"I'm not getting scammed again" vs $8M closer

Christian Polk pitches an $8,000 coaching program to reach $20K monthly revenue. The prospect refuses, burned by a similar program before. Christian reframes the past failure as a learning opportunity and pushes the cost of waiting, but the prospect holds firm on wanting a guarantee.

Okay, so the investment to go ahead and get you to the point where you're making $20K per month is just going to be that $8,000 for 4 months.
No offense, man, I refuse to get scammed again. So could you have a guarantee I get a refund if somehow it just doesn't work?
We can talk about it, dude. But when you say like a guarantee, what's coming up for you that makes you feel like you need that?
I just don't know if you're scamming or not. Like, no offense.
I'm going to try not to take offense, but it's getting more and more offensive the more you say it. But like, what's coming up for you, man? Like, did you have like an experience before? Like, what makes you like so you feel like hesitant when you're talking about actually investing in yourself?
Look, I bought the exact same program like this. It's a coaching program, bro.
If it was the exact same thing, we wouldn't be talking right now. You'd have the result. But it comes down to, man, so you invested before, like, what type of results did you end up getting with that?
Nothing really changed. They didn't hop on the coaching calls. They didn't even respond to my messages. It sucked.
Can I share perspective on it?
Go ahead.
Because, like, ultimately, have you ever been out to a restaurant, like, not had the best experience?
Plenty of times, yeah.
Do you just stop going out to restaurants?
Of course not.
No, you just stop going out to that restaurant. Like, it's the same thing here, man. Like, yeah, you had a bad experience before, but is that bad experience going to stop you from investing in yourself and ultimately making the type of money we're looking to be making?
I'm going to try still.
Yeah, we're going to continue to try. So now we have to decide, like, what is that past experience going to be? Is it going to be an excuse that stops us from doing anything? Like, hey, I'm not going to invest again because these fuckers fucked me over. We could be that guy, and a lot of people are that guy. Or we can be the person like, hey, I got screwed over. I'm going to learn from that. And because I learned from that, I'm actually now in a better position to make a decision because I've learned from my past experience. Like, which person would you rather be?
I want to learn from it.
Everyone wants to learn from it. Everyone wants to grow. But the question I have to ask is, do you need to do that? Do you need to learn from it? You need to actually continue to grow.
I need to.
Ultimately, what type of decision do we need to make right now in terms of continuing to grow and continuing to invest in ourselves?
Yeah, it's tough what happened before, but you're right, it shouldn't stop me.
So I'll consider this. I'm glad you're considering it, but when it comes down to for you, man, what happens if we don't? If we keep on doing what we're doing now, we're always thinking about the past of like what happened before. We never actually invest in ourselves. Like, what's actually going to happen?
Just nothing changes.
And it's like some people are fine with nothing changing. So for you, what would be the actual like day-to-day if nothing changed for another like a month, 2 months, like 3 months down the line? Like, what does reality actually look like for you?
I'm not able to— my girlfriend, what she— we go shopping all the time. I want to buy her stuff. I can't afford it. It's not the life I want to give her when we're I'm gonna get married.
So what do we actually have to do then to make sure we can give her the life that she deserves?
I gotta do something about this. I gotta change.
Are we doing something about this next week, next month, or when is the best time to actually make that change?
It's now.
So the best time is now, bro. Like, what do we need to do to make sure we're doing everything in our power possible to become the person we need to be?
It's just gotta invest the money, man.
We'll get through it together, but is that something you're down for?
I'm down.
