A short coaching excerpt (Christian Polk) explaining why prospects resist sales "frames" and how to get buy-in: use immediate reframes by repeating the prospect's recent words (within seconds), focus on and surface the prospect's "why," and tailor your response around that why. Avoid referencing older comments (e.g., from 30 minutes ago) because that can make you seem inattentive and reduce buy-in.

But let's just say we just start going into frames right now on what they said 30 minutes ago. It can come across like you didn't listen to them for the past 10 and you chose to ignore it. You know what I mean? It's less fresh in their mind. Yeah. Versus they just said this 10 seconds ago. And you're like, hey, and I appreciate you being open and real about that. And then you dive into whatever it is that you are going to do, whatever the frame is. And you use the point that they literally just said. It's very hard for them to view you as somebody who's like, not listening to them because you're repeating back the literal words that just came out of their mouth. So that is a big key, key lever that you can start pulling and objection. Handling that will get people to at least be more open to the conversation. Because I assume why these conversations or why these reframes don't go anywhere. It's just because it's like they kind of understand what you're saying is true, but they don't come along with you. But the reason they don't come along with you is because of how are they viewing you. Do they view me as someone who's like, actually there to help? And the way we get them to understand we're actually there to help is I need them to actually talk and focus on their why. And then I customize whatever it is I'm about to say around their why that they just told me. Like, there's a reason why you isolate and you get buy in that. Buy in that why. Right. There is basically the tool that you use to help them overcome their concerns. So if you don't have that or you're trying to go back 30 minutes to grab it, it's not going to be as potent.
