"I never decide on the first call." vs. $8M Closer

Christian Polk coaches a prospect through a mindset shift from earning $5,000 to $20,000 a month. The prospect's habit of never deciding on first calls signals low-level decision-making. Polk pushes him to act as his higher-earning self now, not wait for proof, and the prospect commits to taking the leap.

I've never taken a decision on the first call. I know we went through all this stuff. Like, I appreciate it, but it's just something I do.
No, I get it, man. Can I share perspective?
Go ahead.
The statement of this is something I do. The reason why we're on the call is because we want that to be a very fluid thing, right? Like, we don't want the things that we continue to do to be the things we continue to do in the future. Like, would you agree?
Yeah, it won't change.
To be frank, dude, the decisions that we've made up until this point has led you to hopping on a call with me. So it hasn't quite gotten us to the level that we truly want to be. Is that something you agree with?
Yeah.
Why?
It's not just my decisions. It's like my skill set, how I perceive money, closing people.
That all is going to influence how we make decisions and the outcomes that we get. I can understand, like right now, like, dude, if I was in your shoes, like, yeah, I'd want to take a day. I'd want to take 2 days. I'd want to take a week. But it's because that's how we've been showing up. And because of that, that shows in our results. So it's like it makes sense you want to take time because we've been the $5K a month version of ourselves. The hard part is if we take a look in the future and we look at the $20,000 per month version of ourselves, how would they make decisions? Would they say like, oh no, I don't make decisions on the call? Or would they know like, okay, I know this is going to work for me, I'm just going to go ahead and invest? What do you think? Yeah, exactly. And like the hardest part with that is in order to get to where we want to be, we have to start making decisions like we're already there. If somebody's 500 pounds, they don't get a six-pack and then start going to the gym. What do they have to start doing right away? So if we want to be that $20K per month version of ourselves, what do we actually have to start doing right now to actually get there?
Make $20K per month decisions. Why?
It's just what got them there. Well, I'm talking about like for you personally, like why do you feel like you need to start making $20K per month decisions in order to get there?
My family needs the money, they offer loans, and get ourselves in a better place.
I have to ask, dude, if we keep on making decisions like we have and we keep on making decisions like we're the $5K per month version of ourselves, be real with me, because again, I'm on your team. What is the actual day-to-day impact a year from now if we stay in that same mode of thinking?
Life goes on like this, the water's just cold every time I take a shower, and I hate that.
Water cold? Like, that's basic, right? Like, very surface level. Be real with me, like, how is that actually going to affect your family if you're not able to provide the level that you truly need to?
I hate seeing my daughter eat the food we're eating.
I understand that. I have a daughter too, and I understand that it's tough. And these are the tough questions we have to ask so we actually change our situation. If we keep on giving her what we have, what actual impact do you feel like that would have on her growing up?
You're not gonna have a good childhood. That's not gonna lead to anything good.
Is that something we're willing to allow to happen?
No, I don't want that to happen.
So what do we need to do to make sure, like, that's not even in the realm of possibility, that we're doing everything in our power possible to get to where we need to be?
I gotta take the leap. My daughter said it.
Let's go ahead and take the leap. Let's get the first payment taken care of. And dude, I promise you, you come in, you put in the work, you'll get the result. So let's go ahead and let's get this in place.
Let's do it, man.
