we have a motto, veteran support. Like, that would be important to you. Oh, because of this, this, and this. Okay, cool. So you have more in our community.
Fail fast, fail often, fail forward. And so good entrepreneurship is a lot. And you. You get it. Like being an antique owner. Antique store owner. But, Darlene, in the event that we can help you to find clients, keep records. Right. Develop the skill set to do inner healing. Right. In just more of a like meat on the bone.
When you do then transition into your.
Presentation, we have a motto, professional way, and even just really support you, like, link arms with you as you're building your business. Guess what would that do for you? What would that just unlock for you?
That'd be wonderful. I. What would it unlock for me? Yeah, I think it would expand my world.
How so?
Expand?
How so?
Good.
I would see if there's more opportunities.
Like, me personally, I would at least want to get some numbers out of her of, like, what she's looking to achieve. I do understand, again, with, like, compliance and stuff. Stuff. If you're trying just to stay away from numbers entirely with it being a biz op, it could, you know, you can get, you know, compliance could be a bitch on that. But, like, yeah, so far, so good. Where it's like, okay, like, how would I expand your word? What you'd be able to do? Good so far.
Yeah, I'm not sure.
Well, if you really think about it.
Okay, well, take a moment. If you thought about it.
Good.
What else would be expanded?
That's a good question.
Chock full of them.
Oh, I don't know. I'm not sure. I think that it would help me feel better knowing I'm helping other people. Yeah, I know.
Yeah.
Feel better in what way?
Yeah, that's a good question. I'm not sure what else to say because I don't know how it operates or.
Yeah, and that's fine. That's fine.
Well, okay.
Well, in the event that.
Cool. So you just got. Well, I don't know how this works. If somebody tells you, oh, I don't know how this works. I don't know what's possible. This is a really great moment for you to get. Take authority and get them to focus on what's important. You go, well, can I share perspective, Darlene? You don't know the how. That's why you're here. Like, I know the how. I've walked thousands of people through it. You just focus on what you want and I'll show you how to get there. Does that work? Okay, so focus. What do you actually want? Like, what do you want out of a business? And you just go right back into it. So what that does is like, hey, you don't need to focus on the how. I've walked thousands of people through it. Raise your authority and then you just focus on the want, get them to focus on the right things and then you get to expand, like what they actually want. Like the what.
We can help to expand your world, right? Because, you know, I think we're. You're thinking about the how, but I'm thinking about the why. And how do we get here? But what do you feel like that do for you personally, darling?
And there's different things we could have done to really, okay, expand your world. Like, how would it expand your world? And then she'd be able to have more of an impact on people. How would you have more of an impact on people if you were able to do this in a business? Like, get the how and why is expanding your impact to help more people? Where does that drive come from? Or why is that so important to you? You're going to get some real deep, deep, deep stuff there. Because she already mentioned it a little bit before, but we didn't really dig it fully out about some tragedy that happened in her life that really drives her to then, you know, go out, share the word, make sure she has an impact in other people's lives. So if you're able to get that out of her of, well, like this is why. And you being able to actually fulfill that purpose, like, what impact, like would that have on you personally? You see how it's a lot more of a tangible question, question, a deeper question of her fulfilling her purpose the way she sees it and being able to make a living while doing so.
Maybe it would give me some more confidence.
Yeah, that's awesome.
Because it'd be more professional way of doing things.
Yeah, yeah.
No, I just, I don't really think of the Lord as a professional type thing. It's more personal to me right now, but.
Got it. That makes sense. That makes sense.
So how would it give you more confidence, though?
Well, and darling, I love just the dream and the aspiration.
We just got to take these steps, like so much more and get more specifics. And it's just about being Curious about what she's saying because she's telling you things more surface level. We just have to take it that extra step further. Like, oh, how so why is that important to you? Where do you feel like that drive comes from to really do something like that? Why travel? Why do this? And in doing that, you'll be able to pull out a lot more specifics. And really where you're trying to get to at the end of future pays is like a moment in time that you can really help paint a picture in their mind of how their life would be different once they have the solution, like a specific moment in time. For example, let's say she's looking to travel. Okay, where does she want to travel to? Why does she want to travel? There is a specific spot. So if you really picture in your mind, you're able to make the type of impact you're looking to make. You're sitting on the beach and tarps and caicos, whatever it is, right? Sun on your face, sand in your feet, like at that moment, like. Like, how would that feel? And then what they'll do, and you can't see her because her camera's off, but she'll do this, even though you know the camera's off. She'll look up and she'll smile. She goes, I feel great. So it's like she has this actual image that she has in her mind of how her life will be different. It's more real, it's vivid. And then we rip it away so we can just get her an extra few steps to really help paint more.
Of that picture of being able to, like, just really help people encounter the Lord and it being paid and you having more freedom and expansion. But I have to ask, like, on the flip side, like, what happens if you decide not to take action in the call that the Lord's given you and you have to be forced to, you know, just drive and you have a hurt back and, you know, you're not quite professional in how you're helping people. And not to say that God's looking for professionals, but just more of an excellent way of doing things. Like, I guess what happens then?
I'm not sure because I don't know how long I'll be able to keep driving. So I'm not sure what'll say.
That's a huge pain point that we should have probably gotten, you know, six minutes into the conversation, you know what I'm saying? And if you have that leverage throughout the entire call of she's looking to do something Different, Yes. But part of it is because she doesn't even know how much longer she can do what she's currently doing. And what's her backup plan? Do you get what I mean? So we can dig into it now, but that's why I'm saying we could have gotten it so much earlier and it would have just changed the rest of the conversation.
What happened as far as my living situation?
Well, what would happen then if you can't drive anymore?
I own my. I own my home. I'm not really too worried about it. But yeah, I'm 10,000. Did you hear how much my income is? It's not much.
It's 10,000 a year.
Yeah.
Okay.
So that covers just barely the basics. Yeah, I don't get help from, you know, the state or anything like that. Doing it all on my own.
So what would happen if you can't drive and that income goes away and you can't cover the basics anymore? Boom.
I'm not sure what my future will hold if I continue the way I am.
That makes sense. And Darlene, are you willing to settle for that?
We just need to take it that extra step because. Just put yourself in her position. And I think what happens and what I'm hearing is we don't want to go deeper and really dive into the pain out of. We don't want them to feel bad. But if this person does not actually understand the gravity of the situation, the likelihood that they're going to change is going to be lower and they're going to get the consequences of them not having a job. And even with their current job, they barely, barely make ends meet. So then if they don't have the job, like what is that reality actually going to look like? What would be the day to day impact? What would you have to do? What are these things? We need to take it that step deeper to get her to crystallize the gravity of the consequences of the situations. If things don't change and we're not doing her a service by not digging into those consequences, if anything, we're doing her a disservice because if she doesn't think about these things, the likelihood that she is going to change is going to be much lower. So you do it out of a sense of compassion, of if this person doesn't change, they really are going to run into their consequences. So I need them to fully understand what those consequences are. And then you just hold up a mirror and if they don't change, you do all you can do, but at least they understand the gravity of the situation if they don't change?
Not really, no.
Okay, and who decides whether you settle for that?
Not really. Like, go back and listen.
That makes sense. And Darlene, are you willing to settle for that?
Not really, no.
Not really. Well, no, I'm not. You need to get that definite. And anytime they do give those, well, probably, or maybe the easiest way that you'll overcome it 95% of the time is you just repeat back to it in a questioning tone. Maybe. Probably. Not really. Well, no. No, I won't. Okay, whose choice? Right. Then you can take that extra step. But if we don't fix their language when they're moving forward, again, we're just gonna run into more issues. Same thing with the wishful language and then the non committal language as well.
Okay, and who decides whether you settle for that?
Me.
Exactly. So. Well, cool. Well, Darlene, I love your zeal and I love.
So time to make a change then. Okay, cool. So again, overall, I'll say there, there's some things that were at the beginning of the conversation that just made us start on our back foot. We did good at just staying in the pocket, keeping the conversation going. We got a little bit sidetracked on interesting information, not important information, and the conversation really just stayed surface level when we could have gone so much deeper. If you do that, the likelihood that they're going to give objections at the end is going to be close to zero. And if they do, it's. It's just a different ball game. You're not having to deal with the same level of objections. So really just maybe taking an extra minute or two in the actual discovery will save you 30 minutes on the back end of discovery or 30 minutes on the back end of objection handling. So take the couple extra minutes and again, if you cut out just focusing on the interesting information, which sidetracked us for a couple minutes, again, it's about the same, you know, 23 minutes as far as the discovery. We can probably cut that down to, you know, 20 minutes because again, we did loop back around again as far as the problem and we didn't really dig right into it. But overall, like, it's not a bad call. There are just some things we can really tighten up to make sure we get deeper in the conversation. We get rid of some of these limiting beliefs. We, we, we can address some of the language that she's talking about. And then that way at the end, the likelihood that she's going to give you objection is going to be close to Zero if she is able to do it financially. So let's jump into when you drop the price.
And the soonest that you can become certified is about 7 months. Microwave 2. But God is a crock pot. And then finally. So the funding needed for us to be able to help you to build this business. Now again, Darlene, I know you mentioned you have. You get paid 10k a year. You're driving. Totally get that. But it's good to just put this number out here and let's just break this down together. The funding needed is 5k for the year.
Yeah, that's what I had seen somewhere online. I saw that.
Okay. Oh, wow. Okay.
You seem shocked. All right, so just be careful of making the money too big of a thing because if you treat it like a big thing, they'll treat it like a big thing. Again, it's not that big of a deal.
So. Hey, you. You hopped in here. You wanted to confirm that? Yeah, that's. That's really the ticket in so that we can help you to build that business. And Darlene, you feel like this could be the answer for you or.
I'm going to pray about it, of course. Have you heard that response before?
All the time.
Okay, good.
Well, because I have heard that response many times. I love to ask, just so I can send over the most relevant information. What do you feel like you need to pray about? Barely.
If this is where the Lord's leading me. Also, I had some questions of certification. What is the certification for? I mean, do we need some type of insurance to do this?
You. It depends. It kind of depends on like what route you take.
Because is it really depends on what of the services you're going to be providing. Is there any particular reason why you ask? Put it right back on her.
Odd as it may sound, some people get certified with us, but they actually now they're on payroll at a church, and so they don't need insurance per se. You know, the church might take over. But if someone does get insurance, what we've discovered is kind of. It's. It's basically an umbrella policy, which is something like $7 a month. So it's nothing outrageous, but yeah, that's. That's kind of what that looks like.
Any reason why you ask another question too?
You. You just want to understand what are some. Behind some of these questions. We. We don't want to be in a position where she's just like firing questions at you. You do want to clarify. She does have questions, but if she's just in a Position of like, asking questions, Asking questions, Asking questions. And if you answer just one of them slightly wrong, then she's going to try to disqualify you. You're just not in the best position. Now she's in control of the conversation. So anytime you do answer a question, any reason why you ask any questions on how that works, does that make sense? And then you just move right on.
It slipped my mind right then. I don't know what it was. Now.
That's okay. Yeah. We'll give it some time and to pop up. But I wanted to ask to. When. When you say if. If this is what the Lord is calling you to do, how do you mean by that?
Well, I feel like he has a plan for all of our lives.
Yeah.
I've always thought him before I made any big decisions, to me, this kind of big decision.
Yeah.
So that's what I mean by it.
Okay. And could I make a suggestion?
Mm.
So tell me what comes your mind with this? But God has a plan for us, but he doesn't plan for us.
Right. What comes to mind? My mind.
Yeah.
If I feel peace about a decision, then I know it's something that he wants me to do.
Okay.
Okay. And yeah, I mean, you've. We've spent a good 40 minutes together. You feel in peace. You feel an uncertainty.
What do you mean by feel peace, though? Because everyone's a little bit different on what they mean. Mean by that. And. And how would you actually come to the. Like, what would, I guess, be the biggest deciding factors for you as far as you actually coming to peace with this? Want to flush it out to something right now? It's still so ambiguous.
How are you feeling?
I'm feeling peace. I'm just not sure about the cost per one, but I knew what it was.
Yeah, definitely. Definitely.
Okay.
Got a deliverance ministry. I think that's something that piques my interest.
Yeah. It's awesome. Yeah. And. And. And Darlene, money aside.
Good.
Like, do you feel like this is something that the Lord would want you to do?
I do believe so, yes.
Okay.
Why, though?
Because he knows my physical condition. He knows my age.
Yeah.
He knows it's something I wanted to do in the past.
Yeah.
I didn't pursue.
Yeah. Okay.
Well, yes, I do think it's something he may want me to do.
Yeah. And why I kind of cringe a little bit is because we're asking her if a third party, who she says she needs to go talk to, even though it's like, pray, like, talk to the Lord. Same thing with like a spouse. Like, you know, do you feel like your wife would want you to do this? Well, I don't know. That's why I need to have the conversation. Or I think she would, but I still need to have the conversation. You know what I'm saying? So it's. Well, would you do it? Like money aside, would you do it or money aside, do you feel like this would be the answer for you? Why? Oh, because of this, this and this. So get. Do they feel like it would be the answer rather than do they feel like the Lord will want them to do it because you haven't gotten out of the well, I need to pray out of it. Pray on it. Objection. So a small tweak to make.
Yeah, that's awesome. Okay, so it sounds like he may want you to do that. Now the question is, do you want to do this?
I do want to do it, but I don't know.
Yeah.
Okay. And can I just share a perspective around that as well?
Just. Just get the. Well, why would you want to do.
It though a little fast?
Get her to expand on it.
Yeah. Thank you. Well, do you feel like you want to start an inner healing business or do you need to.
Good that you're finally addressing her language. Now we could have addressed this like way earlier, but better late than never. Fantastic, bro. It's good that you picked up on it.
Both.
Okay, now in my mind, want is based off of convenience, right? Like I want to have a six pack abs. Right. I want to go to the.
So just a little thing you can do better. Instead of like, in my mind, it means this. Just ask her, do you know the difference between a want and a need? And then you can tell her just slightly different, but it doesn't make a.
Huge impact the beach right now. Right. But like, unless I make it a need, it's not going to happen. And need in my mind is, Lord, I'm doing. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get myself in the best position to get out of just driving.
Good.
And hop into a place where, God, I'm going to be able to build my business, to be able to have, you know, that autonomy. But I'm curious, do you feel like you. I guess with those terms, do you feel like you want an inner healing business kind of based off of convenience, or do you feel like you need it? Like it's. It's time. It's time that I. I need this and therefore I'm gonna take a step.
No, they equally.
Both.
Both smears. Both equal. One to any.
Yeah, okay.
Okay. So she said both. Just dive deeper on the need. Do you know, like, oh, like, the want is this. The need is this. So is it. Is it a want or is it need? Oh, well, it's both. Well, why is it a need, though? And again, just get her to talk about why it's a need. The. It doesn't really matter if she's like, oh, well, it's both. Well, just get her to talk about why it's a need and she'll just expand more. You just. You get her to talk about this stuff that's going to move the sale forward. Which number one is it becoming a need and why she would do it. We don't need to talk about, oh, why it's a want. Doesn't matter. Why is it a need? Because she's buying into that. It is a need. Why is it a need? Yeah.
So. So. And again, like, maybe I'm miscommunicating that, but, like, I want to.
Like, she's. She's already bought into the frame that, hey, it's both. It's both. I want to do this, but I also need to do it, too. Fantastic. Why do you feel like you. Why do you feel like it's a need? Right? So she's like, oh, like, I want to. Like, I have that earning, but it's also a need because I need to change. Doesn't matter. Like, she at least bought into that. It is a need. So just get her to expand on that. It's a need. I don't need somebody to tell me, oh, it's not a want. I just need them to tell me it's a need. Hopefully that makes sense. So once you get that, oh, it is a need. It's about the want and a need. Regardless, who cares what she says as far as it doesn't have to make sense as long as she buys into that it's a need.
See, I want to take a nap right now. I'm a little tired, but I'm not going to because there's a call that I have on my life, and that's. That's to help people. And so I'm shifting into my need. And in this case, it's helping you right now, darling, my need is I need to help you. But what I want to do based.
Off now, this, this. I enjoy the way that you're framing this because your. Your intent is coming off really good. Like, hey, I'm here to help. All this good stuff, again, probably not needed. Just right now. But the intent of what you're showing of, hey, I need to help you. That's my passion. That's my purpose. That's why I'm here. The intent of what you're saying is.
Good from convenience, is just go take a nap.
Okay. Why do you feel you need to help me?
Why do I feel like I need to help you?
And see, this is a problem. If we put too much focus on ourselves, she just flipped it right back on you. You had gotten bought into it. You gotten her to buy into the fact that it was a need. Just expand on it. That's all.
Yeah. Why do you feel that way?
Yeah. Well, I mean, we can start here. I've been in your shoes. I've been a pastor for over 10 years.
I know what something to be very, very, very careful of, especially at the end of this conversation, end of the sales conversation, when you're in objection handling is the up speak. Be very careful of that because what's going to come across is your conviction. So if you are using upspeak, you know, at the end of each sentence, it goes up like, I've been a pastor for 10 years. It's very much rapport seeking. You're not coming across as an authority. It should be going down like, hey, I've been in your shoes before. I've been in pasture for over 10 years. Down at the each of. Down at the each of every sentence. So you'll come across more authoritative, you have more conviction and. And people are more likely to lead. You're more likely to lead people and they're more likely to follow you. Okay? So just be careful of upspeak, especially at the end in objection handling, where you need your conviction to be high.
What it's like to pour myself out like a drink offering and not get a dime and think that I'm storing treasure in heaven. See, it's up only to discover that God's heart is that we can make the kingdoms of this world look like the. Like the kingdom of heaven. And when I see and hear your story, Darlene, it's not uncommon. I get it. Like, I'm afraid to use this word, but it's the. Like you're kind of scared. It's like, what if this guy takes my money and then runs to Mexico? Right?
But I hadn't even thought that way. I don't know.
And see, this is a problem when we're. Now we're assuming and we're putting thoughts in her mind that, like, might not even be in her head. We haven't really dig deep into what the actual objection is and where it's like, she needs to think about the money. So money aside, like, would you do it? Yes. Why would you do it? Get that definite. But why actually invest in yourself so you can make more money? Can I make a suggestion? Which one is the problem? Which one is the symptom? You ask that to get her to tell you the problem is she does not have the skills to be making more money. And the symptom is she doesn't have the money. So are you willing to focus on the actual problem rather than just the symptom? Why would you. But if you just continue to focus on the symptom, the money you don't have, what's going to happen? How are we ever going to change our situation? Okay, so that's where we need to get her to. So right now, because again, we put the focus a little bit too much on us, which just naturally she's going to ask more questions about that. We're putting the focus on us. Well, why is that the case? You should just ask. You should. Having a conversation. And then we're assuming her problem, we're assuming her objection, and then we're putting beliefs in her mind that she shouldn't have. You get what I'm saying? So it's. It's just making it more of an uphill battle.
Not even think that. But yes, I know there's lots of scams.
Exactly. And so what I've discovered, too, Darlene, is that there are times when we know what we need to do, and it's going to be scary. And being a believer, when we look at the word, there are so many countless stories of faith. And I think this story right now with you is. It's kind of like the 12 spies. God has shown you the promised land, but God just isn't going to hand it to us. We need to confront things in our life, and sometimes that's fear. And you know the story. There's 12 spies, 10 of them. Well, they all see the promised land, but 10 of them say, that's just too big and scary for me, or that's just too expensive for me. And then there's only two who say, you know, we can take this land. Yes, there's giants. Yes, it's expensive. But Lord, I'm a person of faith. And so knowing that, Darlene, what do you feel like? Or who do you feel like you need to be?
I feel like I need to be.
Yeah. Do you feel like you need to be the 10 spies that are afraid and just kind of shrink.
Be like Caleb and I can't remember the other one's name.
Joshua.
Joshua.
Why is that?
Yeah, you need to be like him. Step out in faith.
Totally.
And see, it's good that really landed. And it's good that you. You. You very much. You know this avatar and what speaks to them. Just get them to expand on it. Well, why do you need to be like them? And how does that compare to how you're showing up right now, though? So what happens if we continue to, I guess, like, hold on to this fear and we never X, Y and Z? Do you want to settle for that or are you willing to allow that to happen? So what do we need to do? Just take it a couple extra steps.
And so Darlene, knowing that, what do you feel like you need to do to put yourself in the best position?
It's just too early. We need to take it a couple extra steps to really tie off, like, she. It's good. She took a step in our direction. Fantastic. That frame landed. Now we need to take it further to make sure it cements. Why do you need to do this? How does that compare with how you're showing up now? So what would happen if you're not that. If you are like those other people who are scared? What impact is going to have if we continue to hold on to this fear? Do you want to allow that to happen? So what do we have to do? So it's an extra two minutes to really make sure we cement the frame that she just bought it. So she took half a step forward. Now we just need to get her to cement it and then take more steps forward to really make sure we overcome this fear.
To be like Joshua and to be like Caleb.
So. Yes. But yeah. And as far as the certification, what is that good for? I mean, does the state care if a person like this is certified? Do I have to worry about the state licensing or anything like that?
Great question. So it depends on the state. States vary. But to make things simple, what it looks like is we would basically set up what's called a doing business as. And you basically get a business bank account. And whenever you do get a session, someone buys from you. What you do is you put that money in the. In the business account and legally in your state, it's doing business as. Now, that's the greatest place to start. Like, I wouldn't Recommend People getting LLCs. They do it anyway. Like, it's kind of fancy. Hey, open up an llc, but it's not as complicated as some people may think it is. But I will say again, Darlene, that because you love the Lord and because you're passionate about him, that's really the gasoline in the engine. Because it's one thing to build a business off of like, hey, I'm just.
So we can probably just be a little bit more concise in our answer and then just get the focus right back on her. Well, I mean it really is just going to depend on what state you're in. But despite all that, we work with you individually with whatever situation you're in, so you don't have to deal with anything as far as the state making sure everything is up to par. Is there any particular reason why you ask? Right, just right back on her.
It's going to make money. Cool. But your gasoline is that you love the Lord and you want people to know Him. And so I think what we've done well is. Well, you're already doing that. How do we now just attach an engine that pays you so that you're doing what you love to do and you're being paid for.
Next question is, can it be a non profit or not?
Absolutely. We have some people that choose that route.
Any reason why I ask? We just don't know why she's asking these questions.
I need to think about a little bit more and do some praying.
We do. We just don't understand why she's asking some of these questions and we don't want to assume we do understand why she's asking this questions. So anytime you answer it, you did good that time. You answered it concisely. Yep. Some people go that route, other people don't. Any reason why you ask why is she asking these questions and then that. Then you can then direct the conversation because what happened there? She's like, ask a question. You answered lol. She asked another question. You answered lol. Okay, well, I need to think about this. Ah, so it's like, yeah. Any reason why you ask? Oh, I just want to make sure we could do this. And yeah, we got all that stuff like taken care of. Again, we've worked with thousands of clients. Really, it's not, you know, does the process work? Is like, we know it works. Really all we need to focus on right now is are you actually committed and will you come in and put in the work? So do I ask are you committed to do X, Y and Z so you can A, B and C. Now the focus is on her and her level of commitment. Rather than her just asking questions as is answering. And then there's a lull and then she's like, well, still, you think about it. You get what I mean?
Okay, yeah, well, that's not a problem. And, and, and again, just so I'm not leaving you with, you know, all the information you might need, like, what do you feel like you need to think about slash pray about?
Okay, now I should ask this question. Can demons be made? Can payments be made under 5,000?
See, we still really haven't attacked the money and what she can do. So this is something that again, it's all. It's lingering in the back of her head. We haven't fully addressed the money because we haven't fully addressed the money. Then we're going through these belief systems and we're really answering some logistical questions, but we're not getting to the real root of it, which is how am I going to pay for this? And because we didn't go through the money. Objection. Get a payment that would work for her. The rest. Until we have that, the rest of this conversation, like, it doesn't make sense because she could be like, totally on board. Like, yes, I want to do this, but I have $2 in my bank account. Well, fuck, then there's nothing you can do. Right? So we just got to make sure, like there is something like, okay, could you do this? Is this working about share restraints? Okay. Given that it works in your budget restraints, how would you like to proceed? I still need to think about it. Okay, cool. Then you can go through that of then it's just going to be fear. So it just makes it simpler.
Say that again. I'm sorry.
Can I make payments to cover this?
Yeah, Darlene, we. Some people, I don't let them. But understanding your circumstance, 10k a year. I get that. I'm willing to work with you. Absolutely. And yeah, 100%.
Okay. So again, run into the same problem. When somebody says, oh, can we break those payments up? Oh, yeah. It's going to depend on what works best for you and how. We can maybe take a look at that. And is there any particular reason why you ask? Oh, I don't have all the money up front. Okay, not an issue. Money aside, if you had a duffel bag full of cash, like, would you do it right into the money? Objection. Why would you do it though? So I need to get them to admit that they don't have the money, so that way I can get their commitment that put the money aside, will they actually do it? And then Their commitment to change. Then we can go into, well, how can we make this work logistically?
I'm willing to work with you, darling, if you're willing to work for yourself.
Okay, well, how do I let you know when I decide?
Yeah, well, I mean, and here's also the thing. If we don't figure out the money, like what is she going to think about if she doesn't even know if she can do it? You get what I'm saying? So you can let her know that. And like, okay, well, is there any particular reason why you ask? Oh, well, you know, I just want to see, you know, what I can do and things like that. It's like, okay, yeah, not an issue. Just so you have all the information so you can go and think about it. If you just had a duff bag full of cash, like, would you do it? Right. And then you go into the money. Objection. You find a payment plan that would work in her budget restraints. And then you go for the close again. If she tells you she needs to think about it, then flush out again. Oftentimes just going to be fear. And, and then you just go down the fear route. But you can only go down that route if you know she can do a particular payment plan, payment method. There's something that she knows she can tangibly, tangibly do to move forward.
Let me ask you this. Do you feel like you're committed to this?
I feel like I certainly could be.
And, and, and that's why I would be careful with questions like, like that, this deep into. Objection. Handling when we don't have the tie downs. If you ask someone are they committed to this when they're fearful, if they haven't figured out the money, the reliability of that question, the answer they're going to give you is very low. Well, I could be. You see, like that question didn't help us any. So just be careful of asking those type of questions this late in the conversation. Again, not are they committed to do this program, are they committed to get their outcome? Two wildly different things. At this point, we should not really be talking about the program. We should be talking about their commitment, who they want to be and are they actually willing to change to become that person? That's all we're now talking about, but we're still stuck into talking about the program, which, you know, I could be. Well, are you actually committed to change? Because that's the hardest part is making that commitment to change to, to do X, Y and Z.
Okay, you could, I'm sensing maybe some hesitation but tell me about it, because I still don't.
Because I haven't been in any of the training. I don't know how to, you know, how you find the client. I don't know. I have not been in any of the training, so I don't know.
Yeah, well, how would you know what it's like?
Right? I'd have to pay the money to find out, and I'm not sure I can do that yet until I speak with the Lord.
Okay. Yeah. Well, can I. Could I make another, just quick suggestion, darling, Is it all right? All right? Only because you're a studious woman and I know you know the word. You know the Bible. Praise the Lord. Come on, Jesus. Something really neat happens in Genesis 1. When we see God create Adam, we.
Genesis 1. I thought it was in 2, but go ahead.
My point exactly. You are very studious. Look at that. So Genesis 2, God says, Let us make man in our image and in our likeness. Now, what's interesting is that, that God tells Adam, adam, okay, I need you to cultivate the land. I need you to, you know, pull out some weeds. I need you to tend the garden. But then there's something very powerful and interesting that happens in Genesis 2. We see God say, adam, I've put my image on you, right? Genesis 2:16. Let us put. Let us make man. Let us. Let us put our image on him. I. My image works for me. Now I want to see if my image works for you. And now I want to see you make the decision on giving these animals names. That's not on me. I want you to name them. And so, darling, I can definitely respect that you want to pray about it. But the thing.
And that's a good frame to really, especially because you have knowledge of the Bible and it's a good frame. But we still haven't tied off the money quite yet, so it's going to be hard for her to say, oh, I can do this until we tie off the money.
Thing is, the Lord is in you. He's in me. Where two or more are gathered, there he is. So he is here with us now, knowing that, like what. What do you name the animals? What. What do you need to do?
That's what I said. I need to pray about it.
So that would be like Adam saying, God, I can't name the animals.
Can you see how that could be the case?
That's completely different.
Yeah. She's not buying into your frame.
How so?
Half of my in his income was involved, for one.
See, we still haven't tied off money. That's the big, glaring elephant in the room is, how can she do this? Half of her income a year needs to be spent on this program. How can she. And until she has a clarity of how she can, it's going to be hard.
Okay, what else? How's that different?
I think it would be a pleasurable experience naming the animals. And Adam wasn't created. He was formed. Completely different. Genesis 1:26, 27, around there is when all the races were created, but Adam was formed.
Okay, I think we're getting away from my point, though. But what I'm trying to say, Darlene, is that God said, adam, I want you to make a decision.
Right.
So.
And what did it?
Yeah, and Adam did it.
And why. Why would he want him to make the decision?
And if we want to get theological, we live in a new covenant reality.
Because, like, now you're in a little bit of a frame battle on, again, scripture. It's like, is it moving it forward? So I'd just be careful of it.
And what happened before the fall, which is Genesis 3, is original intent of man. And when Jesus came back. I'm sorry, when Jesus came as a man, he said, okay, all this old covenant stuff, I'm gonna go ahead. What was that?
It was fulfilled.
Exactly. And so we. And so all that to say we see the original heart of God in Genesis 1. Why would God give man his image and still make the decisions for him? That's like me telling my son, hey, buddy, no, no, no, you don't. You don't make decisions. You come to me. Now, he's two right now, so I kind of want that. But there will become a time when this. When it's like, hey, buddy, I've taught you everything I know. My image is on you. And so, Darlene, this is my point. I can respect that you want to pray.
We still haven't addressed the money, but.
Knowing what I know, knowing that you have halted this momentum in the past, and you've always wanted to do this, I would recommend that we would take some action today.
I understand that.
Okay. Now, we didn't dive into previously the action that she took and why she hasn't taken, like, why she hasn't taken action, why she hasn't gotten success before. Like, this is like, something we just haven't talked about. So. And to be frank, why does she care what your recommendation is now? Sometimes people will ask you, like, hey, what do you think I should do at that point? Dude, you've got the trust. There you have the authority, then you can be like, hey, this is what I suggest. This is what we do. Are you on board? But when there's still a bit of a disconnect here, you can see like she's battling your frame a bit, she's pushing back and you're like, this is what I recommend we do. Yeah, I get that. She's not saying, oh, I like, like, I think so too, or anything. Like, okay, why do you get that? We need to at least get some of her buy in so you can go at it a different route. It's like, my concern is if we don't go ahead and take the action we need to take, we're just going to fall into the same patterns that we have been for the past three years. So what do you feel like you need to actually do to make sure you break these patterns? You get what I'm saying? It's just, it comes from a different place rather than I suggest we do this or you can just go down if you really want to build urgency because it sounds like this is what we're really pushing for. You can use an analogy of when the best time to take action is. I always use new year, new me going to the gym and it's like, and I get, you know, we're wanting to push this off for a few days. And I've been in your shoes before, I guess, like, what if it wasn't what you thought it was? Well, what do you mean? Well, when the. When is the best time to actually take action on your goals? For instance, when somebody is looking to lose weight and they tell themselves they're going to start losing weight in the new year, they're going to be one of those new Year, new me type of people and start going to the gym. How long do those people go to the gym? Couple weeks, if you're lucky. Don't you agree? Why is that? Because if they're really serious about getting in shape and losing weight, when would they have started? Yeah, as soon as they made the decision that needed to do it. So it's like the best time to start was probably yesterday, last year, two years ago, three years ago, like, next best time to start. When is it? Why is it? And again, you are leading them, but you're getting them to actually answer the questions, come to their conclusions rather than you just making statements.
And so here's the thing. Like, I understand something like 5k is scary. Like, we don't even have to go down that, go down that route because I think really, what I'm after is commitment, Darlene. If you are committed to this money, that's the easy part. That's like handing someone a. Like, hey, here's the perfect workout. But if they're not committed to actually working out, like, that's. That plan's not going to work. And so this is what I would recommend instead. Like, because something like 5k is just a lot. I get it. Like, and rather than talking about what you don't have. What. What do you have? Just to see if we can help you to put yourself in that best position.
And I think I would feel more comfortable if I could talk to people that have done this to maybe were in my position.
Okay, got it.
We can attack comfortability.
What would you like for them to say?
We can attack comfortability, but again, just because the money hasn't been, like, the money is still the big elephant in the room.
How they're doing now.
Okay, now that's helpful to know.
I mean, if it has actually improved their life.
Yeah. I only laugh because I know it's inside of here. That makes sense, Darlene. And really, it's a. Like, hey, we can just kind of, like, flesh this out. But it's kind of a trust thing. Like, hey, you. You don't know me from Adam. No pun intended. And you want to just make sure that this is going to.
Okay. Help you to a better way to do that. When they're saying, oh, can you send me over some people who have gone through it? And you go like, okay, yeah, potentially. Most of the clients we work with, they get pretty busy. Like, that's why they do come to us. I am curious, though. If I do send somebody over to you, do you feel like they're going to have good things to say or bad things to say? Well, I don't know. Well, I mean, if I'm sending them to you, like, what do you think they're going to say? Send bad things or they've gotten results, so they're going to say good things. Oh, well, they're going to say good things. Yeah, of course. So it's like, to be frank, like, you already know if I send anyone over to you, like, what they're going to say. They're going to have good things to say. What we really need to talk about is what you said before is you'd be more comfortable if you talk to somebody. Can I share perspective? Oh, yeah, sure. You starting your own business, you getting out of what you have been doing and really starting this new journey, like, is it supposed to be comfortable? Oh, well, I mean, no, it's not. Well, why isn't it? And I get like, hey, it's a big step. I'm not going to take that away from you. But I'm here to tell you you're exactly where you're supposed to be. Because if I told you, like, hey, you know, 5K, you're cool as a cucumber, you know, I'd have to check your pulse, right? Because it means we're not talking about anything important. Because who do you know who stay? Who or who do you know that grows outside of their comfort zone? Nobody.
Yeah.
So now we just have to talk about the feeling you're feeling right now of being a bit uncomfortable. It's exactly what you're supposed to feel because it means we're growing. And that feeling isn't going to go away. All we get to do is decide what we actually do with that feeling. Because we have two options. Number one is we can allow it to constrict us. We don't make the change. We stay inside of our comfort zone. And people do this their entire life. I don't want to see you fall into this trap. Second option is we can take that feeling and we can shape it. We can shape it into taking massive action. So we put some skin in the game. Now, this has to work. We make it work. So which one would you rather do? Allow it to constrict you or shape it into taking massive action to get to your goals? Why would you want to shape it? What if you don't? What if you allow it to constrict you and you never actually get to your goals? And God forbid, a year, two years from now, you're not able to actually drive and you can't afford the basics. Do you want to allow that to happen? So what do you need to do to make sure we actually start our own business and we get X, Y and Z? Okay.
Get a new life, new results. Is that right?
Yeah.
Right?
Yeah.
And so help me meet my goals. Yep.
Totally. Well. Well. And let me ask you this. Like, where do you feel like that? And I don't know if it's like a. I guess we could say uncertainty or like, maybe fear. But where do you feel like that fear comes from?
Because I've made bad decisions before in my life.
Yeah.
Good.
Okay. Yeah. Okay. And so that pain of making bad decisions and now being uncertain, where do you feel like that's led you?
I don't know. In some ways, I feel like I'm doing pretty good in some ways. I don't. It led me to bad marriages, that's for sure.
Okay, gotcha. Gotcha. Okay, so I would then ask, like, are you gonna let bad experiences in the past burn you twice good?
I don't know. I'm not sure. Hopefully not.
Yeah, I agree. Hopefully not. Well, hopefully I'll have to ask, like, who. Who decides whether.
Why wouldn't you want them to burn you twice again? Like, get her to expand. Get her to come to these conclusions. Get her to entrench herself more and because she's taking some steps towards you, just get her to talk about it more. Get her to expand. We don't have to do all this work, man. She can. She can talk, she can explain. She can expand, and she'll be. She'll lull herself into the sale. Like, she will. She'll talk herself into it because, like, it is something she needs to do. Like, she'd already told you she needed to do this. We just got to expand, get her to talk about more of why she needs it, more of why she doesn't want to be. You know, allow these decisions to burn her twice. Just get her to expand on it, rather than us trying to overcompensate with our explanations.
You get burned twice.
I suppose I do, but. Yeah, maybe I just don't have the confidence yet. I don't know. This inner healing, it would help me. The inner healing session maybe would help me. I don't know.
Yeah. Okay.
I like her.
Well, how about we do this? I'm gonna go ahead and de risk this entire thing, darling, only because I care about you. I want to see you win again. I've been in your shoes. I know what it's like to just pour myself out and. So how about we do this? It still is going to require you taking a step forward, but it's de risked. I'd like for you to purchase an inner healing session. And I'm gonna make. I'm gonna make this to where, like, it's really gonna help you. You have the inner healing session. You know what it's like. You know, wow, this was amazing. So good. Or, I mean, well, you have the session. You can be like, this was terrible. I'm so glad I did not buy that certification.
Okay.
Or.
So, yeah, we went for a while. You might have another call coming up. So it looks like we're going for the downside. So, again, we still haven't gotten out of her, like, what she can do financially. And this seems like it's the biggest hurdle. We still don't really quite understand what her situation is, what she can do all these different things. So it's. We're just guessing. And that's. That's the issue here. It's better we know, it's better we ask.
Or you can say, wow, that was so good. I like this, and now I'd like to come in more. What do you think about that?
I think it probably be interesting.
You don't sound too certain about that route.
Doesn't it sometimes take more than one session? Or it.
I mean, it could, but I mean, hey, if you want to get three, we could do that too.
How much does that cost?
Three sessions cost 500. So.
How long are the sessions?
They're one hour long.
One hour? Well, yeah, I don't know. It's still something I want to think about.
Yeah.
Is that possible? To think about it and pray about it? I mean, or is this a close the deal now or the opportunity is gone forever?
You did do some sales and antiques, didn't you, Darlene? I won't put that pressure on you, but.
And I really, when somebody says, oh, well, can I, can I think about it? Like, can I do that? Or is this a decision I have to make right now? You was like, well, I mean, you definitely can go ahead and think about it and you can exit this call. There's a little X up there. But I don't know if that's the best thing for you, because if this has been the problem for the past three years, like, what's going to change? If you don't do anything about it, then we're just like, we're back on. Like, yeah, man, you can do that. The X is right there. But what's going to change? So, like, my concern is if we, if we do go away, and again, you might have the best interest or best intent at heart. But what, what happens is, is like we just fall back into our old patterns. And I don't want to see you fall into that. So in order for us to make a change, like, do you feel like we have to keep making decisions like we've always made them, or do we need to make different type of decisions? Why do we need to make different type of decisions? What happens if you don't? What happens if you keep on telling yourself you need a few days and you continue to push this off? Like, what's going to change? What impact would that have?
Consequence really do relay on, like, hey, just knowing what I know, like, I don't think I would best serve you by just saying, all right, Darlene, you just go pray about it. Because I know exactly what that process looks like, and it's simply, okay, I'm off the phone and all right, Lord, what should I do? And what typically.
Okay, here's what you can do. Okay, you are selling them, and then you're going to teach them how to sell their service. Okay, so just put them in your shoes. So you just want to flip it back on them. And this is exactly how you're going to do it. It's just like. Well, I mean, Darlene, if you did have your own inner healing business and you're talking to somebody and. And everything lined up perfectly, they needed help with exactly what you help with, and they really needed it. And if they didn't have it, they're going to run into all these issues. Do you feel like you would just let them go without actually being able to solve their problem, or would you actually try to help them overcome anything that was blocking them from being able to make the decision? Because if you actually weren't able to help them on some level, do you feel like you're letting them down? Why do you feel like you'd be letting them down? So I have to ask, like, do you want me to let you down and you should flip it right back on them? Well, no. So that way they can. They can see, like, where you're coming from. Because on some level, they're going to be doing what you do. Right. Like, you teach them how to sell, like, inner healing. So if they are talking to somebody and everything lines up, but there's just something holding them back, like, would you try to help that person? Why would you try to help that person? And if you couldn't help that person, even though everything you. Everything lines up and they really need your help, do you feel like you're letting them down? Why? Like, do you want me to let you down?
Happens is crush them. Hey, my son, my daughter. Like, by golly, I sent that man to you. Like, you know what you need to do? So knowing that, again, you have held yourself back, like, darling, that that's the best I can do for you. Like, hey, let's just get you a session and you don't have to get the whole certification. Yeah, One session alone is $200. And so you come in, you have the session. Wow, this was so good. Then we can explore. If we need to hop on another call, then let's do that. But what do you think? I mean, I I can't. I can't bend any lower than this, Darlene. Like, we.
I still mean that. I might say no, then.
All right, darling. Well, this was a bummer, darling. Well, I am.
Okay.
No, this is definitely not goodbye.
So just overall, like, it's good that you stayed in the pocket. You went for it. Just the biggest things is we need to be able to dig deeper in discovery, get beneath the surface, so that way we can pull out real pain, real urgency out of her. Now, there was real pain there, but again, we kept it fairly surface level, so we weren't really, really able to dig out of it. Now, when we're in. Objection. Handling. We need to understand what we are actually handling. Make sure we handle that first. We get the big elephant out of the room, which for her it was the money. Then from there, we can start to really get into the mentality of who she actually needs to be to be the entrepreneur that can affect the most people. Okay. But until we get the money taken care of, it's going to be hard. All right, let me know if you have any questions on this. And hopefully this has been helpful, bro. Okay, so this next call is going to be with one of my clients who sells an Airbnb biz op. So let's.
Beautiful.
I see and hear you.
Great.
Beautiful.
Can you hear me and see me? Okay. Yep.
Fantastic, man. I am just pulling up your file, so just give me a moment.
Yeah, absolutely. Take your time.
Perfect.
Well, dude, it does look like you.
Booked in here pretty recently. It looks like you're speaking to Adam a little bit about getting, like, possible outside help with Airbnb start investing.
Yeah, I just wanted to kind of get some general base knowledge about stuff. I did tell him that I wasn't exactly in a spot to start now, but he said that he'd be more than willing to connect me with you so that when I do have the capital and potentially the credit score in the next few months to start moving forward, then it'll be a little bit easier for me.
Perfect.
Perfect. Beautiful. Now, obviously, we came in from Instagram. I see it over here. Just so I can get, like, a better understanding. We're looking for a little more information on Airpreneur, or what was the motive, I guess, for booking the call.
We've been exploring ways over the last few months to try to create more cash flow, so. So that we can create more time for ourselves in the future we've kind of been having.
So if you just notice just immediately in his language, it's Very much we and our. Or like, like our time. We have been doing things. If you haven't noticed, he's just one person. Right. So it's like, I would want to very, very quickly. Oh, we, Sorry, who are we talking about? Is there another decision maker that needs to be here? Is it like his partner, his wife? Like, who is. Who's we? Why is he talking about we?
An epiphany about trying to create more free time for ourselves and ourselves. It's, I mean, obviously, like having a 9 to 5 and doing your day to day is.
It's because here's the thing, because, like, let's say, for example, like free time for ourselves and it sounds like it's him and his partner. Okay. So I would need to know, like, okay, is he going to be working with his partner, like his wife or girlfriend or whatever, or is this something he's going to be doing, but she's also looking to have like the fruits of the labor. If it's something where it's just he's going to be doing it, I want to smack him out of like using we language and talk about what he wants and what he needs to do. So then I'm talking about singular. I don't want him to continue to talk about the we, because if I can, if we continue to just have him talk about we, then, you know what I'm saying? Like it, there's, there's a third party person that's in this conversation that's not there. So it allows him to separate himself from the conversation at hand.
It's hard to do that because you're, you're a slave to whoever you work for at a certain point.
Right?
That's, that's kind of what we're trying.
Slave. I would write that down or I would just like.
Probe on it to focus on right now. Is creating.
Okay.
A base for freedom more than anything.
I got you. So safe to say we're not an Airbnb yet.
No.
Okay, beautiful. So then for you, if you take a look back, like, we're looking for a little more time, a little more money, a little more freedom. That's hence the reason we're looking for Airbnb.
Yep.
Okay, perfect. So when we are talking about getting more money, getting that freedom, like what.
Are we doing right now for work right now?
Okay, so we did get some type of problem there. Like, like this wanting more freedom, things like that, maybe feeling like getting more time back. So I guess, like, what are you seeing in your job right now that Makes you feel like you'd want to look for ways to have more freedom and have more time. We could probably just expand on that or just expand on. Well, what do you mean? You're more like a slave. You get what I'm saying? So it's like you can just. You can flush out that problem just a little bit more up at the top, so that way you can have a better conversation moving forward. Forward.
I'm actually working at a golf course up in the Lake George area. I work in the maintenance department for them. I've had a lot of experience doing other stuff like construction and things, but I'm trying to develop new skills right now that I can help to accumulate capital outside of my 9 to 5 so that we have a little bit more freedom to travel, visit friends that are kind of locked up in their nine to fives and. And spend more time with family and.
Right.
I hear you. So over at the golf club, you're like the. You're like the cool guy over there that makes sure everything runs smooth.
We try to be, but, you know.
Nice, man. How long you been doing that for?
I've actually been in landscaping, private landscaping, for a couple years. I actually started with them over the summer, but I've just been getting into that. I mean, I like working outside as much as I can because, you know, just. You get out in the sun, you don't feel cooped up. Fresh air. I mean, it's. It's something that I've always valued, but it doesn't always produce the. The funds that.
Right.
And when you talk about landscaping, that's the same as the golf club.
Yeah. I worked for a private company that did residential land, so it's like.
It doesn't always produce, like, the funds, but. What do you mean it doesn't always produce the funds? Oh, I just don't get paid that well. Oh, right. So it's like you're able to just. We're kind of glossing over some of.
These things, Landscaping, like lawn mowing and stuff for a while, and I was helping him run his company, but it ended up not working out with him, and I started working for the golf course. And I've considered following down the path of professional golf course work, but it's. It's a long, hard path that doesn't always pan out for people and.
Right.
Can't be the most profitable.
Yeah. I like to have backup options that I can lean into and potentially other avenues that I can start to follow while I'm still working on my Career.
Okay, perfect. So as of right now, we were doing landscaping, but since summer, we've been working at the golf club in like the. The maintenance sector.
Yep, perfect.
I got that. So then with what we got going on there, like over at the golf country club, all that fun stuff, I mean, I guess what do you feel like might be, I don't know, like coming up for you over there that makes you feel like that the money you're making there just isn't enough to go out and have the freedom and actually up.
I feel like my big thing is I don't want to wait till I'm 45 to have the money and the time to be free. That's what.
To.
A short list. I mean, if I were to try to pursue professional golf course work, work, I have to go back to school for two years. I have to become qualified in handfuls of things. And even then I still have to find someone to give me a superintendent's job somewhere. And even then, that doesn't always happen. You usually have to have some kind of connection or some kind of know how or get lucky even. Yeah, you know, sometimes everybody doesn't always get lucky. And I prefer to have parts of my future in my control rather than the control of others more than anything.
Yeah, I hear you, man. And I mean, I used to, believe it or not, I used to caddy way back in the day. And there were. There were some guys that are okay with that, like, just wait until they were 45 to have the time, the money. So for you, why is that important to kind of like speed up that process?
I want to get the value out of life while I have the youth and can enjoy it. And then later in life, after I've had my. Had our.
No, something that keeps coming up is like, want again. If something we could probably nip in the butt right now, and it won't come on later in the conversation just to be aware of, like, how is he talking about this? He's also said like, oh, I'm trying to do things you don't try. You either do or you don't. Okay. I don't care about what you want. I care about what you need. Need. We can start to make these shifts to get. To just make this more real. But I think underlying is like, we still really didn't address the we. So there is some distance between him and, like, the goal or him and the problem, because it's a we thing.
Freedoms and done the traveling and the seeing the world that we want to do. Then we can settle in, focus on our careers as we start to get older, if we want, and be more homebound people.
Hold on. I hear you. And when you say get the value out of life, like, that can look like different things to different people. So what does that kind of look like for you? I know you mentioned a little traveling.
Yeah. For me and my girlfriend, it's. I mean, we. We've been kind of developing this motto.
Where, again, I want to know, like, okay, now we finally got that. Like, he's talking about his girl. Is his girl going to be looking and doing real estate investing? Is she doing her own things? How does she play into this picture?
We want to get value out of life with people that we care about. Like, we. We want to be able to go on trips with friends and family and go to events and stuff, rather than being tied up by our work schedule or this or that.
Interesting. I mean, that's like, you'd think it'd be a popular thing, but I speak to a lot of people on a daily basis, and that's not really, like, that popular.
Like, what do you mean? Tied up by your, you know, your work schedule. Like, let's just probe on this. Like, what's. Like, what?
Why.
Why do you feel like it's so important, man, to do that while you're young? Most people just wait until they're older.
So for you and your girlfriend, I.
Guess, where do you feel like that.
Drive comes from to want that freedom and to be able to travel?
But it's good because you're digging here. You're trying to understand his motives.
I don't know if it's. Well, we've been in a relationship for about three years. I feel like we're on the tail end.
But do you see how you're asking him the personal questions and he keeps on going to we. And because we just haven't addressed it, we're not getting as substantial answers as we could because he just keeps going back to, well, we've been dating for three years. Like, bro, I don't give a. About your relationship. Now, if she's going to be doing this with you, then maybe it'll be better if we all hopped on a call. And that way you can also bounce things back off of your. Each other. You can play them against, you know, play them against each other to really dig down deeper into the motions, something you can do. But if she's not actually going to be doing Airbnb or she's not going to be doing real estate, to be frank, I don't care how long you've been dating your girl.
End of a little bit of, you know, nesting process. Because we've been. We. We started dating about three and a half years ago. We're renting a house right now from a family member of mine, and we've been really focusing on just kind of like, piling up money and going to work, coming home, going to work, coming home, you know, feeding ourselves, paying our bills. And it's. It feels like it's just kind of like a. Right now we're going through the motions and going through the like. Yeah, I feel like that's what a lot of people do is just you. You live life to get your next paycheck so you can spend your next paycheck so you can afford your bills. I feel like that's more of what I'm concerned about. We want to have. Why are you concerned about the freedom? So that when our bills are personally. Why are you concerned about worrying about.
How much you personally, like, get him to start talking about him.
We have left and, you know, the general stressors of life that a lot of people have. We're trying to alleviate ourselves of a lot of the stuff that we feel like we can avoid in the future.
And you mentioned something interesting there, like, just going through the motions. Like, how long have you guys kind of been feeling that for?
And see, again, you're addressing it like, you guys now you're getting. You're just doubling down on him, talking about this we behavior.
We've been kind of feeling like we're going through the motions, just kind of doing the work that's comfortable for us probably for. I mean, it.
It.
It became more of a realization over the last couple of months, but I guess we've been kind of doing it for a little while. I mean, you.
When did you notice it? Start talking to him about himself, too. And then also ask, well, how do you feel like this affects her? So instead of them being this we monolith, like, they're one person. We can get. They're both like, how do you feel like this impacts her? Like, you guys going through the motion. And then you can ask, how does it impact your relationship? So you can get him. Her relationship. Right now you're just kind of getting relationship, which again, like, we're still getting good information as far as his motives and really, like, what the pain is, but we're not. We're not digging deep enough.
You do something that pays well and you get. You get comfortable, even though it's not necessarily something that you love, you know. Yeah, it's is that you're doing get stuck in.
I feel like a lot of people like this guy has not really talked about himself personally as far as his pain or his problems. Not really. Once it's been a we and it's been a lot of people. So do you feel like that's what you're going through? What makes you feel like you're going through that? And how does this actually show up for you personally? Just like going through the motions? And you said you came to the realization a couple months ago. What was that moment like that really clicked it for you that you just been going through the motions and how do you feel like this affects, you know, your girlfriend and what might be happening to your guys relationship? You both just doing that. So why is it so important for you to get out of the motions? Like you said, most people do that their entire lives. Why is important for you personally knowing that it's important having more freedom, having this, like you not having that. Like how does that feel? Right. Something along those lines.
Doing something that they're okay with that supplies them with the needs that they have and the ability to pay for the needs that they have. But a lot of people don't.
Yeah, because in a way it kind of sounds like you're looking to go from like good to great with your life.
Yes, yes, we're. We're looking to improve.
So he's not saying like, here's the thing as far as like the good to great frame. I'm really only going to put that on and feel like, oh yeah, things are going pretty good right now. They're like, they're not wanting to complain. Like he's complaining in a third party or like second party, like an us or a lot of people. That's how he's complaining or that's how he's talking about the problems. The good to great is, well, things are pretty good right now, but you know, I just think we could be better. Okay, so we're going from like good to great. Right. Then we can dig into being different things on those lines. But I don't know. And again, it's something we can put on him and I'm sure he's gonna buy into it, but I don't know if it's going to be the best use of that frame.
Quality of life more than anything. And with that we think it comes a little bit more financial stability, a little bit more financial freedom and a little bit less Time wasted on things that we don't care about.
Right.
And with that, because I love that saying, like, going from good to great. Like, it reminds me of that one saying, and I always forget who says it, but it's like, good is the enemy of great. Have you ever heard that?
Yep. Yeah.
And do you know why they kind of say that, though?
Because. Okay. And the reason why this probably isn't going to stick as well as it could is because we are putting this on him, number one. It doesn't mean it's not going to hit, but you already have really good leverage of him just going through the motions, and he's trying to alleviate the stresses of what most people go through. Now, we didn't really dig into. Well, what are those stresses for you? Like, what are those stresses for you personally, though? I can get a lot of people go through stresses, but what do you. What are you going through? What are you seeing? Get him to start talking about himself. And what did you actually notice? You. You're going through the motions. Like, what was that moment that, like, really made it click a couple months ago that, like, you're just kind of doing the same thing over and over again and you're just going through the motions. How else do you feel like this is showing up for, like, you personally? Right. Then we can really dig into it.
Yeah, no, that makes total sense to me. I mean, for me, it comes back to complacency. Is there's a difference between being okay with what you have and going after what you want.
Right.
Because, like, good. It's comfortable. Like you said, you got a roof over your head, bills are paid. But for us to get to that great status, we have the freedom where we aren't just going through the motions. Like, we have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Yep.
Journeying into the unknown, that's. That's one of the huge things my girlfriend and I have been talking about recently, too, is like, we're. We're both nervous to make a jump because obviously every jump comes with a certain amount of personal risk.
Right.
To your bank account, your time, what have you. But if. If you're. We've been trying to kind of instill into ourselves that if you're not willing to jump, nothing's ever going to happen. You know, like, if you can't just sit and wait for something to show up, you got to go out and find it, you know?
Yeah. You got to be able to take action and grab life by the. By the balls to actually move forward.
Yeah. We're actually taking that from top to bottom right now. I mean we're both trying to be more fit. We're trying to spend more time out of the house instead of coming home and having dinner and just sitting here with each other. We're to trying, trying to engage with the people around us more and engage with the possibilities that the world don't.
Like this trying language old in front.
Of us has and it's, it's making a bit of a mindset change for us.
Yeah, it's going to take a little bit of time, but when you think back to that, like we earlier were talking about going through the motions and it kind of sparked an interesting thing in my mind. Like if you.
Okay, so. And it's good. He, he, he bought into or he's telling you some frames that are very useful and we can always use these against him. Okay. And what I mean by that, again, like let's use his words like journeying out into the unknown. It's like, hey man, and I can appreciate you journeying out into the unknown, that's pretty tough. Can I tell you what really, I don't know, just really causes people to have enough motivation to get there? They need to understand that their current situation is so painful, they jump. So maybe so we can sit down and really map this out so we can understand about our current situation and then go into your next question or we can go into our current situation and you really need to be able to catastrophize it and really feel that pain of not having X, Y and Z so you can actually get to that next level and go into the unknown. So if we really sit and we talk about what we're going through right now and be real with me and be open because it's completely normal. Question.
Do you think to our parents generation, like those people above us, they're okay with that? Like a lot of people are like, I'm fine with just going through life, going through the motions. So for you, do you see that as a good thing or a bad thing? Just kind of going through the motions?
I think it really depends on the person because some people, ah, dude, he asked you so.
And again. And, and because we haven't addressed it, he's getting more and more comfortable in this behavior of not really talking about himself. Like he is talking like, like he's a social commentator. Yeah, some people do this, some people do that. No, like no, bro, we're talking about.
You see creature, you know, and sometimes those regular creature comforts that paying your Bills and being able to just come home at night and feed yourself and sit down and watch TV and go to bed and do it all over again is enough for a lot of people. And yeah, personally, I understand why it is enough for people, because, I mean, comfort. Comfort is its own. Is its own kind of joy in a way. But I guess we're trying to really look for better forms of comfort outside of our home. And we.
Yeah, And I apologize, I must not have worded that best. So do you, you personally, like, through your, through your lens, do you see that as a good or a bad thing? Going through the motions? Like, you have been. Why is it a bad thing you want to explore?
And I, I specifically don't want to get old feeling like I didn't experience things because of time restrictions or money restrictions.
Yes.
So you see it more of, like, a bad thing.
Okay. So I would just ask again, and if we don't reformulate the question to get it out of him, then I would just ask, like, why don't you want to be old to do that? Because most people, when they do that, they are old. Like, it seems like a lot of what is driving him is the feeling of wanting the freedom now rather than when he's old. Right. Like not being stuck in the. In the hamster wheel, just going through the motions type of thing. Things.
For me personally, yes.
Why is that?
Yeah, I mean, if.
Why is.
If anything, like, knowing that we're kind of just going through the motions right now?
So just expand it, man. So this is the first time, like you said, for me personally, yes. And you see there's a little bit of resistance.
For me personally, yes.
So it's like, okay, now we finally got him to talk about him personally. Just get onto the expense. Like, now let's start to get him more comfortable talking about him personally. Now we're 12 minutes in, and this is like the first time he's really talking about him personally. So we need to address this sooner. But now that we got here, we just need to stay here. Like, why. Why do you see this as a bad thing? And how is this going through the motions? Like, how do you feel like this is actually impacting, like, your day to day, like, for you, personal, personally? I know you said a couple months ago, you. You started to actually become aware. What was that moment like? Like, what really clicked for you that made you become aware of it? And how did you feel when you did become aware? Right. So we can really start to peel back these layers.
Yeah.
Okay. Yeah. And I mean, if, if anything, like, knowing that we're kind of just going through the motions right now, we've kind of been comfortable for a little bit. I mean, like, how does that impact our day to day?
I mean, I'd probably have to think about that for a little while because, I mean, we're. We're just now starting to. And is back the way re explore different options other than what we know is right in front of us. Because I feel like both of us have really gotten comfortable with things that we know, and I feel like that's what a lot of people's problems are. They.
Yeah.
They find something that they're capable of and then they just focus on getting better at that. And I don't, I don't want to find myself halfway through life realizing that I was doing something that I didn't enjoy just because it worked.
Yeah.
Because if we just stay going through the motions.
Okay, so again, he's going back to the we and then other people. So it just like re. Ask the question. Yeah. And I can get that. You know, other people might be going through things, but like, for you personally, how is this you just going through the motions actually impacting your day to day? Re. Ask it got. Get him to talk about himself personally.
Like, what would that lead to in our future?
For me, not a whole lot. Yeah, I mean, I mean, yes, obviously, like having a family life and being at home when we get older is going to be more important, but.
I.
Mean, for us, we want to, we want to take advantage of every opportunity that. Yeah.
That presents.
And I'm sure you're not sitting there at the golf club thinking about this at 24 7, but like, yeah. Is there a specific time during like the day or something that you're like, wow, I actually feel like I am just going through the motions.
It's more of when I feel like I'm not using my time effectively for myself.
Give me an example. Good.
I'm more of the kind of person that feels like when I'm. I lose sight of doing things that you enjoy sometimes because everybody needs to have hobbies and relax. But sometimes when I feel like I'm sitting back to relax and detoxing from a day, or if I don't work for a couple of days because the golf course is closed or because it's not snowing in the winter when we are closed and I'm on call for plowing, it's more of the downtime that I have. I feel like I could be using my downtime for something better.
Yeah.
You know, to create cash flow or to be.
And besides, you just feeling like, you know, you could be using the time better. When you, when you are sitting there and you're just, you know, just times going by, you're not really doing anything, going through the motions, what actually comes up internally? Like what do you, what do you actually feel?
Building something or get a layer deeper or creating some, something that somebody might have some kind of interest in. I, I almost feel like sitting too much and.
Yeah.
Just kind of enjoying the little luxuries of life that a lot of people have. Sometimes I feel like they're a waste of my own time.
In what way?
I'm not sure. It's like when I'm. Like when my girlfriend and I come home and we sit, we sit down to watch TV after we eat dinner. Sometimes I feel like that, that, that two to three hour period could be used for something that's a little bit more proactive.
Yeah.
Rather than even just going to the gym. I mean, going to the gym is obviously good for everybody. I mean, fitness makes everybody feel better. And your brain starts with your body.
But we're getting lost in the weeds.
I wanna, I wanna have something to do with myself, I guess when I'm not doing my nine to five, you know, I wanna have purpose outside of work and goals to achieve that.
Like the one, the one, the one. I would address it at this point at least beast we need to address it. It's 16 minutes and I probably would address it a lot earlier. It's like, hey man. Yeah, and I want to be at the beach right now. So let's not focus on what we want. Like, let's focus on what we need. Like, do you need to have a purpose outside of work? Or it's like, can I share a perspective? The, the biggest thing that I really try to help people understand is just like the way that you talk, talk to someone else is the way you talk to yourself. And understanding the way you talk to yourself and understand your language makes a big difference. Do you know the difference between a need and a want? A want is if it's convenient, then I will do it. It need is I'll do whatever it takes. Do you see the difference between the two? So are you willing to actually shift your language from you want a purpose outside of work and you, you want to achieve goals outside of work? Do you need to. Why would you be willing to change that want into a need? So knowing that we actually need to do that and then we can move.
On outside of work. And I feel like right now that's what we're trying to get back into a lot.
I hear you, man. And like, brother, because I don't want to assume because, like, I'm not in your shoes, I'm mine over here. But knowing right now we're just going through the motions, clocking in, clocking out, and like, the time we do come home and we do have downtime, feel like we're just wasting it a little.
It's not.
And because again, since he's. We've allowed him to externalize a lot of these things, saying a lot of people, we. And it's not been really talking about him personally. It. These questions just aren't going to hit as hard. So just know why they haven't is just because we've allowed him to, you know, use some wishful language, you know, like. Like we're trying to do things and I. And I want this stuff. Okay. I don't give a fuck what you want, bro. And then like, oh, we, we, we. You know, some people, something I've enjoyed.
I feel like it's something that I've spent a lot of time ignoring for a long time.
Yeah.
But, oh, I mean, oh, it's something that I've.
Oh, hopefully you picked up on that. Let's see.
Definitely thought about more over the last few months and that moving forward, if I make some changes and try to engage myself in some things that I'm not typically used to engaging in and learning new skills and potentially reaching out into the real estate market and trying to test my hand at that, I feel like it's something that I could genuinely start to care about in the future.
But I guess, like, how much longer do you want to just keep doing the same thing over and over again.
For not much longer.
Yeah.
I mean, why? Cuz like, some people are okay with just doing that.
We fucking missed it, dude. Okay. We asked a question, he externalized it, didn't really answer it, talked about what he wanted. But if you notice there, he said he's been ignoring the feedback feeling. Dude, crush this, dude. So what you're going to do is like, hey, man, that's. That's pretty interesting. You said you've been ignoring the feeling or you've been ignoring, you know, you know, doing the things or doing the feeling of doing more. Like, why do you feel like you've been ignoring that, man? Like, where do you feel like that? You know, just that, that you. Ignoring that. Where do you feel like that's coming from. Can I share perspective on that? Because why do people change the pain or the fear of future pain? And do you notice, like, I asked you, like, hey, how it felt for you to do this and you didn't really tell me? So do you feel like that may be part of the problem? That we're not diving into how it actually feels and we're more ignoring these feelings? Because again, if you, like, you can use super bowl analogy. Because if you know, if you're in the super bowl and your teammate doesn't care whether they win or whether they lose, they more ignore their feelings. Do you want that guy as your teammate? Why don't you? So be real with me, man. Because the only way that we're going to be able to break this pattern of ignoring our feelings is we got to be real with ourselves. So you running into A, B And C, doing 1, 2 and 3, like, how does that feel, dude? Right. So it's like. And it's just. And if we, if we just corrected his language, just slowly but surely and dug deeper, maybe we don't run into this, but maybe we do. But if I hear that they've been ignoring their feelings and then when I ask, like after I asked them how, how it does make them feel, like, oh, well, that, like, let's, let's listen back to what he just said.
It's not something I've enjoyed. I feel like it's something that I've spent a lot of time ignoring for a long time.
Yeah.
But I mean, it's something that I've, I've definitely thought about more over the last few months and that moving forward, if I make some changes and try to engage myself in some.
So you asked him how it felt, him going through the motions. He's like, well, it's not something that I've enjoyed, something I spent a lot of time ignoring. And then he just doesn't really dive deep into it and then just talks about like, hey, you know, potentially reaching out to the real estate market. Very wishy washy language here. You get what I'm saying? So, like, here's the thing, bro. If you don't like have a real conversation with this dude right now, nothing you do for the rest of the call is going to really matter because he is entrenching, just wishy washy language, wishful thinking language. He's wanting, you know, potentially do this. You know, we're trying to do this. And he's not really talking about the actual pain that he is in. And he is going through and he's told you that he ignores this stuff, so we need to get him to stop ignoring it. And it really addressed. The reason that he's ignoring it is because it's painful. If you just want to, like, put yourself in this guy's shoes, okay. The reason he doesn't want to think about it, he doesn't want to talk about. He doesn't want to feel these emotions because it's so painful that as a defense mechanism, he ignores it. That's really what's happening. So if I allow him to continue to ignore it, then why would this guy move? Like, just understand people are patterns. His pattern is ignore when things are painful, call it out, shift his pattern, bring attention to it. Because if I don't bring attention to it, guess what's going to happen at the end of the call? We're not going to be able to actually get through. Tim. Okay.
Things that I'm not typically used to engaging in and learning new skills and.
I guess, like, how much longer do you want to just keep doing the same thing over and over again for not much longer.
Yeah.
I mean, why? Because, like, some people are okay with just doing that. So why don't you want to just continue to be the guy that stays comfortable and just goes through the motions of life?
It doesn't feel like it's. For me more than anything. I don't know. I just don't think I'm built for it. I think I'm built for change over small periods of time. I feel like I'm built for experiencing different things rather than experiencing the same thing over and over and over and being okay with it.
Yeah. And how long have you felt that way, man? That you're. You're just. You're built for more. So it's like. And truly, truly believing that you're built for more, but for the past three years, just going through the motions. Bring it right back, dude. Like, crush this guy. So it's like, here, here's what it is like in his head, he's built for more. That is his identity that we need to get him to anchor. This gets him his goals. But right now, he's the complacent guy who ignores his feelings and goes through the fucking motion. He's not the guy right now who's built for more. He's not. He's not acting that way. His actions show you otherwise. So if I don't point this out to him again, I'm a mirror and I'm going to do it through my questions, if I. I don't point this out to him, there's not going to be enough internal tension for him to actually get to move.
I got you, man. Yeah. And I will say that's a lot of people that do get on these calls that come in from Adam and Vince. Like, they're in that same, like. I don't say, like, transition phase two, but they're looking to change as well. Yeah, they're looking to go from, like.
Good to, like, how long have you felt like you're built for more? Has this been something that's like you just always felt. So, I mean, I do have to ask then if we've always felt this way or if we felt this way for the past three years or whatever it is, but we. We've been wasting that potential, wasting that feeling like. Like, what comes up for you internally when you know you're built for more, but you just haven't actually proven to yourself that you've done it or proven to yourself that, you know you are doing more or. That's what I'm thinking. Okay. So it's like. Because you can. You can really, like, bounce it off of himself, you know, how he's showing up now or. Because he keeps on talking about other people. So I assume, like, one of the big drivers for him is he doesn't want to be like other people. Okay. It could be coming from, like, small town, maybe it's family, all these different things, whatever. So it's like, I guess, like, how does it feel knowing that you're built for more, but you're just going through the motions? Just like everyone else who never gets more, that's what's gonna crush him. That's where we need to get him to. If we can get that, then that's. That guy buys. Get to the consequence of what happens, man, if we have all this potential, we continue to go through the motions. We continue to tell ourselves we're going to keep on trying to do things, but we never actually get to our full potential, and we're just like everyone else. Like, what happens, bro? Get there.
Be great as well. Looking to go from that nine to five employee to that own business owner. And like, when they get in the community, like Adam, he always has a saying for them. It's like, you guys go from taking orders to take an action, right?
Yep.
Yep. That's good. That's kind of exactly what we're trying to do. I don't. I don't. I don't want to be told What I should be doing with my time. I want to be using my time for me.
So obviously, we've been doing the. The country club for a little bit. Like, we've known for a while that with what we're doing, it's just not going to lead to where we want to be in the end. So what other, like, professionals or mentors did you really reach out to about getting, like, that outside help with, like, becoming that action taker?
I haven't. I honestly, it didn't really take. Take much reaching out to other people for me. I feel like it just took me getting to a point of.
I feel.
I feel like it was almost like an epiphany, you know, I almost. I woke up one day and I felt like a different person a little bit. I felt like I was letting my life pass me by just a little bit and that I felt like I needed to take action and grab hold of something that I could chase. And I ended up looking. I. I ended up stumbling across some Adam and Vince's page while I was looking into real estate investing. And obviously real estate investing is a much larger operation.
You're right.
Yeah, it's, it's. It required.
As far as, like, formulating that question, man, I would still, I would want to get some type of numbers before going into it. So it's like, okay, I know we're looking for that level of freedom, dude. So let's just say three to six months from now, like, how much would you need to be making. Need to be making and Airbnb to be able to give you that level of freedom you're actually looking for? And how much are you currently making now? So before we started talking today, what have you been doing about actually getting the right skills so you could be making this, or what have you been doing on that front? And then. But let's see where it.
Where you take a lot more capital and there's a lot. There's a lot more liability in it.
Yeah. So how long ago did you wake up with this realization? And what, what, what was there a specific trigger I would want to understand? Like, hey, man, what, like, what shifted? And if it's any type of time frame, like, let's say three, four, five, six months, whatever the fuck it is, it's like, hey, man. Well, we've had this realization that we know needed to do something for the past three months. What's prevented us from doing anything, and we need to attack his inaction.
I, I more wanted to find something that wasn't going to be a sink or swim thing right away.
Right. It's something you could like kind of ease into and see if it works.
Yeah. Rather than, rather than signing myself onto a 30 year mortgage and then just, you know, see, seeing what happens.
Right.
You did mention earlier a little bit that you were, you've noticed this for a while. Like you've been out there looking or at least trying to.
Yeah, a couple of months now. Yeah.
Yeah.
So what kind of prevented you from going out there and getting help? Like a couple months ago?
I feel like I was trying to find what I wanted. You know, I almost, almost like how I was telling you a couple of minutes to go. I feel like a lot of people wait for things to show up for them. I feel like what I was doing was almost waiting for the right opportunity to present itself. And then I realized over a couple of weeks, maybe a month of thinking about it, that no one was going to show me what I wanted. I had to go find it.
Yeah, right. Because like those people that do wait.
So then over those two months, like after we came to that realizations, like, what stopped us from actually going out and getting that help? You get what I'm saying? He's still like, he's talking like. And it's very tricky because if we're not playing, paying close attention, it sounds like he's eliminating all these objections, but he's not. He's really not. He's like, okay, so like for three months I got to this realization, okay, but he's been going through the motions for at least again, I would want to understand more, but I think he's like three years or that's as long as he was in the relationship. I don't know. Okay, but he's been going through the motions for three years, like, and he had to wait to have an epiphany about, oh, he needed to change things. And that was three months ago. And then he needed to wait for the opportunity to smack him in the face. But then he realized like after a month, okay, that's not going to happen. So then, now we, there's two months of knowing that the opportunity is not going to smack us in the face. But why are we still waiting? And now we notice a pattern of him waiting, waiting for three years and waiting for a month. And then now he's waited a couple more months. You get what I'm saying? So it's something like we just need to attack. And it's like, okay, but it's like after the couple weeks of you Realizing, hey, this opportunity is not just going to smack you in the face. What's preventing you from going out and actually getting help? Like, finding something to get help with. Right? Like, can I share a perspective? Because, again, we were going through emotions for three years. Why do you think it took you three years before you had the epiphany that you needed do something different? And then when we realize we need to do something different, why do you feel like it took you three months to then decide what avenue you needed to go? Okay, and we can really start to attack this. Where do you feel like this. This comes from? This constant need to. To wait and, you know, know, just hope the opportunities just kind of smack you in the face. Like, what do you feel like this has actually cost us? Like, being in pain, but just waning and hoping the answers just come to us. But do you feel like that. That way of thinking of just, like, waning for the perfect opportunity for all. Everything to align, do you feel like that's worth keeping moving forward?
Word.
Why don't you feel like it is.
For things to just magically fall in their lap?
It never happens. Or you end up 45 with a job that you don't like, and. Yeah, a town that you don't like.
You know, we don't have the time, freedom, we don't have the money to actually do the things we want to do.
Yeah.
And so again, it's you. It's you. It's external. We need to start talking about him.
At a certain point in. I mean, I'm a firm believer in the fact that it's never too late to make a change. Like, yeah, you. You can be 50 and make a change in the way you're managing your money, you're managing your time, you're managing your life. But for me, I feel like the sooner I do it, the better off I'm gonna be, because then I will have more time with that mindset and more. More availability to do things with it before I start to get too old, you know?
Exactly. Because there's that saying, it's like, the best time to plan.
Okay, yeah.
Tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is today.
Yep.
Yep.
Yeah.
So. And I mean, can you see how, like, being that.
So then what's. If we understand we need to do things as soon as possible, what. What's still preventing these past couple months, like, now knowing that we need to go out and find the opportunity of actually taking action and getting the real help we need. So it's like, okay, we Got that? He needs to do things as soon as possible. Why hasn't he, like, why didn't we talk two months ago, bro? Why don't we talk three months ago? Why don't we talk three years ago?
Guy that was comfortable and, like, waiting for things to happen for him has kind of kept you at where you're at. Like, are you okay with me saying that?
Oh, absolutely. I mean, I, I know. I, I. Everyone is their own catalyst for change. And, you know, I feel I've been the one holding myself back just like everybody else does. I mean, you're, you're your own roadblock 99% of the time.
So what do you want to, like, what do you feel like has really been holding you back then? Like, if you really had to think about it, what do you think are the biggest things holding you back?
Start becoming that business owner, the guy that does take action. Like, what traits do you kind of have to let die off so that you can become that person?
I guess specifically my. I have struggled in the past with time management. I'm definitely getting a lot better in recent years. But I feel like my main thing is I need to let go of the fear of the unknown more than anything because I feel like that's what's kept me from making big jumps that I feel like I could succeed in is, yeah, the thought of, yeah, I could make this jump and I could do this, that try this out, but I don't, I don't want to do things and then have them backfire in my face. But that, that's right.
Like actually becoming that action taker, it's.
It'S part of change. And I, I've been trying to realize that in order to succeed, a lot of the times you have to either fail or try something that you don't.
Yeah.
Thinking right after a certain period of.
Time and, well, I've been trying to realize that. What do you realize that. Because this fear of the unknown and not really going after what we feel like, you know, not really going after fulfilling our full potential over the past three years, like, what do you feel like this has actually cost you? Well, I'm not sure. Well, if you really think about it, man, if we can even put a number to it, like, what do you feel like this cost you, dude? So is that worth keeping, moving forward? Well, why not? And the reason why I ask is because, yes, we need the right skills to build that freedom we're looking for. But the big thing is that nobody tells you is you need to be Able to be a better person. Because if you're that person, and this is why I like to have a good number, you're that person who's making 20,000 per month. Like, you have that freedom. You do the things you want. Like, dude, like I'm telling you right now, you walk different. You have a different level of confidence about you. You get what I mean? But right now, who we are and who we have been is that person who holds on to that fear of the unknown, and we're going through the motions, not fulfilling our potential. Is that right? So I do have to ask, are you okay continuing to be that guy? Because if you are, I'm the first one to. You tell. Tell you, man, Keep doing what you're doing. Keep going down the same path. Well, why not? But the tough question we really have to ask ourselves is if you continue to be the guy who holds on to that fear and never fully reaches your potential for the rest of your life, how would that feel? In what way? It's.
It's a trial and error thing. Sometimes times.
Right. Because, like, what happens, though, if we. If we don't start adapting, time management, becoming that action taker, you just kind of.
You just keep moving through life, you know?
Yeah. Like, for you personally, what happened?
Are you willing to settle for that?
Nope.
Yeah. Because, like, not anymore.
Yeah. Because Vince preaches it all the time. Like, Adam, too, like. Well, yes. Getting into Airbnb, becoming that business owner, it is about skills, but it's also about being like. Like a better person. Because, like, if you are that guy that wakes up, can travel, has the freedom, you walk that, like, in a way, you hold yourself to a different standard.
Yep.
But right now, where the guy who's kind of just going through life.
Yeah. I'm a little bit below that line. Yeah. And I'm just trying to. I'm trying to up my personal skills and my external skills so that I can kind of feed that.
Yeah. And I do have to ask, are you okay with just staying that person? Because if you are, dude, I'll be the first person tell you. Just keep doing with what you're doing.
Personally, no. I mean, everybody has to have stagnant periods in their life, and I understand that. But. Yeah, I prefer to be the kind of person that even if I am sitting still in life for short periods of time, that I have a sense of moving forward and I have some kind of goal.
Yeah.
But the tough question I have to ask you is if we stay, that person who stays comfortable, keeps going through the motions of life. Like, how would that actually feel when we get to that 45 age?
I don't think I'd be too happy with myself, to be honest. I mean, that's kind of why I wanted to jump the gun on reaching out to Adam and Vince, too, because I. I feel like I would have a lot of regrets if I turned 50 and didn't try to do the things that I thought I could have tried when I was in my 20s and I'm 24. I actually just turned 25 a couple of days ago. I keep forgetting.
Latest. Happy birthday, brother.
Thank you. But, yeah, I feel like I. When I. When I left school, I had a dream of.
So here. Here is some of the problem. Like, I get why you said 45 and we can get that. I would take it another step, though. Like, I want to be happy. Well, why. Why wouldn't you be happy? But if you wake up tomorrow knowing that you're not fulfilling your potential, dude, like, how is that going to feel? If you wake up tomorrow and you look in the mirror and you understand you're not actually fulfilling your potential, you're wasting it. Like, how is that going to feel? So time to make a change then, possibly, man. You know what I'm saying? Like, do you. You take it to the now, dude. If you. If tomorrow you're sitting down, you have that free time, you're wasting your potential and you continue to go through the motions. How is that gonna feel, dude, tomorrow's gonna suck. So guess what? You better buy today. That's not what you say, but you get what I mean. We got to bring that emotion to the now.
Getting myself together and getting some money together and attacking something. And I feel like over the last five years, since I turned 20, I feel like I've become accidentally a little bit complacent because when you're 18, 19 years old, you're fresh out of school, you don't have any of your own cash. What you. You're interested is putting cash in your wallet. Obviously, everything. Yeah.
You're interested about, like, everything coming in.
Yeah.
But for you, if we want to actually become that action taker at airpreneur here, we want to make sure it's a win win on both sides. So for you, what type of help do you feel like you'd actually need from us? Suppose it was you, me, Adam, Vince. We sat down, you're like, hey, I need X, Y and Z again.
I think we moved on too early from that. So again, he's five Years of him going through the motions, not fulfilling his potential. So like, what happens if like tomorrow is five years in one day? Like, how would it feel if we, for the past five years or 25, and for the rest of your life, you continue to be the guy who doesn't fulfill his potential and just like really let him sit with that because that's really where it's at. It's. If he just, he's a guy who never fulfills his potential, is he okay with that? How would that feel if he was like that?
So in three months I can guarantee buy my first property.
I feel like for me it would be specifically developing skills and identifying key markets.
Okay.
More than anything, because I, I know that certain areas have better results as far as airbnb due to population swings and, you know, events and. Yeah, areas where water sports are common. I mean, I was telling Adam that I live in an area where skiing is very common. Yeah, yeah. But the problem over the last few years is that we don't get a lot of shit snow right now over the last few years. So I mean, I feel like more of what I would want as far as knowledge from you guys would be knowing how to target certain areas based on risk factors and knowing when people are going to be there. Because I, I, I understood where their basis of your guys basis of operation is and how you guys do it. I feel like more of where my confusion was was how you guys target those areas that you have the arbitration.
And how do we capitalize on that?
Okay, so here, here's a couple things, man. He is feigning one thing you have to be careful of. He is feigning expertise. He just listened to what he just said. So this is going to be a red flag. Okay.
You know, events and yeah, areas water sports are common. I mean, I was telling Adam that I live in an area where skiing is very common. Yeah, yeah. But the problem over the last few years is that we don't get a lot of snow right now over the last few years. So I mean, I feel like more of what I would want as far as knowledge from you guys would be knowing how to target certain areas based on risk factors and knowing when people are going to be there. Because I, I, I understood where their basis of your guys basis of operation is.
And like, I understand like how you guys operate. Like, I just really need help where my confusion is how did you target those areas? So basically you're gonna try to sell this guy 5k for list of like cities. Like he's not gonna buy you what I mean, so it's like. And again it depends and I'm just thinking of what's going to, again I don't, I don't know the program so I'm just thinking of what are some areas he's gonna have no knowledge on that I can take him off the deep end just a little bit and maybe you could say, well, I mean if I just gave you like you know, a piece of PDF of you know, kind of like the best cities to do it, you think that you'd be good to go or you actually think you need some, you know, hands on help, more custom ability to like what you're looking to do specifically. And do you know exactly how to actually, you know, market the listing and how to get the best pictures and what those should actually look like or do you feel like you need help with those two? Why do you feel like you need help with those two? Now again, it depends on what you're selling. But he's feigning some expertise so I want to take him off the deep end where he has no knowledge. Okay. Or I know he doesn't know. Okay. It's like the Dunning Kruger effect. He's watched a couple YouTube videos, he doesn't really have the expertise. So you just take him off the deep end a little bit. Well, do you know how to do this, this and this or do you feel like you might need help with that too? Why do you feel like you need help with that? So that way again we want to poke a little bit of holes in his knowledge of what you guys do.
Because again and how you guys do it. I feel like more of where my confusion was was how you guys target those areas that you have the arbitration.
And how do we capitalize on that.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
So my analysis. And then would you be also looking to like maybe how to fund these properties a little bit as well? Something along those lines.
I come from a relatively financial savvy family so I mean as far as.
See what I mean?
Gaining funds and potentially getting a like a 0% cash, cash credit loan. I don't feel like I am under educated in that sense because I mean as far as financials and stuff, I'm, I'm more than capable of putting things together for myself and making moves and in rows as far as that is concerned. Yeah, but it's, it's more of the, the real estate side of things is, you know, key demographics of people to target and you know, the, the.
The.
Actual engaging with Renters and stuff like that?
And would you be looking for, like, a little bit of, like, support and accountability as well, like, when going through this process at all?
What do you mean by that?
Yeah, I mean, could we throw this all on, like a generic PDF and hand it over to you, or would you want somebody you could, like, check in with, make sure that, hey, I'm actually doing the work and if I have any questions, I can get them answered?
I guess.
So now some of this is just gonna be how you worded that. Okay. So it's like, okay, so do you feel like, you know, if we just sent you over, like a PDF, you'd be good to go go, or do you feel like actually working with somebody so it's more customized to your specific situation would be better? Because, like, with that, again, he's going to this guy, again, just from, like, the way he talks, the way he's always externalizing. He, he. He's feigning expertise that he just probably doesn't have. Have, but he doesn't want to feel not smart. So again, he feels like he already knows more than probably what he already does. So get. Take him off the deep end, see if he would need help with those.
Things either or would probably be fine with me because if I did have a generalized PDF, I could kind of put things together for myself moving forward from there. But I mean, obviously having an outlet to reach out to if, If I were on the fence about making a certain type of decision, I guess having an outlet that I could contact to give me an opinion on it would, Would definitely help.
Oh, okay. And why is, like, having that outlet, like, important to you?
Okay, so it's like, again, I would, I would more use it to. It's like, well, do you need someone to ask questions to? Do you need support to make sure you're doing what you're doing? No, no, no. Do you want to work with someone to make a cut, Customize plans for you for your specific areas for you're specifically doing? Customize plan. Work with somebody to really help you get more like a customized plan for what you're specifically doing. It's customizable. It's not just some person who answers questions. You get what I'm saying? You see how that's a lot more valuable just how, how you're framing it.
I firmly believe in surrounding yourself with people that are better than you because it gives you something to strive for all the time.
Right?
That's, that's. That's where having an outlet or someone that's more experienced than me or has more time in it than I do would become valuable to me, I think, is being able to bounce ideas off somebody that has either done the same thing and failed or almost done the same thing and found something different that created something success.
Right.
And it, it comes back to my fear of the unknown, you know, that I'm trying to let go of is.
And I will sh. Yeah. And with that support, it's like, there's also that accountability piece. So, like, I do have to ask trying, are you actually open to being held accountable?
And again, so as far as, like, this open to be held accountable.
If.
They don't say accountability, I typically won't bring it up in a discovery. I will bring it up. Like, let's say your last pillar could be like, accountability. And you can get that into the accountability in there. Like, hey, you're actually open to being held accountable. Again, this small difference, I feel like it'll fit better because, like, if they don't bring up accountability, we continue to bring up accountability in the discovery. It can just make it a little bit cheaper, chunkier that we don't need, or it can just, you know, break a little bit. Like now, now you're bringing up things and you're not really digging into their needs or wants. We want to make the discovery a little bit more about them. So just a little thing. Again, it's probably not going to kill the conversation at all, but probably better in, in the actual, like, presentation. But he's on, like, try, try. I'm trying to let go of this fear at the end, though. Okay, now this has kept coming up. I know I mentioned it before, but it's just like, it's something we can address. Well, can I share a perspective on you trying to, like, your go of the fear of the unknown? How long do you feel like it actually takes for you to get rid of a fear? Oh, I don't know. You know, it could take years. What if I told you it was instantaneously? Because Tony Robbins, he told me, talks about this all the time. Is it's instantaneous to change or get rid of an emotion or get rid of a fear, to do a different type of action. Everything else is just leading up to that instantaneous decision. You get what I mean? And he talks about there is no try or try not. There is just do or do not. So are you willing to actually let go of that fear? And yet, like, again, because you probably don't have the credibility when it comes to, like, psychological Stuff. The person I always lean on is like, Tony Robbins. Okay. Like, he says this stuff. Well, he does say that stuff, number one. But number two, it lends more credibility to you. And as somebody who is here to help them, especially if you're talking about, like, more psychological stuff, again, you run like an Airbnb offer, so you probably don't have, like, you don't have the expertise or the authority to talk about, like, psychological stuff. If you're selling something that's a little bit more psychological, if you're selling them, for instance, sales training. Right. You can, you can just more take that authority yourself. But if not, use somebody like Tony Robbins.
For the own. The things that I do for my own business. Because, I mean, any money that I invent, I mean, it's. Any money that I invest into something is, Is mine. You know, it's, it's, it's something that I'm taking on, and it's something that I've accepted as my responsibility. And I, I firmly believe that if you're gonna make a jump, it needs to be on your own terms, and it needs to be a decision that you made rather than a decision that somebody else for you.
Right.
And that's why I'm like, as long as you have that accountability piece, because like I will say, as coaches, it's not our job to tell you what you want to hear, but more so tell you what you need to hear.
What you need. Yeah, you, you need to be able to. And yeah, me as.
Yeah.
Someone that's seeking advice. Yeah, I need to. I definitely need to be able to receive critical advice rather than someone holding my hand, obviously, because I feel like a lot of people do expect coaches and people that offer programs to hold their hand and basically, like, lead them.
The way without putting any work. And we want to make sure.
Let me make your money for you. And.
Right.
You'll be fine.
And that's just the false expectation, because I'll say right now, like, we don't sell overnight pills and we don't sell get rich quick schemes. Like, what we do does require work, but as long as you're actually being held open, being held accountable to that work, that's how we can make sure you succeed.
Yep. So.
So at the end of the day, I know we're. This is trying to be a win win partnership, but if someone's coming in with a 400 credit score and $100,000 in credit card debt, we can't really help them. So we, yes, we do want to make sure that we are in the best financial spot possible, at least guarantee that we can help you. So as of right now, I know you put it on your credit card, on your application here, but you know what your credit score is.
The thing about my credit personally right now, it's not that it is damaged, it's unused.
Okay.
I have been spending a lot of time operating off my income. I haven't really needed to take out any credit for any reason.
Now, I don't know, let's see where you take it. Like, I, I, I, like, as far as this qualification right here, it seems like it kind of just breaks up the conversation a bit. So we can either do this fairly early on, maybe like, you know, after we dig out some problems. If you really do need this qualification, or if it's on the setting, if it's on the application, just like, confirm it at the beginning, the beginning of the call. If you really need them to actually, like, say it or something like that. I don't know. Yeah, like that. It feels like it breaks up the.
Conversation a bit so far. And that's kind of where what I was saying to Adam is that I, I do think if I approach my credit correctly, I do think I can get my credit score to go up rapidly.
Yeah.
And just for like, a ballpark number, do you know where it's at right now?
I know that the average unused credit score is somewhere around 600. So that's what I would guess mine is at right now. I haven't checked in a couple of years. I did check a couple years ago, but once again, I've never done anything with my credit score. So it's just kind of FICA being like, okay, so you're someone that uses cash.
You don't matter as long as it's not like 400 or 500. And then as far as, like, liquid cash, like, if you were to go out there to actually furnish your first Airbnb, how much liquid capital do you.
Actually have set aside liquid capital right now? I don't have enough in my bank account, personally. I did tell Adam that, that if I were to attack this, it would probably be closer to mid summer.
Okay, no worries.
I definitely have to build up a little bit of liquid cash before I decide to make that investment. Because at, at this moment, I'd be running myself a little too thin or a little thinner than I'd be comfortable with trying to make that investment jump.
Okay, so just get a real number and then probably attack the comfortability right now.
But it's definitely something I can prepare for in the future.
Yeah. And I guess just as of right now, just to put on your application, I guess. How much liquid capital did we have, like, set aside.
Right now? Unfortunately, I'm not really comfortable sharing my exact figure with you, if you don't mind.
No worries, brother. Just when we are talking about getting you, like, in a proper place. Place. Because we've had some people that come in with around the 6 to 640 credit score, it's only about 5 to 7 grand to their name, and they've been able to actually go out there and get their first property.
Okay.
So I'm. It's. So what you're saying is it's about balance?
Yeah.
More than anything is as long as you have a credit score to lean on, any dollar value is a possibility as long as you have something to jump on. Right.
And that way just we can put down saying, hey, because if you're coming in, gotta be full transparent. If you're coming in with like, hey, man, I got 500 bucks and I got 40k in credit card debt.
I.
There's not much we can do for you because we want to make sure every client we do bring on can actually get their first property in three months. So as of right now, just as a ballpark number between ranges, I guess, how much did you actually have set aside to at least start saving up for right now?
I would like to have 15 grand by the middle of the summer for me to actually approach this. And I'm. I'm not far off of that. That's not a finite number of what I have sent away right now. But it's, It's. It's more of a target for me.
Gotcha. And of the 15k, like, ballpark, where are we, like 50% there? A quarter of the way there?
I have my money dispersed right now. I have some of it invested in, some of it tied up in other things. Right now. I have a lot of assets in. I have a massive asset and vehicle. My vehicle's paid off. So, I mean, it's. It's hard for me to exactly tell because most of my capital is in assets at the moment.
Yeah, I mean, as far as, like just liquid capital goes, like, ballpark it.
Maybe 15k. If I were to look into my accounts right now, maybe 15k right now, dumping that money isn't exactly something that I would be keen on because it would run me pretty thin.
And I'm not talking like other investments. I'm saying, do we have 15,000 liquid or like, how much? Actually, just liquid.
That's. That's about where I'm sitting. Liquid right now.
Okay, so we're looking to get to 15k by summer. But we have 15k liquid.
Yes, I have 15k now, but it's not 15k that I'm willing to spend. That's more of my savings that I'm not willing to spend at the moment.
Gotcha. So that's just, like, in a savings account. In our bank account.
Okay.
Yeah, that's. That's money that I have tied up in the market right now that I refuse to touch.
Yeah. So I'm saying, like, again, because when we're talking about, like, liquid means it's not tied up in anything.
Oh, okay. So right now, I probably have only a couple right now. Okay, That's. That's more of why I was telling Adam that I would need months to prepare myself financially for that kind of job.
I hear you, brother. I hear you. So then, obviously, we talked about in the beginning, like, we're not getting into Airbnb, starting a whole new business model. This in Kumbaya. It's a ranifier. We are looking to go out there, buy back our time, get our freedom, actually become that business owner. So for you, 12, 24 months down the road.
Okay, so with all of that, man, I would at least need to address all this. Okay, so. And I can. I can appreciate, man, like, we're not maybe comfortable with certain things, but do you feel like that's the part of. Part of the problem? Oh, what do you mean? You diving into it and you really letting go of this fear of the unknown. Is it supposed to be comfortable? So if you come to me saying, like, hey, I need a couple months to, like, get comfortable, right? Then when we go into. And like, let's say, like, you know, six months from now, you do that, you hop into the program. I'll tell you right now, with that mentality, you're just not going to get the same results versus somebody who is willing to get uncomfortable. You get what I'm saying? So does it actually benefit you to just stay in your comfort zone? If we're really looking to get rid of this fear of the unknown, Because I'll be the first one to tell you, man, if you're just looking to stay completely comfortable in your comfort zone, like, we're probably not the champs for you. Because if I, like, again, if I allow him to just, like, entrench this belief, man, like, I don't know where you could go with the objection handling at this point, because, like, we can, we can go through it. But like, with that, it's like, dude, that's like, it's an uphill battle. Like, we just need to push back on what he's comfortable with. And why is he actually looking to get out is like him being in his comfort zone. Is that where he needs to be if he wants to get the outcomes he's looking for? And the obvious answer is, no, it's not. Well, why isn't it? Okay, so are you willing to actually get outside of your comfort zone? So that way instead of six months from now, we're talking about, you know, jumping in or however long, let's say three, six, six months ago, Instead of us having a conversation about you actually diving into this and starting to learn, you and I are having a conversation about getting your third property. Like, which one would you rather do? Like, which, which summer would you rather have you on your third property or you just now starting to even learn about getting your first.
One to two years? Like, what are you looking to make in a year with Airbnb?
I'm not really sure. I haven't looked at the figures of what certain properties would give me yet, to be honest, because, I mean, I've looked into potentially getting like smaller, like one bedroom, two bedroom houses to rent out. And then there's obviously a fully different scale of doing it where if you have the capital to rent out something that's $88,000 a month in rent, you.
Can obviously, I mean, like, everything property aside, because you don't know the exact numbers because you're not in the business model yet. But what would you like to be.
Making, like, let's say in 24 months?
Okay, so again, it's good that you're like, hey, man, take that aside. But you can just do that better so you gain more authority. Just like, hey, can I, can I make a suggestion, man? I appreciate right now we don't know the how. That's why we're here. Like, I know the how. I've walked hundreds of people and I can walk you through it as well. You focus on what you want, and then I'll walk you through the how. All right, so it's like you don't know the how. I know the how. I felt hundreds of people with it. You focus on what you want. So again, it just like, you take, you take more authority that way.
If, if, if I could make myself an extra, even just 100 grand in two years, I mean, it would. It would make a lot of a difference for us because obviously, like, we're looking into Airbnb to kind of develop startup capital, and we want to eventually make a bigger step into potentially real estate investing when we get older. And obviously, that's more of like a what, what, what?
Nip that in the butt a lot earlier.
She's still coming up 10, 15, 20 years potentially down the path when we actually have money to play with and we can sign on to mortgages and stuff without having to worry about tying ourselves to one thing.
I hear you. So let's say, for example, because at the end of the day, we can come in, give you the support, accountability, teach you market analysis, all the fun stuff, so that we can help you get to at least six figures a year through Airbnb.
Six figures is such a wide range. I would get more specific number.
At the end of the day, money is just a vehicle. It's a tool, if you will. So for you to actually go out there, make six figures just through your own business, like, what difference would that actually make for you?
I think it would provide my girlfriend and I with a lot of freedoms outside of general creature comforts that most of us have here. We've always wanted to see the world and do it before we're too old to experience it. You know, we want to go to Italy. We want to go to Asia.
What's on Italy, huh?
What's out? Nearly.
We'd actually like to live there someday. I mean, we're not exactly fans of the American lifestyle, to be honest.
Okay.
We're actually looking in to eventually retiring overseas, potentially, if we can.
Yeah. Why Italy, though?
It just seems like a. A peaceful way to kind of. Way to kind of cap life up. Yeah, a little bit.
I'm not too familiar with the Italian lifestyle, but, like, is there a specific spot that you guys.
So again, he's talking about, like, retirement. I would want to bring him back more to the present. Yeah. And it's like. And definitely. And we could talk about, like, retirement, but let's just say, like, travel over the next, like, year or so. Like, what are those spots you're really looking to hit?
Why those are looking to go soon? Or, like, is there, like, a tourist?
And why. Why do you feel like. Like freedom and travel? Like, the. The really. The need to do that? Like, where do you feel like that drive comes from? Or why is it so important to you, man?
But no, we actually. We've actually looked into trying to do our best to stay away from tourist areas when we travel because when we do travel, we wanna. We wanna see places for what they really are.
Yeah.
First spot in Italy, you would go.
We definitely want to go to, like, Napoli and Sicily because of the levels of heritage that both of the areas have and they're not. I mean, Napoli tends to be a little bit of a tourist trap, but Sicily is deep in heritage, and I've always been a huge food guy, so, I mean, going over to Italy and experiencing the culinary life over there, it's kind of a dream of mine.
I hear you, man. Okay. So for you to be able to actually start living that dream, because he.
Keeps on talking about, like, freedom and travel, it's like, like, why, like, why is freedom and travel so important? Like, where does this drive come from for you to really want to be able to, like, not be restrained and be able to travel like that? And I get it's always something that's been a dream of yours, but why do you feel like it is? Like, where do you feel like that comes from?
Right.
It's like, like you're, like you're taking.
That layer deeper and, like, have the capabilities and the financial ability to fly out there, go out there, have that freedom. What does that do for you? Almost, like.
Almost personally, I feel like it would make me feel more complete, in a word. Oh, you know, in what way? I don't know. It's. I feel like it's a little bit of a waste of life to keep your bubble small. And I feel like not traveling is one of the major mistakes that people make throughout their lives because you. You go through your life seeing, especially with, I mean, social media and Internet nowadays, I feel like a lot of people feel like they can go through life never actually seeing things for what they are, because you can look up a video or watch a movie, you know, and.
Right.
My girlfriend and I want to experience things for ourselves rather than experience things through other people.
Right. I hear you, man. And if you can actually picture it, like, 12 months down the road.
Okay, so if he doesn't travel, he's not complete. Let's like, again, let's take this. Let's take this deeper, dude. Like. Like, what do you mean? You, like, you know, you want to be complete. So, like, where do you feel like that that comes from? Like, just a feeling of not being complete. If you can't travel to certain places, like you said, most people are just totally fine just looking on their phone. Where do you feel like that came from, man? Please take it a little deeper. Just spend a Little bit extra time.
Here, dude, you're able to actually get on that plane, fly up to Sicily, Italy, see the heritage, try the food. Like at that moment, how would you feel?
I feel like, I feel like I made it more than anything. Yeah, I don't, My girlfriend and I, we don't, when we get married, we don't want to be millionaires. You know, we don't need to be driving around in $150,000 cars, we don't need a 2 million dollar estate. We, we just want to focus on having the freedom to see, to see the world and to share it with people that we carry, we care about.
And actually see everything the world has to offer.
Have memories that are actually valuable to us than feeling like we missed out on a vacation here, we should have gone on this trip, or we missed that concert, or didn't go on that cruise because we couldn't afford it or didn't feel like we needed to spend that money, you know?
I hear you, man. And when we do talk about things like that, like there's always two sides to a coin. So on the other side, if nothing does change in our income, in our skill set and our knowledge, how likely is it in 12 months we're able to actually go out there and experience that?
I mean, I feel like that depends on the person, but for me, I feel like I'm trying to create autonomy.
Yeah.
If nothing changes, externalizes everything. Well, it depends on the prep. Like, and then he doesn't answer, it's like, oh, I'm trying to do things. And again, because we haven't really addressed like the try the wants these type of things. So he just keeps on becoming entrenched and we haven't really addressed like him externalizing the wheeze, you know, a lot.
Of people, like how likely is that to happen in 12 months?
But do you see how it accumulates? It accumulates and accumulates. And then at the end, some of his like answers to the questions you're asking, asking are a bit ridiculous for me.
Unlikely. I mean it just, I feel like it depends on how comfortable you are with how much money you have. And I mean, yeah, everybody level of happiness is dependent on themselves. But I feel like in a year if I weren't able to take a massive chunk of money out of my bank account and not worry about it, I feel like I'd be a little unhappy with myself.
Yeah.
So for you then, if we actually.
Don'T like take it deeper, maybe you're over. Because who really gets out of their comfort zone, gets rid of their fear just for a little, you know, to avoid a little unhappiness. Do you feel like that might be part of the problem? Just because we keep on telling ourselves if we don't achieve this, we're just going to be a little unhappy. So be. So be real with me, man. If nothing does change, let's go right into it.
Don't get the proper skills and knowledge to create that.
Like a lot of what this guy's problem is just the way that he.
Communicates business and actually start living that life. Like what would be the actual day to day impact of us just having to stay doing the same thing, brother?
I mean, at a certain point I think everybody needs to be happy with what they have, have, you know, and there's balance between going after what you want and being happy with what you have. And obviously that's not me being okay with complacency. But I, I try to, I try to not overreach because even if I don't, even if I'm not where I want to be in a year or in two years, that doesn't mean that I won't be there in four or five.
We'll make sure.
It'S good that you're challenging. Let's see.
I feel like what makes me sure is the fact that I know I won't give up if I know I actually want something. So even if I do fail to.
Be real with me, man, if nothing does change, let's go right into it.
Don't get the proper skills and knowledge to create that.
Like a lot of what this guy's problem is just the way that he.
Communicates business and actually start living that life. Like what would be the actual day to day impact of us just having to stay doing the same thing, brother?
I mean, at a certain point I think everybody needs to be happy. I'll have the gumption to try again.
And I can definitely appreciate your willingness, but for you as the man, it's.
Like, well, why would you keep trying though? Because he just said, well, eventually you just got to be happy with what you're given. Well, if he continues to try, try and try, then he's kind of admitting well he wouldn't be happy with what he's given. Like you'd want to change it. You get like, you see how that's contradictory, like right back to back like that someone attack it. Well, why would you continue to try and try men? And I'm not questioning your willingness, but, but in order to have like the most motivation to get something. We got to know what we're running away from. Because if you're on 100 meter line, I'll probably just use analogy if he's just like not understanding what you're getting at. You know, if you had 100 meter line and you're running towards the gold, like, dude, you'll run fast, but if there's a line behind you, you think you might run faster. Why is that? So do you want the motivation of just running towards or also have the motivation of you running, running away so that way you run as quick as possible. So be with me, man.
What really happens, like if you didn't actually pursue something that could guarantee that you get to live that life and you don't get to give your girlfriend that great life. You just stay good. How would you feel as a man?
Probably overstepping the language just a little bit.
I would have to tell you after I crossed that bridge, it's hard to tell how I would feel in the future if I haven't done it yet. Yeah, I try, I try to keep an old.
Do you want to experience that level? Do you want it to experience that like you falling short because that's a statement. Like I don't know what it, like it actually feels like to get shot in the army, but I can tell you it's gonna hurt. You know what I'm saying? So it's like him not even being able to admit it is like it's a problem. And it's probably because again, like he's been entrenched in the language and all this. The entire call. We're 45 minutes in. This call is dragging out a bit. And we pro. We could have just got there for just a little bit more straightforward. And we smack them like as soon as these things come up. So that way they just don't continue throughout the course call. Because like, what's dragging this call out so long is you haven't asked each question three times. That's what's happening.
Open mind about how things may or may not pan out for myself. And looking at. Looking that far down the road isn't necessarily always something that I'm super keen on because I think life is full of possibilities and I think doors are constantly opening all the time. And I think it's just about whether or not you decide to walk through.
Redone and yeah, and I, I hear what you're saying to a point, man. Because like at the.
Dude, like, okay, so. And that's why I'M like, saying we needed to attack, like, him waning because what did he just tell you? Well, you know, I'm just gonna wait. I'm. I don't want to look too far into the future because doors might just open up to me. So I'm gonna wait for doors to open up to me. So he kind of goes in some ways, but he still falls back to this pattern of him waning. So that's why we needed to attack that. So then if, like, let's say. And it probably wouldn't if we attacked it, but let's say this does come up. We just bring it back to what we talked about before. Well, how is that any different than you just waning for things to happen for you? So if that way of thinking continue, is that way of thinking worth keeping if we actually want to get out of this? So I can appreciate us not wanting to look to the future future of what happens if things don't change because it's painful, but what if I told you that that's what we really needed to do if we're going to get to the level where we need to be as quick as possible? Can I share why? Because if you put somebody on 100, me, like, you just go into an analogy. This guy, These. These calls get me riled up, bro. Like, I'm like, let me add them. Let me get on a call with this. Let me have a conversation. Let me do this. Okay, cool. All right.
At the end of the day, we don't want to focus on the negative because that's technically where our mind goes.
Yeah, it's. It's.
It's. It kills.
It kills you slowly.
Yeah.
But it is also important to know what we're running away from, because, like, if we're in a forest and you think of, like, a bear and a deer, like, the bear, he's running towards something, which is the deer, and the deer is running away from something. Which animal do you feel like is going to run faster?
The deer.
Okay, good. So you used an analogy because he's.
Running away from something because he knows if he stops running, that bear is going to kill him. So if we can't, you could probably.
It's like that. That deer has in vivid detail in its mind what will happen if that bear catches him. So if you have to do that for yourself, Right.
Then you got to actually visualize the pain of not succeeding. We'll never know what we're gonna run away from. And when things get difficult, when diversity comes up, we're just gonna. We're gonna take the easy way, the comfortable way.
Did you say diversity? Diversity. Little slip. Yeah.
So if we had to sit and think about it for a moment because I can appreciate we don't want to, but for us to actually put ourselves in the best position possible to map out where we need to be, it's important for us to realize this.
Yep.
You can ask.
We don't get into something.
So it's like. So do you just want the motivation of what you're running towards or do you also want the motivation of what you're running away from? So you get there as quick as possible. Do you want this so you get there as quick as possible? Oh, well, yeah, I want to get there as quick as possible, so be real with me. So it's like you get a little bit more buy in. It's less you telling them something.
We stay the per. We stay the comfortable person. Just going through the motions, not actually living up to our full potential.
Yep.
Like, what would the day to day impact of that be? Waking up at 45 and realizing we're still working in golf maintenance.
I feel like, I feel like I failed myself a little bit. I feel like I'd fail. I feel like I failed my girlfriend a little bit. I know she would never hold that against me in any way.
Right.
Because we love each other for who we are. But I would feel like I let, I let myself down.
Why would you feel that way, man?
Because I didn't put in. I didn't put the effort into myself and I didn't put the effort into something that I genuinely cared about to create that freedom for myself.
But the even.
I can definitely.
The even tougher question we got to answer is if you wake up tomorrow and we still haven't gotten rid of that fear of the unknown and we look into the mirror knowing we're wasting our potential, not giving it her all. Like, how is that gonna feel? It's like, okay, 45 years. Like, that's. And again, we're talking about like the consequences. It's good to like, okay, 20 year consequence. But it's like when somebody's 25, when you really sit and you think about it, dude, like, you're talking about his entire life. He probably doesn't. You know, I don't remember when I was five. Not really. You get what I'm saying? So it's like you don't really remember when you're young. So it's like you have to live in another lifetime to get this consequence. So it feels so far away. So bring them to tomorrow. Like, if you wake up tomorrow and, like, in it. Or you can bring it back to, you know, if you wake up tomorrow and you're at work and you're sitting there knowing you could be more productive, but you're not because you're wasting your potential and you're holding on to this fear of the unknown, like, how is that going to feel? Fucking smashes, dude.
Appreciate that. So for you, are you willing to settle for that life, though?
I don't think so.
You don't think so? Good.
I'm not.
Yeah.
It's not. Yeah, it's.
It's because at the end of the day, like, whose choice is it if you do decide to settle for that life or change it?
It's mine.
Yeah.
And being okay with it shouldn't. Shouldn't be an option, because then it's not an option.
Right.
But I mean, like, why not just.
Well, you did a good job of staying in the pocket until you got a real good consequence. I'm just saying you could just take it just like, at like, an 8. Like, how do we take it to 10?
I'm gonna do, like, what 99 of people do, which is kick the can down the road. You know, just hope and pray things naturally come together. Like, why not just be one of those guys?
To me, I don't want to be part of the system. I don't want to go through my life feeling like I didn't notice anything and feel like I didn't notice.
I think I saw it already, but all I need you to have is just a pen and paper.
Yep. Let's see where we go ahead. We can see where you drop the price. I think you just go ahead and then you transition. So, like, overall, man, I would say just be a little bit more aware of their language. Start to change their language a little bit. Little bit earlier on in the conversation is just going to be better overall, so you don't run into this. The reason this call took so long is because you just had to keep on, like, re asking the question. Re asking the question. Re asking the question with what they.
Have, you know, and there's balance between going after what you want and being happy with what you have. And obviously that's not me being okay with complacency, but I. I try to. I try to not overreach, because even if I don't. Even if I'm not where I want to be in a year or in.
Two years, because he wasn't answering it. But we never really addressed the, the things he was using to not answer it. The we, the some people that, you know, I try or you know, I want all these different things, all these different language. Now it's good. At the very, the very end, you finally, you did, you got a definite statement out of him and you got real emotion. If you noticed he was like a little bit like teary eyed, a little bit thinking about that future, like fan tastic. You finally got there. But I'm saying we probably could have got there 20 minutes earlier if we just picked up on the language. We addressed it, we addressed the real things. We talked about the patterns of him waning, all these different things and just becoming more aware of it. But overall, man, because this guy like he hopped on the call just immediately it's like, okay, I'm not going to buy and like talking about external waiting, all these different things. So eventually 45 minutes in, we got to the real emotion, got that commitment. So let's see where we go at the end of the call.
Funding needed. It's only going to be $5,000 and that's lifetime access. So does that all that make sense?
Yeah, it does.
Okay, well here, man, I really have nothing left to go over with you. Seems like we've covered everything you really were looking for in growing a business. If it's appropriate, we make some sort of funding arrangement, we get you into the community and we get you rolling from there. Okay, so from here, how would you like to proceed, brother?
Are you guys in easy contacts to reach back out to if I'm not ready today?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Is there like a specific reason you're asking?
I just don't think I'm willing to start right at this very moment. I have a lot of other things going on that I do need to put my attention into over the next couple of weeks, but it's definitely something that I can jump on soon. I don't think I can enroll myself today, unfortunately for you.
But so it's a good, good thing. So just notice through the discovery process and what you did do, you moved him from summertime to now a couple weeks. So now you understand his timeline is movable. Now we only have 5 minutes left left to this conversation, so maybe you had another call and you had to jet. But this guy's like his, his timeline moved like six months. You get what I'm saying? So now we just need to move it two more weeks. Like his timeline is movable and you've shown that because it's gone from summer to two weeks from now, three weeks from now.
As long as I can keep you guys as a resource once I am ready. Because I'm. I'm. I'm trying to get my ducks in a row in a way right now. And I feel like I need a couple more ducks in a row before I can jump. Jump onto the ship with you guys. And that's kind of what I was telling Adam too. So, I mean, if. If I can reach back out to you or reach back out to Adam in a couple of weeks or a month's time and enroll with you guys, that would probably be a lot easier for me today.
Yeah, that's perfect, man. And then just to. Just to see if I can even help you in the first place, when you say just get your ducks in a row, what did you mean by that?
A little bit of organization. My girlfriend and I are trying to figure some stuff out in the house. House that we're living right now. We're doing a little bit of upgrading. So my time is generally tied up in ways that it's not typically tied up.
And when I like dude, okay, so he. He has a time issue, but he wants to be the guy that has freedom. That's who he wants to be. So we need to attack the time using that identity. Let's see if we do it.
When I do start with you guys, I want to be able to make sure that I.
But again, like, he is. He is saying buying language right now. Now, again, like, the likelihood that like two weeks, three weeks from now, like, he does come through, especially with biz ops do rely Right. Reliability of that is just much lower. I'm not saying, like, he doesn't mean it right now. And this is just a. So you don't lull yourself into, oh yeah, this guy's definitely coming in. And three weeks, like, what's going to happen? Like, he probably hops off the call if we don't get him across the line fully believing that. But then he just falls back into his own pattern. This is like just with anything that people aren't business owners, they already. They haven't taken the action. That action threshold. Okay. Like, it's so much higher than somebody who's used to taking action like a business owner to where, like, maybe you can wait a week and they'll. Those guys will still come in. I mean, even with business owners still push for it. But don't let them lull you into, oh, this guy's definitely coming in because the likelihood is probably not.
I do have that time, and right now I have a lot of balls in the air that I don't usually have flying around right there.
Just the time's not there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right at this very moment.
Yeah, no worries about that, brother. And I mean, like, time aside, like, if we had, like, all the time in the world, would this actually be the answer for you?
Yeah, I think so.
I think so. So it's like there's a difference between yes, it would be and yeah, I think so. Listen to this again.
Yeah, I think so.
The fuck was that? Like, you need to address that. You need a phatic yes before you move on.
Why would it be, though?
Because I think it's something that I'd be good at. It's something that I'd be good at paying attention to and something that I can put my energy into without getting tired of it.
Yeah.
And I mean, like, for you, though, like, why would you actually put your. Your time and effort into something like this?
For the future. Sorry, my girlfriend just walked in.
No worries. I hear the door opening, so I was like, no worries, dude.
When, like, somebody else walks in and. Oh, yeah, it definitely does change the dynamic. Especially, like, you've got him to be a lot more open. So this is just going to be tougher overall. Not saying you can't do it. Like, I've definitely. People walked in. I'm like, you know, do you want to have them hop on, like, us, have a quick chat and then, like, you know, sit there and, like, sell both of them? It just, like, it depends on if you have the time. So if you have another call at the top of the hour and then also the girlfriend walked in, like, it's just going to be. It'll just probably take more time to. If, like, let's. If she, like, hovers and sticks around and wants to talk or wants to know what's going on? Like, a lot of times they'll, like, they'll come in, but then they'll just go wherever and you can continue your conversation.
Yeah. Just moving forward, developing more cash flow in an income stream that's outside of our jobs.
Yeah, I can appreciate that. But for you, why would we actually invest our precious time into our future?
Because your future is valuable.
Yeah.
So can I make a suggestion?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like, the guy who says he has time and the guy who says he's busy, they're both right. Because at the end of the day, it doesn't really come down to the time we have, but it comes down to the time we make. So how important is it for you to actually build that second stream of income, actually provide that future for you and your girlfriend.
Right at this very moment in time? I do appreciate all the insight you provided for me, but.
Yeah, and then he just kind of shut you down.
Doing it today, I just don't think is an option for me.
Yeah, and I appreciate that. I'm not talking about doing this today, doing this tomorrow. I'm just saying how important is it for you to actually provide that lifestyle for you and your girlfriend in the future?
It's, it's very important to me. But the timing, Timing needs to be right more than anything.
Yeah.
And that's the.
So it's like again, and this is why if we attack the waning, like we have more, more leverage here. Like the timing has to be right. Like that's what he's been doing. He's been waning, hoping the timing's right. This is a pattern for him. This is what I talked about before. If we didn't address this, guess what the gonna happen? Is it gonna come up in ejection handling? Right. Called it. But if we attacked it, we could have bring it up there. Let's say we don't, we miss it. That's where we're at right now. How I want to attack. The time is going to be different. Okay, so it, it's, it's less of. Well, how important is it for you? It's. And I can appreciate like right now like time being a bit of a challenge, but you being that person who actually fulfills his potential and has that freedom, is that just a short term shirt? Short term? Can't speak. Is that a short term or a long term decision? Like, oh well, it's, it's a long term. Or is that something that you're just gonna be doing for the short term or are you gonna be doing that for life? Oh, like I wanna do that for life. Well, can I, can I share perspective on that then? Cause if you're gonna do this for life, if you're going to be that person that actually fulfills their potential and has that level of freedom, is it safe to say over your life you're gonna run into another time? You don't have the time? Like, yeah. So if that's the case that we're wanting to do this for life, then the best time to do it is when we don't have the time. Like why is that? Because if you can make it work when you really don't have the Time, you can make it work for a lifetime, but if you have to wait until all the time lines up, that's a short term decision. Because as soon as you don't have the time again, we're gonna, we're not gonna be able to do it. Do you get what I'm saying? So do you want to be that person who is just doing this for the short term and waiting for the right time, or do you want to be that person who is going to do this for a lifetime? Why do you want to be the person who does it for a lifetime? What if you don't? What if you keep on telling yourself you have to wait for the perfect time in order to do this, what's going to happen then? Right? So it's just, it's, it's a different way to attack it. Rather than you just telling him he has the time. It's not about time I have, but time you make like, yes, for some people that will work, but it's like we have more leverage with this guy at this point. Go the identity route and really tie it all together.
The beautiful thing about time, it's like there's never gonna be a right moment.
Whether it's today, tomorrow, and again you're telling him this. But you see, like I talk like if you walk them through, through, you can explain like why that is and do they agree and all that stuff.
One more 45. Like you said yourself, like you could be 50 and it could be the right time, but like the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. When's the next best time?
Today. Yeah.
Now I can appreciate whether you get a lot going on, but it does come down to the time we're willing to actually make. So are you committed to actually putting the work in, to seeing results so that you can guarantee not just Pierce.
Or too, too early? Too early.
If you're girlfriend, your future family, that you have that life.
Yeah, it's very important.
Yeah, that's important. Are you actually committed? Because something being important, someone being committed about it, are two different things.
All right, man, I, I appreciate your time.
So we're kind of like going in leaps, going in loops. Again. This one it was a little bit tougher because like the girl walked in and that did change the dynamic of it a bit. Again, if we would have like number one call being 20 minutes shorter, would have got that deal in two. If we were to really address the wanting or the waning, like really address that. Because now he's like, what's the objection at the end. He just wants to wait. It's his pattern. So just pick up on that. The trying, the wanting. Overall, man, I would say you got to this guy's true emotion, which is good. And you did move him from like, hey, I'm going to do this in the summertime to I'm going to do the this in a couple weeks. Okay, so kudos on that. Like, you did move this guy. We just didn't move him enough from some of the things we missed addressing the language. But overall, man, good call. This guy was just going to be a little bit more difficult overall, as somebody who was hopping on the call already telling you he wasn't gonna buy all that, which, again, you could still. You could sell those people. Okay. It's a defense mechanism. But yeah. Let me know if you have any questions on this. Hopefully that's been helpful.
