A short conversational transcript (YouTube POV) where two speakers schedule a follow-up meeting and discuss sales behavior: specifically avoiding appearing overly available, the temptation to 'fake' scarcity when early in a sales career, and the recommendation to improve skills so genuine busyness replaces scarcity tactics.
Okay.
Should we schedule a follow up for next week then? Yep. What about Monday? Anytime. 9 till 12? 9 till 12? Yeah, I can probably. Should we say 10:30? Yep, sounds good. Yeah, I'll move some stuff around, but should be fine.
Yeah, I'm sure this is relatable to a lot of sales reps. You don't want to come across like you're just overly available because this will just lower your status. And when you're first in sales and you're not that good at getting opportunity or really have a packed calendar, some of it is a little bit fake it till you make it. The point is get good enough to where you don't have to fake scarcity. You're actually just busy because you're good at what you do and you get to that point by improving your skill set so you don't have to use these fake scarcity tactic games.
