LIVE SALES CALL BREAKDOWN - Sales Coach Breaks Down Sales Call

Christian Polk reviews a sales call where the rep let the prospect ramble instead of probing into years of overwork and burnout. Polk shows how to interrupt gently, expand the pain, and use small commitments like deposits to move toward a close.
Alright, welcome back to my channel. So if you're having a hard time or you're struggling with asking the right questions, really being able to expand people's pain in your sales conversations, or you let people ramble too much so the sales conversations aren't really focused, then this call review, this breakdown I do I think will really help. Okay, so in this video what I'll be doing is reviewing one of my clients sales conversations where the main focus is going to be how to ask better questions but also how to keep somebody's focus on the things that are going to help them the most so they're not rambling and then going off into the weeds for things that don't help them and doesn't help us. So if you don't know who I am, my name is Christian Polk. So I've been in online sales for over four years. I've closed over $5 million in deals and for the past two years I've been with 7th Level and Jeremy Miner where I've also been a sales coach where I've helped thousands of clients ask better questions, overcome objections, get more deals, all that fun stuff. So a bit of context for this call review. So the sales call is for someone who is a performance coach so they help high achievers with stress, with focus so they can perform better in whatever they're looking to be doing. So hopefully you're able to apply the advice that I give and the call breakdown to exactly what you're doing to, to again get better at sales so you find some value in it. If you're needing anything specific or you want some additional help, I would say just go ahead and reach out to me on Facebook. My link is in the description but if not like subscribe all that fun stuff and I'll see you guys next time.
Get started.
Yes. Excited. Thanks for rescheduling with me too. Appreciate it.
Oh yeah, of course. I know things, things come up. So thank you.
Something you can always do is just like we'll forgive you this time. It's just an easy way to diffuse, add a bit of humor, get them laughing a little bit, you know, because it's always a little bit awkward at the beginning of a sales conversation.
You booked in some time today to discuss some possible outside help with like some trouble with mental clarity and self doubts. You can really kind of get back to like being a high achiever and enjoying your, your work and personal life.
Yes, absolutely. And like I think when I filled that out I was like feeling very rock bottom. But I had A really good week last week and started the week off strong this week. So that's. That's good as well. So that's certainly good to have a.
Better week like that. And when you saw the masterclass on how nervous system overactivation can really cause a lot of, like, stress and overwhelm and kind of cognitive changes, what was it there that really resonated with you that prompted you to take this next step and book in some time to talk today?
Yeah, I think I'm just trying different things right now just to be able, you know, Gosh, I feel like at 29, I should not be feeling burnout yet. Like, I feel like it's, like, way too early to feel like that. I think that's based on the memory issues. I know a lot of different things resonated with me, but as far as, like, specific bullets, I know it's like. I mean, I definitely relate to, like, the, oh, my gosh, am I losing my mind? And, you know, just overall, like, memory and, like, focus issues.
Okay, so she gave you a lot to.
I mean, I think that also might have to do with, like, my, like, fifth concussion happening. So it's like, maybe that also has to do with it.
So sounds like a few. A few different things resonated with you.
Yeah, absolutely.
And was there something specific in there that made you decide? Like, I want to kind of, like, take some next steps to maybe get some help or, like, talk further about that. When you saw.
I don't know if that question helps you, because, again, she. She did give some specifics. So then asking for, like, specifics again, I don't. I don't know what we'd really get out of that question.
Some of the things that did resonate with you?
Yeah, definitely. I think. Yeah, I think it. Dude, there's just, like, a lot of different points that were, like. It was like, oh, yep, that's me, that's me, that's me. I'm sorry. It was, like. It's been, like, two weeks since I watched it to be, like, specific, but there's just a lot of points in there.
You don't remember every detail of the whole masterclass. I would be very impressed if that was the case. Well, you know, everything you shared is totally normal. And unfortunately, burnout doesn't discriminate against age. It could be really, at any age. But really, the first part of our call is really just to get a better understanding of what really is coming up for you. What is the root cause of the symptoms? You're Noticing and then to see what you're currently doing now, what kind of results you're getting from that in terms of getting that clarity and confidence back really compared to the confidence, clarity and productivity you want and what needs to happen to kind of fill that gap. And then towards the end of our call, we can talk about some possible next steps that could be helpful for you. That sound good?
Perfect. And like, just so you know, I watched the masterclass, but I didn't really like look into like your program or what this could, you know, what this could all be. I don't think there was any type of link to like look further into it. So I don't know, like, this could be like therapy. This could be a pill. This could be, I have no idea like what those next steps could look like. So just so you know, I'm kind of like in the dark on that.
Yeah, that's really kind of what the, you know, the first part of our call is.
Just see, yeah, you can tell she's a bit anxious, like being on the call in general.
What might be helpful for you, whether that's. I think that I could possibly help you. And then we'll talk about what that would look like and what I would recommend. Sometimes I talk with people and there's something else that I think could be more helpful for them, just depending on what's going on. So we can certainly make sure to have some clarity on that towards the end.
Okay, perfect.
And so I know you mentioned a few different symptoms that you've been noticing and then you mentioned a few things in that assessment you completed. And just kind of like in a nutshell, if you were to say your top three things that are really kind of getting in the way the most that you really want to change or resolve, like, what would you say it would be like, 1, 2, 3.
Yeah. So I would say, well, I guess in my position, I just wear so many hats, so it's like I just need to be on my A game every moment of every day. I like, I need to be quick and not lose focus. I think that would be the number one thing.
So. So right now you're losing focus?
Yeah, I think I've never experienced self doubt in my entire life. Like, to be honest with you, like, I'm always like the most confident girl in the room. So it's super like. Yeah, not. It's just a new thing for me to feel that.
How long have you been feeling that for that?
As long. And when I'm winning, I got all, all the, you know, confidence in the world. But it's just like, gosh, just a lot of like things coming my way lately that it's like hard to keep up. So it's just, I think that kind of all came from that maybe the self doubt, so.
Self doubt. So like the like trouble focusing self doubt. It sounds like you're kind of your, your top concerns.
Yeah, I think also I put so much time into work, like I'll work like 60 plus hours a week, but then like my home life is just like in shatters. You know, it's just, yeah, it's like.
What do you mean by shatters?
You know, but I need to have that discipline and like, okay, you're clocking out at this time, like no matter what.
So right now she's giving you a lot of ends, but we're not taking any of them and just allowing her to just go on for extended period of times. And especially if she is a bit scattered herself, then her thoughts are going to be a bit scattered too. So what we need to do is, you know, be more in the conversation, interject a little bit more, get her to expand on a few things to start to direct the conversation. Because if it's a bit too scattered, then it's just going to be hard to dig deeper into some of these different things because she's giving you so.
Much things to do, like clock out. Like you can't, like there's no excuse not to like, like to have like a mountain of dishes, like, or like not do your skin care for a whole week and like. Yeah, so I think that's all discipline at the end of the day, so.
Well, how long has that stuff been going on for?
Well, you know, the, all the things you mentioned, you know, certainly, certainly go together when we're having trouble focusing and you know, that can certainly lead to some of that burnout when we're in that burnout state. You know, as easy as it might be to say, like, I just need discipline, unfortunately, it sounds like you're someone who probably has a lot of discipline. But you know, when we're unfocused and when we're burnt out, it can be really hard to do things that maybe seem, you know, kind of easy or small. And so, you know, those things certainly go together and I think also helps explain how you scored on your overdrive assessment. So thanks for completing that. This was basically looking at the degree of nervous system.
Yeah, I know you mentioned like whether to have this in the, like the first part or the second Part of the, of the conversation, I would say, like right here, because it seems like you're trying to, you know, just find it in, to go over the results. So you're not really in the conversation. Me personally, I would say it would probably sit better in the actual like in the end, in the presentation because then you're explaining to them like what their problems is and how specifically you solve each of those things. So I do know like you're gonna get into a bit of the logistical stuff like going over the results, but it logistically, it still does need to make sense of how you're actually gonna solve the problems. Because I feel like right here you start going into it like you had a lot of ends to then start digging into her situation, you know, what she might be doing to trying to relieve some of these different things. And we didn't take that in because it seems like we're just trying to get to this. And I think that might be where.
Some of the disconnect is from everything else. And so that's what I was kind of mentioning too. You know, willpower is, is, is hard when we're in that, in that state.
Yeah.
And so I guess for you, like, how long have you been like, like in that like over activated state, would you say?
I don't know, it got really bad this year. But yeah, it got really bad this year. But I would say like I've been like overworking myself for like a handful of years.
Oh, wow.
Like probably like three or so years I've been working like that many hours. So yeah, like there's a lot of things at play. Okay, well, I started taking thesis. I don't know if you've heard about thesis before. Okay, well, cool. It's like this nootropic thing and like, anyway, I felt fantastic on it like the past week. So I think I'm super excited about that.
So now some of the issue you're running into is like she saw this when she was at rock bottom. Now she's tried to do a couple of things that sound like they're band aid solutions, but in her mind, like it might be enough. So we need to start poking holes. Especially when we're talking about something like nootropics that I'm sure, you know, you're probably aware that they're gonna lose potency like over time. And then there she's probably gonna have to take that just to feel normal at some point. So it's not going to be that long term solution fix. So it's Going to be a bit of an uphill battle as far as like starting to poke holes in some of these things.
But yeah, I would say like a few years I've been kind of. It's so funny. It's like you would think that you would be. I would be killing it at work right now because it's like, okay, I'm putting most of my time towards work, so it's like, okay, I'm at least killing it in that. Right. But it's like, no, I'm not killing it in any part of my life because it's like, yeah, it's just silly. It's just there needs to be more balance.
Okay, so you're feeling like like the overworking in these past three years might be like contributing to some of that nervous system over activation is what you're saying.
Oh, totally. Yeah. It's not normal for someone to like.
So like we. So again we're trying to sum up her problems rather than digging deeper on their problems. When you say balance, like how do you mean? Like this, this and this. Like, because right now do you feel like you have that balance? Well, how long has that actually been going on for? Like what do you think actually might be causing you not to actually be able to have that balance and what is that actually leading to? So then we're able to actually dollar dive into the problems of her not having the balance. What's causing her not have a balance. What's that leading to? And then what impact is that actually having on her life rather than more.
Labeling it like work? And basically I've been working, falling asleep, waking up to work and it's just like. Yeah, it's just stupid.
And so besides that. I know you mentioned starting the nootropics this past week. What have you, what else have you been doing to really try to kind of get to the, the root of that nervous system over activation and bring down that like that poor focus and the overwhelm.
Yeah, well, for a long time I was working out three times a week. But gosh, these past couple months I have like not been to the gym. So like that, that like pisses me off. But, but I did go to once last week, once the week before that. So I'm like getting back into it.
So we're getting back.
But yeah, I think that's a huge thing is like, hey, when like you feel good, you know, going to the gym, like that's.
But she says she's. This has been going on for years. So if we like kind of Allow her to say, like, okay, well, that's me getting back to the gym. Like, it's definitely, like, helping, but it's not where she wants to be. So it's really about okay. But this has been going on for. For years. Or, like, even, like I said, when you were going three times a week. So what makes you feel like just, you know, going to the gym and how you've been approaching things the way you have been just hasn't been enough to get you to the point where you can actually have that balance or you to have that focus.
That'S.
We need to start pulling her along.
I would say that, you know, just taking all the vitamins and things every day, trying to get back into a skincare routine. My friends kind of make fun of me for it, you know, like, they do the skincare routine, like, day and night, but I'm like, okay, at least I did it once this week, you know, so. Okay, yeah.
So.
But I did do it last night and this morning.
So, again, like, we're allowing her to ramble. And every time she rambles, like, she'll dive into the pain, and then, like, her personality, she doesn't want to stay there, which is fair enough, because it's hurt. Like, it's painful. So then she keeps on justifying, like, oh, well, things are getting better, or things aren't as bad as they were two weeks ago, because. And then we're not taking the ends that she's giving us. We're not able to dive deeper into the pain and really start to flush all of that out and find out what the true impact of that is. Because this hasn't just been going on for the past two weeks. It's been going on for years. And if we allow her to treat this like this has been going on for the past couple weeks. Couple months. And now I'm getting back on the horse. Well, no, she's going back to how she was before, where she still wasn't performing the way that she. She wanted to. It is because this hasn't just been going on for the past two weeks. It's been going on for years. And if we allow her to treat this like this has been going on for the past couple weeks. Couple months. And now I'm getting back on the horse. Well, no, she's going back to how she was before, where she still wasn't performing the way that she. She wanted to.
This morning. So, yeah, those are the types of things I'm trying, so.
And how long.
This is a tricky prospect.
Your strategy, like that, combination of strategies.
For probably a couple of weeks and then a couple weeks before that, when I filled this out for you, was like, I felt like rock bottom this morning. So. Yeah, those are the types of things I'm trying, so.
And how long.
This is a tricky prospect.
Your strategy, like that combination of strategies.
For probably a couple of weeks, and then a couple weeks before that, when I filled this out for you was like, I felt like rock bottom.
Okay, and what was it like about those weeks that had you feeling like you were at rock bottom?
Yeah.
This is so embarrassing to say. Yeah, I, like, there was one day I just like cancel all my meetings and I just, you know, you know, like, something needs to change if like, you know, you get to that point. I was just like feeling really stressed that day and.
Yeah, take me through. Like, how do you. How do you mean?
Okay, and what was it like about those weeks that had you feeling like you were at rock bottom?
Yeah.
This is so embarrassing to say, but I specifically.
Feeling stressed. How often is like that happening where, like, you're feeling that stressed?
We need to clarify what she means by that first and then we can start to dig deeper into it. But first we need to clarify that way.
Yeah, I like, there was one day I just like cancel all my meetings and I just, you know. You know, like, something needs to change if, like.
Right.
You know, you get to that point. I was just like feeling really.
We get a more full picture of how she actually means.
That only happened. That happened twice in that two week period. That's never happened before and I am. That's never happening again. Like, that's completely. Yeah. Unacceptable. So.
Yeah.
Okay. And so the, the exercise and like.
The, the stress that day and.
Yeah, take me through. Like, how do you. How do you mean by that specifically?
Yeah, it's like that happening or like you're feeling that stressed.
We need to clarify what she means.
By that first skincare routine that you mentioned. The supplements, you've been doing it for the past few weeks is the first time that you've been doing any of those things or have you been trying them throughout this past year? Let's say that you've noticed things getting more difficult.
So it's funny. I think it's the consistency that's the issue. I'll do a little bit of each.
Part of that and then we can start to dig deeper into it. But first we need to clarify that.
Was like for a few weeks at a time, but then kind of fall back into not doing everything in the puzzle.
So what's causing you to drop?
What do you think? What do you think it is that makes it hard to be consistent with those things?
That's good.
I would say when, for example, I wasn't taking like these like nootropics that are really helping me focus, it was definitely I would find myself like working super late and like when you're working till midnight and like have meetings at 8am the next day, it's like you're not gonna do anything, you know what I mean? Like you're just gonna go straight to bed.
We get a more full picture of.
How she actually means that only happens. That happened twice in that two week period. That's never happened before and I am. That's never happening again. Like that's completely. Yeah, unexpected. Like you're exhausted so you're not gonna go to the gym, you're not gonna do your skincare routine. Like I just want to go to bed. So having that discipline to stop working but feeling good about what I did that day because like I don't want to stop if I feel like I didn't meet my goals for the day.
Right.
Okay.
Yeah. It all really stems too. So.
Okay. And so the, the exercise and like.
The this having the focus during the workday so I can feel good, stop my day, be a normal human for the rest of the day.
So what do you feel like was missing in the way that.
And when you were doing those things.
Consistently that was causing you not to have the focus throughout the day.
Feel like that they fully got on top of like the focus issues and the stress and self doubt in keratin that you mentioned the supplements like you've been doing it for the past few weeks is the first time that you've been doing any of those things or have you been trying them throughout this past year? Let's say that you've noticed things getting more difficult.
So it's funny, I think so she.
Just said that it hadn't and like she would fall into the pattern. So at that point we can just assume like what do you feel like was missing? And then that's going to get her to look internally and then if she, what I assume she's going to start.
Talking about is like it's the consistency that's the issue.
It's like I'll do like a little.
Bit of, you know, each part of.
That, the nootropics and supplements and different things along those lines. So now we need to start poking holes in that specifically. Oh.
Yeah, I think yes, absolutely. I think that there is no self doubt like when I'm like I said, like when I'm winning and feeling hustle, like for a few weeks at a time, but then kind of fall back into not doing everything in the puzzle.
So what's, what's causing you to drop?
Like I and just like being my full potential. But I just feel like when I'm feel like I'm not meeting any of my goals because I'm too stressed and it's just like kind of a domino effect, if you will.
Okay. And so I guess like for you, like what do you feel may be, you know, in terms of like the, like the exercise and you know, the supplements and some of the other things that, you know, what do you think it is that makes it hard to be consistent with, with those things that's good. I would say mention like what's causing you to feel like maybe just like doing more like those things might not be enough to really like help you to resolve these issues more consistently.
I mean, potentially, potentially it is enough. I just haven't like done the full package long enough.
And see this is, this is why again, if we let them ramble and them talk themselves out of the amount of pain they're actually in, because people will do this if we allow them rample, they'll be like, oh yeah, like bad here, bad here. But you know, it's really not that bad. Right. Like if I just do this.
When for example, I wasn't taking like these like nootropics that are really helping me focus, it was definitely, I would find myself like working super late. And like when you're working till midnight and like have meetings at 8am the next day, it's like you're not gonna do anything. You know what I mean? Like you're just gonna go straight to bed. Like you're exhausted, so you're not gonna go to the gym, you're not gonna do your skincare routine. Like I just want to go to bed. So having that discipline to stop working, but feeling good about what I did that day because like I don't want to stop if I feel like I didn't meet my goals for the day.
Right.
Okay.
Yeah. It all really stems to having the focus during the workday so I can feel good, stop my day, be a normal human for the rest of the day.
So what do you feel like was missing in the way that.
And when you were doing those things.
Consistently that was causing you not to have the focus throughout the day.
Feel like that they fully got on top of like the focus issues and the, the stress and self doubt.
So she just said that it hadn't and like she would fall into the pattern. So at that point we can just assume like what do you feel like was missing and then that's going to get her to look internally and then if she, what I assume she's going to start talking about is like the nootropics and supplements and different things along those lines. So now we need to start poking holes in that specifically.
Yeah, I think, yes, absolutely. I think that there is no self doubt like when I'm like I said like when I'm winning and feeling like I am just like being my full potential, but I just feel like when I'm feel like I'm not meeting any of my goals because I'm too stressed and it's just like kind of a domino effect, if you will.
Okay. And so I guess like for you, like what do you feel might be, you know, in terms of like the, like the exercise and you know, the supplements and some of the other things that you mentioned, like what's causing you to feel like maybe just like doing more of like those things might not be enough to really like help you to resolve these issues more consistently.
I mean potentially, potentially it is enough. I just haven't like done the full package long enough.
And see this is, this is why again, if we let them ramble and then talk themselves out of the amount of pain they're actually in, because people will do this, we allow them rample, they'll be like, oh yeah, like bad here, bad here. But you know, it's really not that bad. Right? Like if I just do this, if I just do that. So that's why we want to be a little bit more directed, really get them to be more open about their pain and start to direct the conversation more. And because we let them to ramble and then tell themselves it's not that bad. Now we're at this point to where it's like, well if I just did this and I, I would. But like we both know if this has been going on for years and she's never got this under control and it's only gotten worse and she was already doing that routine. If she keeps on doing the same, she might get back to how she was before, but she still wasn't at her full potential. But more likely than not, just because like the problem has been getting worse over time it might get slightly better, but like over time it's probably just gonna Continue to get worse. But we need to get them to see that and them to actually own that problem. Cause, like, right now we're 15 minutes in, okay. And we're still trying to find our way through problem awareness. And it's just because we haven't probed enough, we haven't directed enough of the conversation to dig deeper into that pain and then get them to actually own those problems.
That.
Yet. Yeah, I. And potentially, like, maybe these nootropics are, like, what I need in order to, you know, be this, you know, more focused person that I want to be and therefore, you know, clock out at a reasonable hour.
Okay.
So, yeah, like, potentially it is, but I just. I don't know yet because I haven't been doing it long enough because I just found, for example, these nootropics. I'm actually shocked, like, how well they work.
So what are you. What are you finding? They're. They're helping with specifically.
So it's trap. I think so.
So I wouldn't go down too much on, like, what they're helping with because, again, like, that's not going to help you much. So she's just going to continue to tell herself, like, why these are good and why they're enough. But we need to debunk that now. Again, you're going to know the science more than I know the science, but just really explaining in a way, either through, like, a story or you, like, going over different things of, like, how you can really. They can really start to understand that that's more of a band aid solution. It doesn't actually solve the problem. Because if she thinks that this band aid solution is all she needs, then why would she try to solve the full problem? She's not going to. Right. So if we get her, we're getting her to double down more on, like, why these would actually work for her on the other end. We need to debunk that.
Oh, you know, as a leader of the org, it's like, in order to like, bring, you know, you know, and.
If there are certain things like this that you run into quite frequently, it's probably good to have some pretty, like, canned responses to each one of those, whether it be, like, nootropics, whatever it is that people have tried. And, like, they might work for a short period of time, like a week, a month, but it's like, if you're. But you're going to take this nootropic for the rest of your life, probably not. Right. So it's a band aid solution.
Inspiration and Joy to every meeting and, like, really, like, kind of create that atmosphere that I want to create. I felt like I, like, my mood's been up. Yeah. It's like, hard to explain. It's like. But then also I've been able to speak with clarity instead of. I don't know. I feel like those two weeks that I'm referring to, it's just like, I just did not. I feel like people could tell my burnout. Right. It's like no one is inspired by that. So.
But again, we're still just focusing on these two weeks where this has been a year's problem that just has been getting worse.
And so do you. Is there something that you feel like the nootropics, like, aren't giving you, where are not going to fully kind of resolve the issues that you're noticing?
I'm sorry, I'm just not sure yet. I don't know at this point because it's like, like my, like home to do list is like, you know, catastrophic, you know, and like, financial to do list. It's like, oh, my gosh. I don't know. That's. That's why I just filled out the questionnaire and I was like, hey, let's see what.
So again, even with the band Aid solution, she's still not getting her, like, she's like, doing better at work, but home's still a mess, financial still a mess. So that's where we really need to hop on that. Magnify that. What's the actual pain and problems with that? How long that's been going on? What's that actually leading to? How does she actually feel knowing she goes at home, she has this long list of things to do, but she doesn't have the energy of focus to get any of the it done.
Sorry if I'm giving you gray area answers.
Well, sometimes it's hard to, you know, know the answers to some of these things. That's why, you know, a lot of people come on, on the calls to see what can be, you know, helpful for them. And so I guess, you know, you know, for you, like, noticing in this past year that like, like, maybe the burnouts are getting, you know, kind of worse and you're having some of the trouble with focus and. And maybe know, self doubt. Like what? Like, what's the main way that you would say that that's impacting you or showing up for you?
The main way the burnout is impacting me. Yeah. Again, I just think it's like the balance there. It's like like working until midnight four nights a week is just like. And then still feeling like I'm not where I need to be is like.
How do you mean not where?
Like, life is. Like life is too short. Like I need to. I know I need to change my life. I've been saying that to my friends for so long that I was gonna like do this work, life balance thing.
Yeah.
But then they're like, yeah, yeah, okay in that for like three years. So I'm just like, okay, Like I know something needs to change. I would say that that's the number one way that it's showing up is like I wanna feel good after a 9 to 5, like other people do. Yeah. You know, like I spent every hour like killing it, meeting my goals and then I can make dinner or go work out or like, you know, just be a normal human. So.
Well, it's like even.
Even with me.
Like, what are you feeling?
Situation. And you're working until midnight, you said. Or is. Are you feeling like you're accomplishing the things you want to do, working that later? Is it still not feeling like it's what you're wanting?
Yes and no. Like sometimes yes and sometimes no.
Because there's also a lot of, A lot of pain that we still haven't dived into as far as at home financial. All these different things. Balance, those are, those are key things that they keep. You know, she keeps bringing up. We haven't really explored that much and we just keep. Keep on going back to the work where she keeps on kind of diffusing a bit that the nootropics are helping, the workout's helping. Well, if it's been helping for the past two weeks, like, why does she still have a long to do list at home? So it might be helping with the work a bit. But then when she goes home, like, why can't she do anything? Why is she still taking till midnight to get things done? She's been telling her friends for the past three years that she going to get more balance in her life, but she's done nothing about it. So that's really where we need to start to take this conversation and get more leverage there.
Or it's just like, okay, like, I only have like a couple goals today, this shouldn't take me so long to complete. So just shows kind of the unfocused issue.
Okay.
Yeah, it's like, just sit down again. It's like allowing her to ramble, you know, just sit down and do the thing. You know, it's just, it shouldn't be so hard. Get the motivation, focus.
And what. So what does happen, like, when you're like, just sit down and do the thing. Besides not being able to focus, like, what else do you feel is preventing you from, like, doing. Doing that in the time frame you'd like?
So I do. Okay, so definitely after my fifth concussion a year ago, I think that sometimes I have to read the same thing, like, five times to. And I'll realize I just read that five times and I'm like, oh, my gosh. Like, that's freaky.
Yeah.
Yeah, just to retain it. To retain. Read it over and over. Like, that's one of the things.
Okay.
And that's a, like, ask it like a potentially maybe obvious question. But when you notice, like, you're having to reread things or the focus just isn't there, like, how. How does that make you feel usually?
Yeah, just shitty. I feel like. Yeah, it, like, makes me scared because it's like, oh, my gosh, like, what's wrong with my brain? Yeah, definitely doesn't feel good. So.
And just, you know, make sure that I'm really understanding kind of like the. The full picture, you know, besides not wanting to, like, have this kind of, like, doubt and you kind of, like, trouble with focus and burnout get in the way of you, like, achieving in the way you'd like and getting that time back. Like, what. What's your main reason now for looking for some possible outside help rather than maybe like, just like, trying to use, like, the nootropics or like, doing some of the other things you mentioned, like, trying to do them more consistently.
What's my main reason? My main reason? Well, because I think I used to have a lot more time for friends and family and just, like, show up more for, like, people in my life, but also myself, you know, like, and I feel like I've just. Because I haven't been fulfilled at work, it's like, leading into. Yeah. Then I just overwork myself because I at least want to get that right.
How long has it been leading?
And then that bleeds into the rest.
Of the relationship.
If that makes sense.
Yeah, I mean, that makes. Makes a lot of sense. Like how you mentioned for you, like, used to kind of, like, exercise a bit more. Like, what. What are you seeing happening?
So there's some. Some really big pain points. It sounds like her biggest pain point. What I would see is, yes, she wants to kill it at work and be more focused, but her biggest thing is she has no balance in her life. She probably Wants to, you know, have relationships with her family, friends, everything like that. Maybe even a dating life. We don't know. But she has none of that and she just has work. And she's been telling her friends for three years that she needs balance. So it's not a couple month, a couple week problem. This is a three year problem that she's had. And because we haven't really dove into it, addressed it, probably her biggest pain point is just kind of. She's hinting at it, but it's not fully fleshed out.
Meaning in your relationships as a result of, like, overworking because of some of these issues.
Well, I mean, so if I'm working super late, for example, like on a Monday through Thursday, then it's like, you know, for different friends and family, I'm like, oh, okay. Like, you know, I have availability a month from now, you know, and it's just like. Or like canceling plans.
How often are you.
Yeah, it's just like, that's like, there's 24 hours a day. At the end of the day, this is all about time management and, you know, just like, I should be able to like, have like dinner or something with a friend or something after work instead of just working through dinner.
How long has that been going on for?
Silly. It's like, I need to get this right because, like, I owe myself, like, to have like, the best, you know, just like happy life and not just like, throw my. Myself away because of work.
Did you say drill yourself away? I'm sorry, I had ch.
Or throw. Throw myself away? Do the work.
Is that what it's. It's feeling like now?
Yeah, definitely. But it's like, I love, I love my job. I love, like, like, it's just a matter of kind of.
So again, she, she, like, once we're starting to get to the thing because we're allowing her to, to go on for. For too long, like, she'll. She'll get to the pain and she wants to take herself out of it because it's uncomfortable. So we need to be a little bit more in the conversation and, and.
Direct it better, setting those boundaries and having more of a healthy relationship with it. But I think it all stems from. I'd have a healthier relationship if I, like, if my hours spent working, we're just maximized more.
Mm.
Yeah.
I think that that makes a, you know, a lot of. A lot of sense, especially if a lot of time. That time is like unfocused or, you know, you're noticing that it's Taking you longer than, than you'd like. And before you and I were talking today, were you out there looking for some professional help to really help you get on top of, like, that, that burnout and, and stress? So you can really be able to kind of like, establish that, that work, life, balance or, like, what have you been doing about this?
No, really, just.
Why not?
Like I said, I actually did my skin care yesterday and today, you know, I feel like I had a great day today. Again, like, using these nootropics.
So again, like, she's three years into this. She really hasn't done anything but Band Aid solutions. So this is going to be a bit of an uphill battle as far as getting her to actually own it and changing her mentality around this problem.
But no, I have not been looking into any type of professional help.
So what's, what's prevented you in the past?
Showed up on my Instagram and so I, you know, tried out the quiz, and here we are.
And so for you, like, what do you feel is prevented you from looking for some professional help? If you. Especially, like, in this past year when you. You've been noticing some of these things get worse.
So again, like she said, like, she's been wanting balance for the past three years and hasn't had it now, again, we didn't dive deeper into it, and we definitely should have. But then what that'll allow you to do is instead of us talking about not doing anything one year or this past six months or this past two months, why haven't you done anything for three years? You knowing you have a problem, you telling people you're going to change, but you've done nothing about it?
Not sure. I think.
Well, if you're really.
I think it's just a matter of hitting rock. Like, when I finally hit rock bottom, I was like, okay, like, get your shit together.
So why do you feel like that?
Kind of like that time you told me about more recently, like a few weeks ago.
Yeah.
And so that's the time you decided, like, you were wanting to, to get some help?
Yeah.
Okay. And. And besides, you know, like, obviously just hitting, hitting rock bottom, like, was there something specific about that that made you decide, like, I need some, like, outside help with this rather than like, just, you know, my internal kind of coping tools I've been using.
Yeah, I'm not. Yeah, maybe repeat the question. I'm not.
Well, I guess, like what? You know, rock bottom, of course, can mean different things to different people and, you know, just your own rock bottom that you described to me, like, what, what was it about hitting that though that made you decide? Like, okay, I'm gonna like, I want some professional help for this rather than.
Why do you feel like he needed to hit rock bottom like this? Like, I don't know things along those lines. Well, where do you, like, where do you feel like that feeling actually comes from? Like, knowing you, you've been in frustration and stress this past three years, but really not doing much, much about it. So again, like this three years of inaction, like what. Why did she have to hit rock bottom in order for her to actually do something about this? Because right now she says she hit rock bottom and then she had a little bump up, so now she's no longer at rock bottom. So is she going to fall into the same trap if it's not addressed? Probably right. So we really need to address it because it's the mentality of this pain has been going on for three years. Why did it take you having to hit rock bottom in order for you to reach out? And do you feel like that's part of the reason we're in the spot we're in now? Like, are you okay with me saying that then? How are we actually going to overcome that way of thinking to where we don't have to hit rock bottom to make sure we do get the help we need? I mean, are you sure? Because you don't have to. What if you don't? What if you have to keep on hitting rock bottom to make any type of real changes, what's gonna happen then.
Move them along and then like maybe trying to figure out other things that could help me with it.
Yeah, I mean I definitely felt like, well, this just can't continue. Like it was embarrassed and like, yeah, I didn't. Yeah, this just needed to take a turn. So.
Okay, that was kind of the point for you.
Yeah.
And, and just see like, you know, if what we're, what we're doing here might be helpful, you know, for you as well, if you were to think about like, let's say we were like to map out kind of like a checklist of things that you felt you would really need and to get on top of the burnout in terms of like a plan, kind of like resources and tools that you feel would be helpful for you or the level, kind of like coaching and guidance to really, you know, get good results. Like what do you feel you would really need to be able to like, really get back to like that confident, high achieving self that you mentioned?
What I Need, it might be really beneficial as well to understand when she was actually at that point, because she hasn't been at that point for three years. Then it's. It's more like understanding where is she trying to get back to, or is she trying to reach a level which she's never been before? So it'll probably give you a little bit better insight and you could be a little bit more specific with some of these questions.
I mean, it would be nice, like, again, like, I don't know, like, anything about kind of like, what you offer, to be totally honest with you.
Yeah.
I think, like, to continue on these nootropics, you know, to have some sort of checklist, which I've tried to start using in terms of, like, hey, these are the things you should do every day to, like, be like a. A full human or to be like, the best person you can be, even if it is just V1. And I guess that kind of keeps me accountable. But then I started that checklist at the beginning of the year. I was doing really good in January and February, but then I just tanked in March and April. So a little bit more than just keeping myself accountable, maybe, like, account of accountability, buddy, or something. I don't know.
Mm. I think, you know, for most people making any kind of significant change, that's certainly, you know, important. And if you were to think about, you know, like, what accountability specifically would be helpful for you, like, what does that look like for you that you feel would really help you to, like, get consistent results and really be able to get on top of the burnout.
What would really help there?
Yeah, that question was a bit. Bit confusing, but, like, what. What does accountability actually look like for you? So you can. You can get those results? Okay. Like, are you actually open to being held accountable? Because I know some people are. Like, why? Why would you be open to that?
Like, accountability can mean, like, different things to different people. You know, for some people, it might be like, I want someone who is going to kind of check in with me, you know, week to week, to make sure, you know, I'm on track with. With a plan or someone who, you know, I can message if I'm having trouble being accountable. I need that extra support. Like, those are just some examples. But, like, what. Like, what does accountability mean. Mean to you?
Okay. Okay. So I would say even just someone to check with on. Check in with on a periodic basis, whether that's weekly, whether that's daily, whether that's twice a week.
Okay.
Why would that be important to you.
You know, because then, you know, if I'm about to go to bed without doing the skin care, it's like, okay, I don't want to report at that time to like, you know, that I didn't do it at all this week. So, you know, and maybe that's a friend. Yeah. I don't know. Right.
It's just so new situation again, since we're so like leaned out, not as in the conversation or on top of the conversation, like we're, we're getting good headway and then she takes herself out of it. So again, it's the same issue continuing to come up. She's like, oh, yeah, check in with someone, do things like that, which plays into what you do. But maybe that's a friend. Right. So just make sure we're in, we're more in the conversation, we're directing the conversation better. Oh, like, why is that important to you? Yeah, accountability is kind of, It's a, It's a funny thing because, you know, some people are definitely, for. Some people are, you know, definitely not. They're not really on board with it. So for you, like, are you actually open to being held accountable? Like, why is that? Yeah, because I, Because I would say, like, as coaches, it's really like, you know, our job to tell you what you need to hear, not always tell you what you want to hear. So I just want to make sure we're on the same, we're on the same boat. Then that gives you a little bit more license to smack them around a bit if you need to. Like, that first coaching session is going to be the sales call, especially at this point. But we just need to be more on top of it, guide them better, pull out more of the problems, probe on some of these different things, which will just allow that gap in their mind to expand. Because this lady's in a lot of.
Pain, but she doesn't want, you know, having accountability helpful. And you know, a lot of times when people are on these calls, they'll say things like, you know, I really want, like a step by step process that I can follow that's really going to help me, let's say, like, get to the root of the issue. And that's custom to me and my situation. Others people say, like, I really want that accountability, that regular kind of coaching support.
And, and this is what we were talking about. Like, how do we incept some ideas into their mind? Okay, so do you feel like if we just gave you like a basic plan, you know, PDF to follow, we turn you around since you on your and you'd be good or do you feel like, you know, maybe stack to sit down with someone, customize it to exactly what your needs and what your body needs. That way like again, you can get the results quicker. Like what do you feel like you would need? Right? Something like that. Do you feel like if we just sent you off with a PDF like you'd be good to go or do you might need someone to sit down, make sure we actually customize to what your body needs, your schedule, things like that. Like which one? Oh, the customization. Why do you feel like having somebody there to help you customize it would be important to you get them to buy into the idea more. Right.
And guidance. Some people say, like I really need help with mindset to be able to be, you know, more consistent in my day to day and get that work life balance. Does any of that kind of resonate with you or something you feel would be helpful for you?
Yeah, I think, I think probably the first of the three that you mentioned as far as like, yeah, I think it is hard to say, like what will work. I think I do like have the right mindset, right? Like I, I feel like I usually am an overachiever, but I just feel like I'm starting to decline and I just.
But she's had this problem for three years and done nothing about it or nothing like serious about it to solve this problem problem. So again, if we had let her off the hook in the solution awareness of like why she hasn't done anything in the past, even though she's been in pain for the past three years, why did it take her getting to rock bottom to even reach out to anybody? Like, is that thought process worth keeping? What does that thought process cost her? You can go down that route too, because there's a couple different ways you can go about actually, you know, attacking the belief, right? It's like where did like, you know, you being in pain for the past, you know, three years but having to. What does that thought process cost her? You can go down that route too, because there's a couple different ways you can go about actually, you know, attacking the belief, right? It's like where did like, you know, you being in pain for the past, you know, three years but having to hit rock bottom to actually reach out to anyone, where do you feel like that that comes from? Hit rock bottom to actually reach out to anyone, where do you feel like that that comes from in the, in the past three years, like knowing, you know, you've been in pain, haven't had the focus or that balance that you need. Like how much do you feel like that's actually cost you? Or what do you feel like that's cost you? So is that worth keeping moving forward? Like, why, why isn't it? Because what would happen if you, if you do hold on to that belief that you have to hit rock bottom to make any type of real changes? Is that the person you want to be.
Breaking me out? You know, like, I should be like, if, like almost to, you know, reaching my full potential, not declining at this point. So it's just like, you know, maybe that's a step by step process, maybe that's a checklist, maybe that's, you know, different seminars to watch. I'm kind of open to anything.
So, you know, I think that openness is certainly a, a strength to see, you know, what, what can be helpful. And let's say that like, you know, let's say we were able to come in and really give you like that step by step guidance. You knew exactly what to do to really get to the root of the issue. You had that accountability, someone to check in to make sure these things are working for you and that, you know, you're doing them. And let's say that you were really able to kind of lift some of that self doubt. You were feeling less stressed, you're able to focus better. Like, what do you see being like, really, really different in your, your life?
I see it as having more time for friends and family, having more time for like me on a daily basis.
So for, for specifically what you do before I go into like, what that would do for them, I would probably want to get a little bit more of a clearer picture of what success actually looks like for them. So it's like, okay, so let's say like we're able to give you that, that blueprint. We're able to get the focus, really leave, alleviate the stress, like really be on point with work, have that balance. What does success actually look like for you? Like, what are you really trying to achieve here? Oh, this, this and this. Okay, maybe probe into it a little bit. Oh, how do you mean by this? How do you mean by that? Okay, so you being able to, to be that person who can do this, this and that, like what, what real difference do you feel like that actually make for you? Like, how do you mean? Right. So then it makes the future pacing questions a lot more real.
And then also, yeah, just feeling like my org is pushing forward because I'm meeting My goals and inspiring others to also meet their goals.
Okay. And like, what would you be doing with friends and family or like even with, with yourself?
I mean, dinner, workout classes, hikes.
Why that stuff?
Seeing each other, going out for drinks, you know, whatever. It may be.
So fun stuff.
Yeah, yeah.
And with this, if we stay very much like same position, tonality stays very the same and there's no shift, it's hard to shift their emotions as well because when they're talking about something that is important to them or future pacing, we really want to get them to open up. Typically what I'm going to do is I'm going to lean in a bit. Just be very light, be very curious and be excited that we're talking about this stuff that's important to them. Oh, like how do you mean? Oh, why do that stuff? Ah, because. Right. So then they're going to start to feel a lot more comfortable and start being more open on those certain topics. But if we stay a little bit more like back into the side the entire time and there's no shift, like maybe at the beginning it's not too bad. When you start getting to the problems, I definitely like, like I'll try to face up a little bit more. But then when they're talking about stuff that's like important to them, like I would lean in. Oh, like how do you mean? Like, why that. Okay, so you, you actually been able to I guess, like go get some dinner and like really start prioritizing your, like your health, your relationship. Like what would that, like what would that actually do for you personally? Oh, like, right. Like that's how you're really gonna get those emotions out of her, all the.
Good stuff and you being able to like push your organization further. Like what, what would that look like? Like what would be different there?
Yeah, so. So I am 1.5 FTE currently or full time staff across my nonprofit. So it's just like I can't wait to have more staff. It's bringing in the revenue to bring in more staff. That's what that would look like.
So you've been able to take a step.
I've actually had like months where I couldn't. I wasn't paid because I just wasn't bringing in the revenue. And so that's really tough.
I could be trouble for sure.
Yeah. The revenue and then the staff to be able to fulfill our mission.
Okay. And just to make sure, because I'm not totally familiar with, with your role. So you being able to like be like kind of like More on top of these things and move the organization further. Bringing in more revenue would then allow you to hire more staff and therefore have more revenue. Did I understand that? Right.
Okay, got it. Okay.
And so you. You being able to, like, take that next step in your organization, see that happening, the revenue increasing, being paid, you know, more. More consistently bringing in new staff, and also, like, really having that time. Time for your personal life, your family, your friends. Like, what, like, what would that mean for you, like, on a personal level?
I think, yeah, I would just, like, feel a lot more fulfilled and feel really good when I wake up every day. Not like I'm always trying to catch up.
Oh, catch up.
Yeah. Then also, I think it would like, finally put me in a place where I, like, be in the right mindset for, like, a partner, you know, like a romantic partner and things. It's like, no one wants to be with someone that, like, works till midnight every night. And, you know, so I want to, of course, if I want to attract, like, be the person you want to attract. Right. It's like. And I don't know, I wouldn't date me right now.
But that's something like you're wanting for yourself when you feel like you're kind of in that. In that space.
Yeah, definitely.
How long have you been feeling that way?
Best version of myself, of course. First.
And I guess, like, like on. On the flip side, though, like, what. What would happen if, like, you don't take action on this?
Okay, so it's like, we. We need to flesh a lot of that out, right? Because she just lets you in on a really big pain point that she doesn't even look for a partner right now. And she wants to, but she doesn't. So it's like, how long has that actually been going on for? What's that, like, what's that doing to you, really? I guess blocking that side of yourself off, like, really start to flesh that out. And then when you're going into the consequence, I would ask another question instead of one. The flip side, I'll go, okay, but with what you currently have right now, or with what you're currently doing right now and the support and the accountability you do have, if nothing does change, how likely is it that you're going to be able to get to the point where you actually have balance in your life and you're able to start to, you know, have those relationships and, you know, God forbid, start to date? Oh, there's no chance. What happens if that continues? 3 months, 6 months, like 12 months? Go by, stress gets worse and we still don't have that balance cooked.
This and like the burnout continues. You know, things in the organization continue to not be at the level you're at and like your, your personal life and kind of like relationships continue to not get the, the time and energy. Like what, what would happen then?
Well, I would continue to work late all the time and just not.
Yeah.
Yeah, I just think like I'd continue to be a workaholic and just forevermore and that would just be my story, you know.
So do you want that to be.
Your story a lot more to life so.
Well, no, no, of course. If you really think about it, say a year goes by and that still is your story. What would be the day to day impact of that continuing to happen? So we need to take it deeper. Just like a couple layers for you.
Like now though to take action on this rather than maybe like putting it off to like a different time.
Well, I mean I can't keep getting deferred payments at work. Like you know, like that just can't happen anymore. I want to get in a better financial position, you know, not only be like working on my work, it's a non profit. Like I'm never gonna like be rich, right? But it's like at least you know, have the non profit but even have some side hustle like you know, I think could definitely be doable.
Maybe like putting it off to like a different time.
Well, I mean I can't keep getting deferred payments at work. Like you know, like that just can't happen anymore. I want to get in a better financial position, you know, not only be like working on my work, it's a non profit. Like I'm never gonna like be rich, right? But it's like, you know, I save $0 every month like, like point blank. So it's like that would be really awesome. But I, I don't have the side hustle because I'm too busy working. At least you know, have the non profit but even have some side hustle like you know, I think could definitely be doable.
So again you also start need to start understanding like her language. And this is something to keep be aware of.
You know, I save $0 every month like, like point blank. So it's like that would be really awesome. But I, I don't have the side hustle because I'm too busy working of the entire time.
And the quicker you fix it, the like the more real the conversation becomes. Things like that would be awesome. Yeah, I'D want that. It's all like wishful thinking. It's not oh I need to change. So again you also start, need to start understanding like her language and this is something to keep be aware of the entire time and the quicker you fix it, the quicker like the more real the conversation becomes. Things like that would be awesome. Yeah, I would want that. It's all like wishful thinking. It's not oh I need to change.
Be like putting it off to like a different time.
Well I mean I can't keep getting deferred payments at work. Like you know like that just can't happen anymore. I want to get in a better financial position. You know, not only be like working on my work, it's a non profit. Like I'm never going to like be rich, right? But it's like.
So like I would just address. Well it's not like what would be awesome, it's it's really what we, what we need to do. You know what I'm saying? Because like those are two different things. Can you see the difference there? So like what do you, what do you need to do? And the earlier on you, you pick up on that and you address it the more real the conversation. So like I would just address. Well it's not like what would be awesome. It's, it's really what we, what we need to do. You know what I'm saying? Because like those are two different things. Can you see the difference there? So like what do you, what do you need to do? And the earlier on you, you pick up on that and you address it the more real the conversations are going to be and it's not, that's not really what you, what you want to do. Because most people don't get like what want is something you'll do if it's convenient. But when we're making a big change in life, is it oftentimes is it convenient? So are you willing are going to be and it's not, it's not really what you, what you want to do because most people don't get like what.
At least you know have the non profit but even have some side hustle like you know, I think could definitely be doable. You know I save $0 every month like like point blank. So it's like that would be really awesome but I don't have the side hustle because I'm too busy working willing.
To change that want into a need. Why? Okay, so understanding some of the different language things but I feel like if we would have Dove a lot deeper into her pain, then we probably wouldn't have be dealing with some of this wishy washy stuff at the end.
Way too many hours for my nonprofit.
Okay, but that's something you're, you're wanting.
Yeah.
So time for a change. Possibly.
I mean, I 100% want to stick with the nonprofit, like I. A thousand percent, but I just want a healthier relationship with it.
Sorry, I meant like time for like a change, like in your internal.
So again, you also start. Need to start understanding, like her language. And this is something to keep be aware of the entire time. And the quicker you fix it, the, like, the more real the conversation becomes world.
I mean, so you can have those things.
Things like that would be awesome. Yeah, I'd want that. It's all like wishful thinking. It's not. Oh, I need to change.
I'm. Well, you know, I appreciate you. You're sharing this information with me. I know it's not the easiest or kind of most exciting fun topic to, to talk about, but it does help me just to get an understanding of your situation and, and you know, what could be helpful for you and, and really everything that you've shared.
Okay, I'll. I'll skip over the, the presentation, but just some key things. Hopefully I wasn't too harsh or anything. Right. But some key things is if you let people ramble, especially if they're talkers. Then again, we're going to dive into some things that aren't going to help us make sure we're a little bit more in the conversation, probing better, expanding on certain issues, diving deeper into the actual emotion. Like this woman should have been bawling in this conversation because there's a couple of times like, like at the beginning of the conversation when she was starting to talk about the pain, like you could tell, like the emotion was bubbling up, but we, we didn't really. So like, I would just. Well, it's not like what would be awesome. It's. It's really what we, what we need to do. You know what I'm saying? Because like, those are two different things. Can you see the difference there? So like, what, what do you, what do you need to do? And the earlier on you, you pick up on that and you address it, the more real the conversation dive beneath the surface. So we weren't able to get her to that point, but like, this girl, she should have cried. Okay. And she needs to feel that emotion because again, it's three years of inaction, not having a social life, not making Money, some months, but still working 60 hours a week. Like she needs to feel that pain to change. So there's just a couple key things I feel like if you really tighten up and that's in specifically in problem awareness. I know we've talked about that quite a bit. That you're going to be able to get to the pain a lot quicker, be able to dive a lot deeper into it, and then be able to have a more directed conversation specifically on why they haven't done anything in the past and then get a better future pace and consequence out of her. But let me go ahead and skip a little forward.
Well then, yeah, if you could send me the information for the monthly. But then also, yeah, any type of like, like I said, funding is or.
Conditions are going to be. It's not, it's not really what you, what you want to do because most people don't get like what their wants are. They get what they need. Because can you, can you understand the difference there? Like a want is something you'll do if it's convenient, but when we're making a big change in life, is it oftentimes, is it convenient? So are you willing?
Is always a challenge. So, okay, you know, whatever that could look like.
Willing to change that want into a need. Why? Okay, so understanding some of the different language things. But so like right now she said it's a challenge, so I would at least dive into money a bit. When you say it's a challenge, like how do you mean? Oh, this or this or that. Like she mentioned like someone she don't get paid wild. Well, it's like, well, if you just had like, you know, a duffel bag full of cash, it's like good to go. Like, would you do it? Like why, why would you do it though? Why actually invest in yourself so that way again, like you could have that focus and you can actually start making more money. I feel like if we would have dove a lot deeper into her pain, then we probably wouldn't have been be dealing with some of this wishy washy stuff at the end.
Way too many hours for my nonprofit.
Okay, but that's something you're, you're wanting.
This, this and this and for you. Like which one do you feel like, you know, is the problem and is it is a symptom? What, what do you mean? Like, I, I purposefully say that to get like them a bit confused. Because what I want to do is I want to like start to create a maybe a bit of doubt like in their mind.
Yeah.
So time for a change. Possibly.
As far as like you know, them not having the money. Okay. It's like, well, I mean if you had the focus, if you had the drive, if you had the motivation, like would you have that money problem or would money be a challenge? Like. No, it wouldn't.
So what's the, what's 100 want to stick with the nonprofit? Like I. A thousand percent. But I just want.
It's an actual problem then like I don't have the focus or drive. Yeah.
So our healthier relationship with it.
Sorry, I meant like time for like a change. Like in your internal world. I mean so you can have, have those things. Yeah.
Or are you actually willing to focus on the problem rather than just focusing on the symptom? Like. Yes, I am. Like, like why would you. Ah, because of this, this and this. Yeah. Cause like just with anything, if you focus on the symptom, like what type of results do you get?
I'm. Well, you know, I appreciate you. You're sharing this information with me. I know it's not the easiest or kind of most exciting.
Not good one. So you actually committed to change so we no longer keep on focusing on the symptom? Yes. Okay, then we can start negotiating.
A fun topic to talk about but it does help me just to get an understanding of your situation and.
Okay, so. So let's focus on like what you can do.
Like not and you know, what could be helpful for you and really everything that you've shared.
Okay. I'll, I'll skip over the, the presentation but just some key things and hopefully I wasn't too harsh or anything. Right. Not good one. So you actually committed to change so we no longer keep on focusing on the symptom? Yes. Okay, then we can start negotiating. Okay, so. So let's focus on like what you can do. Like not what you care all day. So what could you do? What can you do? Then we start to have that back and forth. But some key things is if you let people ramble, especially if they're talkers with the money, with her focused on the real thing.
So there they weren't able to pre qualify. So I do, I do have some in house payment plans that are available as well that, that we could discuss.
So you are able and also a reason why you do want to do that because again for whatever reason, if she's not able to qualify for it, we then again we're going to dive into some things that aren't going to help us make sure we're a little Bit more in the conversation, probing better, expanding on certain issues, diving deeper into the actual emotion. Still need that commitment that they're going to make that change. Like, this woman should have been balling. And. And if they. If they don't qualify for something, we need to make it to where, oh, it's totally not a big deal. Definitely happens. Blah, blah, blah. So it's like, again, we need to just maybe normalize it a bit more because, you know, if people, they're like, okay, I need this need to make a change like that the financing would have been perfect, and then now I have to pay more. Right. So it's like, oh, it's like, oh, it doesn't look like you're able to qualify. You know, it totally happens. You know, they can't in this conversation because there's a couple of times, like, like at the beginning of the conversation when she was starting to talk about. Tell us, like, why or why not they qualify people, you know, like, for privacy reasons. But, you know, with clients, if they're not able to qualify, that typically what they'll do is they'll go this route. So that way about the pain, like, you could tell, like, the emotion was bubbling up, but we didn't really dive beneath the surface, so we weren't able to get her to that point. But like, this again, like, you can still get the issue solved. Like you said, start making more of that income coming in. And typically, if you want to pay that off early, most clients do, but it's going to be totally up to you.
Able to schedule that kickstart and kind of get the scroll.
She should have cried. Okay. And she needs to feel that emotion.
Keep the process going as well.
Okay. Okay. Well, then definitely send me in the information, and then I can kind of just take a look at finances and see how everything fits together.
Like, money, money aside, is this something that you feel like would. Would work for you and really.
Because again, it's three years of inaction, not having a social life, not making.
You get to the.
We need to clarify before, like, when you say look into finances, like, how do you mean money some months, but still working 60 hours a week. Like, she needs the root of the.
Issue for the long run.
Money aside. Yeah, I would be really excited to try.
Needs to feel that pain to change. So there's just something like this, because.
I haven't tried something like this before.
And how do you feel like it would help you.
Just get me?
Kind of like there's a couple key things. I feel like if you really tighten up and that's in specifically improv. She said she would be excited to try something like this. She didn't really. She answered the question if she feels like it would work for her. So we need. I would just re. Ask it. Okay, yeah, definitely, definitely trying something. But do you feel like with what I laid out a custom plan for you like that that would be the answer for you. Why do you feel like it would though? Problem awareness. I know we've talked about that quite a bit that you're going to be able to get to the pain a lot quicker. But why actually invest in yourself? So again we don't have to keep hitting rock bottom and try to make some of these drastic changes. Right. Be able to dive a lot deeper into it and then be able to have a more directed conversation specifically on why they haven't done anything in the past and then get a better like.
Yeah, just get me focused again. Yeah, live in the living the life I want really.
At her future pace and consequence out of her. But let me go ahead and skip a little forward.
Well rounded life.
And so you know, I guess you know, for you like how. How do you think you might be able to like make the investment into yourself so you can really have that work life balance and, and really feel good about all the areas of your life.
Could you repeat that?
What, what are your options to be able to like make that investment into yourself so you can really have that, that work life balance.
I just have to see how it all like calculates. Well then yeah, if you could send me the information for the month to be honest with you.
Yeah. So again like making sure that I'm.
Getting all my payments here in the next couple months because I mentioned to you funding can be really challenging, especially in the non profit sector. So.
Yeah, because we didn't.
But then also yeah, any type of like, like I said, funding is or income is always a challenge. So okay, you know, whatever that could look like. No.
So like. Right. Really, you know, certainly more commitment on.
Her.
Needing to change, focusing on the actual problem, those different things. It's just going to make this part. She's probably not going to be as open because again she's just focusing on the number.
No pressure for me, you know, either way. But you know, I guess, you know.
For you don't say no pressure.
You know, like if these issues continue and continue to make impact, you know, your payment.
Because when you say no pressure they're just going to be like now she said it's a challenge So I would at least dive into money a bit. Gonna think about pressure. Just like no pink elephant. You think of pink. Just don't say no pressure and send.
The employees you can bring on and just your work in general. Like, what, you know, what's gonna happen then?
What's gonna happen if I don't change things? Like, yeah, like, it's gonna continue to kind of move forward in slower way than I want.
In terms of growth, we say it's a challenge. Like, how do you mean? Oh, what, this or this or that? Like, she mentioned, like someone she don't get paid wild for me personally in the org.
So.
Yeah. What do you mean by slower, though?
I guess, you know, for you, what would be riskier? Like, invest investing in yourself, maybe finding those, those funds even if they're not super readily available so you can really get to the root issue and be able to, you know, feel good.
Well, it's like, well, if you just had like, you know, a duffel bag full of cash, it's like, good to go. Like, would you do it about all.
Those areas or maybe like continuing on and these problems potentially even getting worse?
But like, why, why would you do it, though? Why actually invest in yourself?
So that way, I mean, yeah, like, that's, that's, that's not. Not the goal.
So.
Yeah, so I'll have to do the calculations and.
Yeah, so if people don't answer you, you just kind of have to, oh, yeah, again, like, you could have that focus and you can actually start making more money. We can definitely talk about that for sure as far as the calculations. But I am trying to understand, like, for you, in your mind, like, which one is. Which one is actually riskier? Like, we need to get them this, this, and this. And for you, like, which one do you feel like, you know, is a problem and is it is a symptom? What. What do you mean? Like, I had to answer the question. So then once you realize, like, they're not answering, you don't do it in a rude way. They're like, oh, yeah, we can definitely go over a lot for sure. But I, I'm trying to understand, like, for you, which one's riskier? Like, why, why is it riskier? So is that a risk you're willing to continue to take? So we need to get, get her to answer the question.
I just have to take a minute with everything, just kind of take a look.
Okay, well, where would you like to go from here then?
Send me the information.
Okay.
And then I'm.
I wasn't what information were you referring to?
I purposely say that to get like, them a bit confused. Because what I want to do is I want to like, start to create a maybe a bit of doubt, like in their mind as far as like, you know, them not having the money. Okay. It's like, well, I mean, if you had the focus, if you had the drive, if you had.
Okay.
How they might be able to, you know, make the financial part work is usually they'll schedule the kickstart just so it could be kind of on the, on the books and then take some steps from there. Is that something that you'd like to schedule now? So we're not going to like, hunting each other down?
Yeah, let's. I go out of town. Out of town all of next.
Add the motivation. Like, would you have that money problem start?
So we're not, you know, trying to kind of.
So I have two good idea. Even like the 12th of July, about.
A month from now, serious about changing things.
So this is why we gotta have a conversation on what she can do. Because if like right now, like, let's just say she doesn't have like, whatever is the initial thing would be to get started. Like then. Or would money be a challenge? Like, no, it wouldn't. So what's the. What's the actual problem then? Like, I don't have the focus or drive. Yeah. So I can do an open wallet test. Like the same thing you did. Like schedule something in, but actually take some for some form of payment. Even if it's like 50 bucks, that's going to make it a lot more substantial. Like we need to take ace. Or are you actually willing to focus on the problem rather than just focusing on the step forward? And so there's a couple different ways again, like make sure we're reframing the money, focusing on what you can do, not on what you can't do. Okay. Start to have that conversation with them. And then still, if they're, if they're being squirrely, then we can talk about, you know, fear of change and all these different things. Like, yes, I am like, like, why would you. Because of this, this and this. Yeah, because like just with anything. But most of the time you don't even need to get into that. So just a little bit more directed in the objection handling overall. Like I can see that you understand where to go or if you focus on the symptom, like what type of results do you get? Ah, not good ones. So you actually committed to change. So we no longer keep on Focusing on this, what, what you really need. But since we're making it to where she, she's getting away with not answering questions and then we're not really getting the commitment that we need, then it's, it's pretty wishy washy at this point. So we like, we need to be able to symptom. Yes. Okay, then we can start negotiating well to get more commitment from her. And then if there is a way for you to get a down payment. Okay, so, so let's focus on like what you can do. Like not initial investment, a deposit, something. Even if she just puts her credit card details down, let's say she has absolutely zero. I have negative in my bank, bank account. She can't pay you a single dime. Well, like what we can do is we can schedule a payment. Like we need some type of commitment. That's if she literally just can't do it. But it does sound like she could make some type of investment. But she's just, again, she's focusing on the numbers. What you can't do because we focus on what you can't. You know, we'll be here all day, so what could you do? What can. So there's just, I say slow it down. Make sure we get the commitment. And you do. Then we start to have that back and forth with the money with her focused on the real thing.
So there.
And then start the negotiation. Okay.
They weren't able to pre qualify. So I do, I do have some in house payment plans that are.
So hopefully this has been helpful available.
As well that, that we could discuss.
So you are able and also a reason why you do want to do that. Because again, for whatever reason, if she's not able to qualify for it, we still need that commitment that they're gonna make that change. And if they, if they don't qualify for something, we need to make it to where, oh, it's totally not a big deal. Definitely happens. Blah, blah, blah. So it's like again, we need to just maybe normalize it a bit more because you know, if people, they're like, okay, I need this need to make a change like that the financing would have been perfect and then now I had to pay more. Able to schedule that kickstart and kind of get the process going as well.
Okay. Okay. Well then definitely send me in the information and then I can kind of just take a look at finances and see how everything fits together.
Like money, money aside, is this something that you feel like would. Would work for you and really help you get to the.
We need to clarify before, like when you say look into finances, like how.
Do you mean the root of the issue for the long run?
I think money aside? Yeah. I would be really excited to try something like this because I haven't tried something like this before.
And how do you feel like it would help you.
Just get me kind.
Of like now she said she would be excited to try something like this. She didn't really. She answered the question if she feels like it would work for her. So we need. I would just re. Ask it. Okay. Yeah, definitely, definitely trying something. But do you feel like with what I laid out a custom plan for you, like that that would be the answer for you and why do you feel like it would though? And so, you know, I guess, you know, for you, like how. How do you think you might be able to like make the investment into yourself so you can really have that work life balance. Balance and really feel good about all the areas of your life.
Could you repeat that?
What are your options to be able to like make that investment into yourself so you can really have that work life balance.
I just have to see how it all calculates to be honest with you.
Yeah. So again, like, sure.
That I'm getting all my payments here in the next couple months because I mentioned to you funding can be really challenging, especially in the nonprofit sector. So.
Yeah.
And because we didn't really, you know, certainly more commitment on her needing to change, focusing on the actual problem, those different things, it's just going to make this part. She's probably not going to be as open because again, she's just focusing on the number.

Because when you say no pressure, they're just going to be like, they're going to think about pressure. It's like no pink elephant. You think of pink. Just don't say no pressure, Vincent.
The employees you can bring on and just your work in general. Like, what, you know, what's going to happen then?

I wasn't. What information were you referring to?
