In this brief excerpt from Christian Polk's YouTube video on stress management for high‑performing sales closers, Speaker A and Speaker B discuss the pitfalls of working seven days a week and the importance of taking a structured day off. Speaker A emphasizes that a day off should involve purposeful recovery activities rather than unproductive habits like playing video games all day. Speaker B questions what the appropriate approach to a day off should be, highlighting the need for clear guidance on restorative practices for closers who face constant pressure.
As opposed to working seven days a week to where, like, I'm. I have no choice but stay in the schedule.
When you talk about taking a day off from taking calls, you're not just sitting around and, like, playing video games all day Sunday.
Am I supposed to do it?
I don't know, go to church? Like, actually, like. Or do some recovery stuff. Like do something. Like, fill your day with something that actually improves and helps your recovery. Let's just say for an example, every single Sunday, you have a hot yoga class that you have to go to in the mornings. Just take a look at the day. Like, typically it's Sundays because that's when most people are not working. Typically, Sunday is going to be your least ROI day. There's just not that many sales there. Now if you really want to go super hard in the paint and go every single day like, that is fine. Why I'm advising you against that right now is because you're having a hard time coping with the stress, with overeating. So what that tells me is you are not recovering. If you had all of your food dialed in, if you had your exercise dialed in, you're getting sun every day and you're working seven days a week, I'll be like, dude, fucking more power to you. Get after it. We don't have those things dialed in now. The stress is getting to us and then that's causing us to overeat. No bueno. I don't care if you're making 20k per month, dude, if you're fucking fat, bro, you're not going to be happy making 20k per month and being fat. You're not. So don't do that.
