A short YouTube monologue by Christian Polk advising people with no sales experience how to get hired. Key advice: project confidence and authority, handle pushback/objections proactively, and demonstrate seller qualities during hiring (persistence, humor, follow-up). Polk gives a hiring anecdote: he hired a setter who persistently messaged him in DMs, used humor/memes, and showed follow-up behavior, which signaled capability.

If somebody doesn't have experience, what they're really looking for is how are you actually coming across. If you do come across as, like, more timid or something along those lines or just less sure of yourself, that's going to then seep into sales conversations. What they're looking for are the qualities of a good salesperson, right? They come across, like, very authoritative. They're taking control. If they do give you some pushback, like, oh, I don't know. Like, I don't know if you have the experience for this. Like, you actually try to handle their objection. What do you mean by that, man? Right? Like, actually, like, see what's going on. See if you can't reframe, use your fucking sales. You know what I mean? So, yeah, that's what I would say. Because I have had people reach out to me who have no sales experience for, like, setting roles. The one setter I actually did hire, that was in my DMs, it's because she showed me the qualities that I would want in a really good setter, which she was very, very fucking persistent. And she was funny, right? She made me laugh multiple times, right? So it's like, without me ever responding to her, like, it was just like day after day after day, like, fudgeing memes and shit. So I'm like, all right, let me give her a shot. So it's like you're showing the qualities of what you could do through the process, through you following up. Like, let's say you interview for a job they haven't gotten back to you. What are you going to do? Are you just going to pussy foot around? Like, no, you're going to follow up? And I'm like, hey, man, got any questions? Send them a fucking meme. Like, something along those lines. Just you want to show them that you are a capable person.
