In this short sales coaching call, Christian Polk presents a $12,000 program to a prospect (Speaker B) who expresses discomfort and fear about spending that amount. Polk probes the prospect’s underlying beliefs, highlighting that the objection stems from a limited self‑identity tied to current earnings. He reframes the decision as a choice between remaining the person who makes the same income versus stepping into a new identity capable of earning $20K per month. Using analogies (e.g., going to the gym to get in shape) and probing questions about the day‑to‑day impact of staying stagnant, Polk encourages the prospect to envision the future self, confront the fear of money, and commit to action. The conversation culminates in a direct ask: what must the prospect start doing now to make $12,000 feel like a manageable investment and to ensure a life of mediocrity is no longer acceptable.

It's going to be $12K.
If I could think about it really quick, that'd be appreciated.
What do you feel like you need to go over in your mind?
I'm not comfortable about making money, man. I think it's 3 months' worth of what I'm making now.
Isn't that part of the reason why you showed up? The fact that it is 3 months of what you're making now?
Yes, it is.
So if we just hold on to this level of thinking that, oh, this is 3 months of like what I'm making now and we're here to actually solve that problem, how is that level of thinking going to be able to actually get us to a point where we're making more income?
I don't know. I can't really give a good answer. Yeah, it's going to be tough, man.
Right. Because like, that's the level thinking that got us here. Because like, really, right now we're not talking about the program, whether to do it, whether or not do it. Like, we know the program works, we know it'll get you great results. Like, all we're really talking about right now is the type of person who we're going to be, because we really have two options. First option is we can be the type of person we have been, get same type of results, and this continue to be a lot of money towards you. Or we can step into the person who we really want to be, the person who can make $20K per month, and actually start taking actions like we are that person. Which person do you want to step into and start acting like right now?
Of course, take action. Well, you say of course, man, it's not so obvious, why would you want to take action? I always said I want to do it and I don't really do anything about it. You're right.
She said, oh man, I'm not, I'm not looking to be right. I'm looking to understand. So why would you say that you continue to tell yourself that you needed to do something and we just continue to not do anything? Like, what do you feel like is behind that?
Scary about the money.
I appreciate you being honest. Most people wouldn't even admit that fact, that it's just scary when it comes to the money. But when it comes down to, for you, if we want to be the person who's making $20K per month, do you think they view $12K the same way you're viewing $12K right now? Why not?
It makes a lot more money.
Of course they got that taken care of. So it just comes down to we don't, you know, lose a bunch of weight and start going to the gym. If we want to get into shape and start looking good, we have to start going to the gym right now. So what do you need to start doing right now in order to be the person where $12,000 isn't a lot of money to take a leap and have that much money?
Yes.
What if you never take a leap, bro? Like, what if you keep on just thinking the same way and viewing things the same way and things don't change? Some people are fine with that. Like, for you, like, be real with me, man. Like, what is the actual day-to-day impact of things not actually changing in your mind?
I don't think I'll live a good life. Everything will just be mediocre. I just feel like I won't fulfill my full potential. I just have to pick my life. I don't feel good talking about it.
So is that acceptable?
I'm not accepting that, no.
So what do we need to actually do to make sure that it's no longer acceptable and we actually get this thing taken care of?
