In this solo sales‑coaching monologue, Christian Polk explains that when a prospect says they need to "sleep on it," they are not literally asking for more rest but are expressing fear and a desire to avoid commitment. Polk advises salespeople to defuse this objection with humor—reminding the prospect they aren’t selling a bed—then probe until the underlying genuine objection surfaces. He asserts that only three true objections exist: time, money, or perceived value. Once the real objection is identified, the seller should address it directly, secure the credit‑card details, and close the deal. The video ends with a call to follow for more sales tips.

I just need to sleep on it before I move forward. So when a prospect tells you that they just need to sleep on it, understand what it does not mean. It does not mean I just need 8 hours of sleep, then I'll do it. What will happen is they'll leave the call, that time will pass, and then they'll— What they'll do is they'll leave the call, time will pass, and then they'll ghost you. You're going to be all sad and then I'm going to laugh at you. So you have to understand what that really means. When they say, let me sleep on it first, they're saying, I'm scared and I want to think about this, which translates to I'm politely asking permission to run away from my responsibilities. Oh my God. So how do we actually handle it? The first thing you're going to do is you're going to diffuse it with humor. You're not in the business of selling pillows. Tell them that. So when they say, I need to sleep on it, you're going to say, well, hey, man, I'm not selling beds over here. Like, what's actually going on? We want to diffuse and get to the real objection because there are only 3 objections that a prospect can give you on a call that are actually real. The rest are smokescreens. They don't exist. They're fairy dust. They're fugazi, fugazi. It's either time, money, or value. And if it's not one of these 3 things, you flush it out until you get time, money, or value. Once you get time, money, or value, then you handle the objection. Once you handle it, you take the credit card details, and then you're gonna make some money. Follow for more sales tips.
