In this role‑play video, Christian Polk moderates a conversation between two participants (Speaker A and Speaker B) about a potential high‑stakes investment. Speaker B expresses a desire to investigate the business thoroughly, citing a data‑driven approach and personal skepticism. Speaker A probes the underlying motivations, highlighting the tension between fear and opportunity. The dialogue uncovers Speaker B’s primary driver—providing for his two children’s college education—and his concern about financial risk. Christian and Speaker A employ coaching‑style persuasion, reframing fear as a catalyst for decisive action, offering two pathways: let fear constrain you or shape it into massive action. After exploring the emotional and rational arguments, Speaker B chooses the proactive path, reaffirming his commitment to make the investment work for his family’s future. The exchange ends with a concrete next step: proceeding with the investment setup.

Yeah, man, how would you like to proceed?
I'm going to investigate your business.
Oh, what do you— what do you mean by that?
I got to see what other people are saying. Bad, good. I am a data-driven person, so I'll go do that.
I can appreciate that, man. Didn't know I was talking to Sherlock Holmes over here.
Right.
But help me understand, like, what's— what's actually behind that? What makes you feel like you have to do that?
Just business, man. I mean, I don't go off emotions here, and I, number one, need to calm down. And number two, I just need more data. I don't know, dude.
I get it. Right.
So we're talking about like more data though.
Like ultimately, whatever it is that you're you're looking for on the internet, you're going to find it. The new Lamborghini, there are 1-star reviews out there.
Whatever it is that you're looking for, you will find it, right? So if you're looking for things to talk you out of it, you're going to find things that are going to talk you out of it.
If you're looking for reasons to do it, you're going to find a ton of reasons to do it. So it's like, be real with me, man, because like I'm on your team. I want to help as best as I can, but I can only help if you're honest with me. Are you looking for reasons not to do this? Are you looking for reasons to do this?
I'm just a little bit skeptical.
Skepticism is natural. But again, like, what are we going to choose to focus on? Reasons not to do it or reasons to do it?
I want to succeed. I know I have to find reasons to do it.
But why though?
Like, why do you want to succeed?
Why do you want to find reasons to do it?
Yeah, I just— my kids going to college, they need the money and I don't want them to go into student debt.
And that's real, man. So it just comes down to if we're looking for reasons to do this, we know we're going to find it, whatever it is that we're looking for. So it just comes down to for you, like what's actually holding you back from just taking the leap?
You can understand my point of view, man. It's a huge risk with what I have under my shoulders. So yeah, I just naturally feel this way. I don't know what to tell you.
Yeah.
And just doing anything new, right? If you've never done something before or it's a big investment, I don't want to say it's scary, but it's kind of—
it's kind of scary in a way.
Just like, you know, taking that leap. Like, wouldn't you agree? But what you're feeling right now, man, especially with this is something you haven't done before and we're looking for an outcome we've never gotten before. This is exactly how you're supposed to feel because who do you know who grows inside their comfort zone?
Nobody.
Yeah, exactly right. So if like, dude, you're sitting there cool as a cucumber, like, I would have to check your pulse. Okay. Is that means like we're not talking about anything important. The only thing we actually get to do with this feeling, because this feeling is not going to go away. Like, dude, you can look at a million different data points like this feeling is not going to disappear. The only thing we get to do with this feeling is we get to shape it because there's two things that can happen.
Number one, we can allow it to constrict us, and that's what most people do. And that's why most people are on the traditional path where they don't take those risks. Or option number two is we shape it. We shape it into taking massive action so that way you put some skin in the game and we can actually make this pay off. Which one would you rather do?
That second one you said.
Okay, why though?
I just have to make this work.
You don't have to do anything, man. Right? Like nobody's going to force you. But why do you actually want to shape it into taking action?
Again, I, I, I'm a father of 2 kids and I want to give them a future, man.
But I have to ask, what if you choose not to take the risk and we put them in that position just because of how we feel?
I don't know, they're not going to be able to support their own families, not going to be able to live a good lifestyle.
So the next step's pretty basic, man. We'll go ahead and take care of the investment, get you set up. Does that work?
