LIVE SALES CALL SSN # Objection

An insurance agent handles a prospect's refusal to give their Social Security number. The agent explains it's required by law, warns of legal consequences for misuse, and notes he's motivated by commission, not charity.
Go ahead with your social.
Oh, I hate giving that out.
No one likes giving it out, but every insurance company is going to require that you have it. That's why I sent you over a copy of my state of Michigan license. So go ahead whenever you're ready.
So what do you do with it if I don't?
I can't do a thing with it. If I ever did anything with your Social Security number, you could sue me to the nines. I could care less about that. Like I said, I'm not obviously in the business of philanthropy work. I'm getting paid a commission to do this, but I could give a shit less about your Social Security Security number to tell you.
Yeah. So this is really great. If somebody is giving you an objection and you treat it like, oh, this is super valuable thing that they said and they are totally right in saying it and we justify the objection. If it is a ridiculous objection, you can't justify the objection. The reason being is it's going to cause more worry in their mind. So this is for life insurance sales, asking for a social. This is something that a lot of people might have an issue with, but because he's so nonchalant about it and he's like, hey, dude, I don't care about your social. This is going to lower the guard of the prospect. Now you can think about this in the high-ticket coaching sales environment. I would do this all the time when somebody says, hey, what if I pay and something happens or I want a refund or different things along those lines? I'll be like, hey man, like at the end of the day, if you were to try to charge back, the payment processor always sides with the person who's charging back. And if you were to charge back, it would cost us 1 to 2 points on the actual payment processor. So in order for us to think that we want to refund you, if it made sense, you would have to think that we would be willing to sacrifice $100,000 to $200,000 just to save $3,000? Like, dude, that's fucking ridiculous. Like, why would you even be thinking that? So again, you're just showing them that this is a ridiculous thing to say. You're not justifying it. Like, oh, well, why do you feel like not giving your Social Security is a bad— no, you don't want to go into it. You don't want to justify it. Just nonchalantly, hey, like, I don't even care about it. This is why it logically doesn't even make sense for me to care about it. Let's just move on with whatever it is. Lower the guard. Overall, nice job.
