Selling to Rich People Is a Cheat Code ($6k to $26k+ while working less)

In this candid interview, sales coach Christian Polk talks with his client Nathan about Nathan’s evolution from selling low‑ticket marketing and e‑commerce services to high‑ticket AI‑automation agency deals aimed at wealthy clients. Nathan shares his recent commission milestones—$26,500 in a month, over $30,000 in the past 30 days, and a $120,000 single deal—highlighting how his income jumped while his workload shrank. They discuss the frustrations of low‑ticket offers (high objection handling, low conversion rates, market volatility) and how staying in a comfortable but limited income bracket can stall growth. Christian emphasizes the importance of a mindset shift, redefining one’s relationship with money, and personal development to become comfortable with larger numbers. The conversation contrasts the sales process with rich prospects (simpler, solution‑focused dialogues, less “bullshit”) versus the grind of selling to cash‑strapped clients. Nathan recommends others stuck in low‑ticket sales to work with a coach, become uncomfortable with their current earnings, and make decisive personal changes. The interview ends with future targets (consistently $30‑$50k months, buying a Rolex) and a rallying call to stop selling to poor people and use the “cheat code” of selling to the wealthy.

All right, well, I got Nathan here. So Nathan and I have been working together for how long now?
Like a year and a half, I'd say.
Yeah, a year and a half. And then last month, what did you hit in commissions?
$26,500.
$26,500. And you said over the past 30 days you hit over $30,000, but not technically yet over $30,000 a month. But you should be hitting it this month, right?
This month it's coming.
All right, cool. So I think the biggest things I want to go over is 'Cause like number one, when we first started working together, you weren't selling what you're selling now. You transitioned to now selling rich people, which we'll go over your experience with that, like what you were selling before. I'm gonna tell you. And yeah, we'll just go over all that. So what were you selling before when we first started working together?
So are we going like when I first started working with you?
Yeah, when you first started.
Okay, when I first started working with you, it was, I was selling marketing services to like med spa owners. So they were like not broke broke people.
Yeah, but they're— They're kind of broke 'cause they weren't
getting any people coming through to their business, right? So they couldn't really afford it too much. Should I just go through like everything?
Yeah, and it's like, yeah, so you did that. That's when you first came to me.
Yeah.
What were like the main issues you were running into?
Oh, main issues was definitely, it was problem awareness, 'cause these guys were really, like, they were really, what's the word, like logistical. They didn't want to get emotional at all.
Yeah, they were just like numbers, let's just go over it, trying to push you around, get to the point type shit.
Exactly right. So like just starting at the sales and dealing with that, it was definitely kind of like a struggle. So that was one thing that I kind of like nailed down with you. And then this last part would probably be objection handling, I would say.
Yeah. And with that offer, so you hopped on.
Yeah.
You started doing better, but then the offer kind of went sideways.
Yeah, yeah, 'cause it was due to the market. Like, GLP-1s just weren't selling really. Like, I don't think they weren't selling. It was the fact that the market was like, just went down. Like, it was insane. Like the FTC or some shit happened.
Something happened outside of our control. We're salespeople. We're here to sell shit. Trying to make some money. Not deal with all these marketing things. And so then you went on to an e-com offer, right? Yeah. What were— what was your experience on the e-com offer?
So with the e-com offer, that's where, to your point, I was just selling to brokies, right? It was pretty decent volume at first, right? It was starting to get consistent for me, but selling to brokies, I mean, man, I would be on— I would be doing objection handling, not even trolling you, probably for at least an hour, hour and a half. Just to maybe collect the deposit. It would be insane, right? I would do all that just for a deposit and then they would dispute it after.
And it's not even like you weren't selling well because you were closing 60%.
Oh, it was like there was some months where it was 60%. I was probably closer to like 40%, 50%.
Yeah, but like even on the months that you're closing 60%, because it was a $3K package, how much were you making when you were closing 60% of the people you're talking to?
Brother, it was like My best month there was like $12K.
Yeah, $12K.
So I was making like $7K, $12K a
month. Yeah, dude, fucking head down, closing 60%, making $12,000, selling a $3K package. How early on to you selling this did I tell you? Like, bro, this is an issue.
Yo, listen to Christian, guys. That's all I gotta say. Probably like 2 months in, you were like, okay, you're doing decent. Now you need to get on a better offer. And I was like, well, it's like I'm doing good. Like I'm comfortable here, et cetera. And I just stuck with the offer.
Yeah.
And yeah, I should, I should, I should have listened to you.
Yeah, because like doubling down and staying comfortable can definitely fuck you over.
Definitely did.
So walk, walk through your experience with that, because like that's also something that even on the newer offer we had to have a conversation about. Like what, what finally helped you get over that hump of like just being comfortable with some of this?
When you say comfortable, you mean like just like—
Like the income level.
Oh dude, I mean like, I think it was just like a mental shift. Like I remember one thing that— the one thing like working with Christian is like sure sales training, but the second piece was like personal development. And it was really like just becoming the type of person who can close over $20K a month, right? And like really making that mental shift. I think that's what kind of got me to start feeling uncomfortable with only making like $7K to $12K a month. I was starting to feel like bad about it. Yeah.
Yeah, you gotta— what I would say is like, you have to allow your relationship with money change quickly.
Yeah.
Right? Like, because at first you're gonna be like, oh, like, dude, $20,000 will change my life. But then once you hit it, you gotta understand, like, it's not actually that much money, right? Like, legitimately, fucking today, right? Like, you see me, I was just in there. I just made $4.5K in commissions earlier today. I made $6,000. So today I made $10.5K in comms, selling for a different offer, by the way, not selling sales training. So it's like, I would never be able to hit numbers like that if my relationship with money stayed the same.
Exactly. And I was literally just about to say that. I was like, dude, this guy's like mogging my shit, bro. Like, I thought I was like pretty okay, like making $25K a month. The good part about all this is like making that amount, it feels like it's like chump change when I'm walking like next to guys like you and other people.
So yeah, because you come here, you're like, dude, this place is nice. Yeah, I got I'm like, dude, you gotta hurry. I have to hop on a fucking sales call. Hop on a sales call, hour later I made $4.5K, bro.
Yeah, Christian comes out, he's like, fucking closed them.
Fucking closed them, bro. So it's like you gotta allow your relationship with money to really shift. So you're on this offer, $3K offer, talking to poor people all day. Dude, fucking nightmare, bro. So I helped you get on a new offer and just like high level, you don't need to go into too much detail. Like, what do you sell and then what are the ticket prices?
So I sell AI automation, right? Basically, people come to us to start an agency and then we essentially partner on a business and really just scale it up, right? The ticket prices are between $20K, the lowest ticket, up to $120K.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you closed a $120K deal. You made in one deal what you used to make on your highest months closing 60%.
I know. I know. I was shocked. I'm like, how could it? I have more time. You would not believe. I'm working less and I'm making so much more. It's insane.
Yeah, dude. It's like—
It's absolutely insane. I'm shocked.
Right. And how are the conversations different? You're talking to people, you actually have money. They have to have the ability to pay you $120,000. How are those conversations different than how they were before?
Honestly, man, it's like pretty easy breezy. Like, I don't know, it's not like I'm like having to get them to like— it's like, you know, like when you're doing like, you know, solution awareness, future pace, like you're getting them to really kind of feel like all these emotions.
You gotta twist them in all types of knots.
Yeah, like just to get a deposit, right? With these guys, it's like I don't even— I barely even do any of that. Like genuinely, I just like walk through everything. I'm like, okay, yeah, I get a couple like pieces of criteria and I pitch. That's it.
Yeah. And it's like, so you're working less, it's easier work, and then you're making more money as well.
Yeah, it's kind of crazy, bro.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, dude, fucking selling rich people is the cheat code. And what actually clicked it in my mind, we won't say his name, but you're working with him. When I like saw that, I'm like, this guy, you know, he's decent, but the amount of money he's making, it literally is just the offer. And after I had that conversation, we started working together with that guy. I'm like, dude, I'm gonna go all in on this. I'm like, you're gonna be one of my fucking guinea pigs where it's like, I'm gonna get you on a better offer, dude, and let's get you started to make some real fucking money.
I remember that. I was like, dude, please, let me be your guinea pig.
Anything to get me off of this fucking $3K e-com offer. Hell no. 'Cause I'm pretty sure that offer fucking tanked.
Yeah, it tanked.
Yeah, it tanked, right? I think they're on to other things. But yeah, there's only so much you can do like selling poor people like that. Um, and then yeah, so the next focus, hit $30K at least this month. Yeah, but you should be realistically month in and month out above $50K.
I gotta hit that. Yeah.
Yeah, dude. Yeah, make me buy you a Rolex, bro. Dude, the other Nathan, I got him a fucking Rolex. You can't be fucking without the Rolex.
I can't be like the second place Nathan, you know what I mean? Like, I gotta lock in.
Gotta lock the fuck in. Well, is there anything that you would, like, if somebody was like in your position, they're stuck selling to poor people, making decent money, it's comfortable, like what would you tell them to do?
Bro, genuinely, like I would literally, I've put my friends onto Christian. I would tell them to work with you.
Yeah. That's it. Like even that, like, okay, working with me, but like what decisions do they need to make in order to like get to the next level?
I think those are more like personal decisions, like becoming like uncomfortable with where they're at now. Right? And like really kind of pushing. Or like one, one something that a different like person told me was like forcing the growth, right? Where it's like kind of breaking that barrier that you kind of set for yourself. And, um, even give me books about that, right? Like Letting Go. I don't know if you remember that. Yeah, yeah, right. I had a lot of limiting beliefs coming to Christian. Like a lot of those have kind of like disappeared now working with him. Um, that's why I'm saying like, dude, just work with you, cuz I think a lot of this stuff is just like— yeah,
dude, it kind of shifts. And it's like, I think a big thing as well, dude, is just like making yourself feel small.
Yeah.
Right? In terms of like the money you're making, because it's like, dude, you're making $25K a month, more money than you ever made. But in order to get that, some dude had to pay you $120,000. So you're like, what the fuck is that guy doing?
That's what I'm thinking. I'm like, bro, I'm collecting like— to make $25K, I have to collect $250K. I have to get— I have to do what these guys are doing, right? You know what I mean? It's like, it's like another like way of thinking. It's crazy.
Yeah, like that's what I'm thinking, dude. Uh, the one that— do you know Like, I sent you the video of Jeremy Haynes.
Which one?
Like the one that's like, hey, like when you make money, you need to take more risks and all that. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a video clip where he's talking to somebody that like just literally like plays in my mind like over and over again. Like this guy, he's like, hey, how much are you making a month right now? And he goes, $180,000. And he goes, how does it feel? And the dude responds like, I'm barely scraping by. And he goes, you are barely scraping by. And I'm just like, Holy fuck, dude.
Bro, you know what shook it for me? I don't know if it's that same video, but there was one where Jeremy Haynes— again, I love this guy— he was like, he's like, for his massive man, he's like, you know how much it costs to buy a tree?
Yeah, you gotta buy a tree.
You seen that one? And he was like, he was like, dude, it cost me like $120K. And there was like some guys that were just hitting the $100K mark. Yeah. He's like, right, none of y'all are bigger than a tree. It was like, it was insane. Like him with his accent, he's like, bro, you guys aren't even bigger than a tree. So like me just at $25K, it's like, bro, I'm probably like a bush or some shit.
Yeah, dude. And it's like when you're selling to people with money, like you're always just talking to people with money. You're always surrounded with people who have like fucking abundance. It's like you're not dealing with bullshit.
Yep.
Right? Just not dealing with bullshit. Like that's what I would say. It's like, yeah, you're still gonna have to overcome concerns, still handle like objections. You still have to learn how to sell well and like learn to have a different conversation. But the amount of bullshit that you have to deal with, like I can tell you, When I used to be like on a certain sales training company where I was taking like somebody's last $100, like dude, I'd 3 hours fucking doing that versus what I did today and I make so much more money now.
It's insane the difference.
That's what I'd recommend. So moral of the story, stop selling poor people, make more money, and yeah, fucking crush it.
Stop being broke.
Yeah, stop being broke.
Hell yeah.
